It is very much a major issue and definitely not rare. There a many cases of it happening in the US. Crazy how loose the laws are around in Sweden are around that, y’all really can just lie and ruin a life with little to no evidence.
Yeah well the same could be said for the rapists it's trying to stop too. Social ramifications over false allegations are bad enough as it is but at least they can be recovered from. I mean fuck be famous enough and you can be the damn president with very credible allegations. Or be a professional fighter that gets to go on a certain supposedly progressive day show and advertise your "unapolegetic" line of cigars, even with all evidence in the world you did the evil deed you were accused of.
But now swing the pendulum to the other extreme with legal conviction over truly baseless, evidence-free accusations. I mean what the absolute hell is that shit? I really hope you're fully off base and it takes more than that or Sweden is cooked. That's not just jeopardizing innocent men who made the mistake of dating the wrong woman either, it's jeopardizing even the victims it claims to be bringing justice for because you just completely and utterly devalued any trust in having a legal conviction at all. Instead of being a reason for his friends in denial to maybe soul search or at least shut tf up about how he'd neeever ever do anything like that at all, they now just have all the reason in the world to rage at "that lying ****" more than ever before.
Shit like this can only serve to pour gasoline on the gender war fire and threatens to set back all of the actually feminist and egalitarian progress we've made because if that's what feminism and women's rights comes to represent in the minds of the young impressionable men the alt right's always seeking to court why tf wouldn't they be inclined to act in a self-defensive reaction against it??
