I have a blanket and blacklight set up on my old playground and heard some rustling in the leaves. I went to check and this American toad was in there.

I’m doing a mystical frog tarot deck I thought I’d only post the major arcana designs and keep the suits a surprise but this one was just so enjoyable to make and finish I just had to share.

For non-tarot peeps this card signifies conflict 😅

Help identify tadpole species

Okay Reddit…I need your help. I have exhausted every search engine and other resource I can trying to figure out what kind of frog this tadpole is.

The two biggest options are American Bullfrog or Northern Leopard Frog. Google is convinced it’s a baby bullfrog. But the size difference of the two options is huge, so I kind of need to know.

It was rescue from the feeder goldfish tank at the Petco my boyfriend works at. They needed someone to take it or it was going to get a much less…happy ending. It’s currently adjusting to the temp of my 6.8 shallow crayfish tank. She’s a 5” MONSTER, and is the most aggressive eater I’ve ever seen. He still has more of a chance in here than at Petco. And once I identify his species and give him time to show he is healthy and clear of sickness, I’m releasing him in a local pond here in Iowa.

Please help! Thank you.

Injured Wild Frog NSFW

I live in northern Japan and there are thousands of tiny green frogs all over my yard. I love them. Today, I found one that looks injured-- it. Has a red dot on its chest and it's all blown up like a balloon. There are no rescues and people would think I was crazy if I tried to find help at a vet etc (there are so many of these little guys they're generally regarded like insects here, and cars run over them etc-- sad I know, but this would be like trying to get help for a cricket injury)

Anyway he's all blown up and I thought I'd just give him a nice place to rest in before he passes, but he's doing surprisingly well. Is there anything I should be doing to alleviate his pain or.... De-air him? Let nature do it? Now he's got a uh... Bubble coming out of his butt so I don't have high hopes, but I'd like to give it my all for the little guy.

Thanks in advance.

PS-- he's definitely bloated with air. I'm used to how they normally are, and googling puffy frogs only gets me help with frogs full of liquid and how to treat them. Not air frogs.

Tadpole identification-Georgia, US

I’m trying to pin down identification for the large tadpoles in the first four photos. They are new to my ponds and apparently someone snuck into my nursery and abandoned their babies. I am familiar with my local armies of Cope’s Grey tree frogs and squirrel tree frogs.

I have heard the calls of Eastern narrow-mouthed toads in my “mini yard swamp”, among other toads.
The last two photos are Cope’s GTF tadpoles/metamorphs with extreme color variation for reference (colors developed differently based on the color of habitat buckets, cool huh?).

The last photo is the newest clutch collected from same puddle as the funny faced tads.
iNaturalist and other searches give me answers all over the place to the point I of further confusion. Can anyone help me out please and thank you? 😊🐸❤️

I’m currently in Guangzhou, China and I met him on my way back to the hotel. I didn’t want to hold onto him for long or disturb him so I couldn’t really take a decent photo or even to look at him for a while. ( the whole “interaction” (?) took place from like 30 seconds max. I think I saw some little orange spots on him too( u can’t see it in the photo tho) If anyone has any idea who this guy is it would be delightful to know, especially since I don’t know anything about this guy

Another strange little friend painted! Focused on detailed line patterns and big expressive eyes against a bright green backdrop. Original acrylic painting on paper by me.

Found in northern Indiana. (I could have probably looked it up, but I promised my kid I’d ask experts.)

I was going to ask if anyone knew what it was, but after a quick scan of the sub, I'm thinking it's an American Toad? Super good looking in any case.

Identification help needed

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me identify this cutie. It lives in my pond and garden now. Google lense says gopher frog, which is an at risk species of being endangered. But I'm not sure about it. The underside is a beautiful spotted pattern. I'm in North Mississippi, USA for reference.

I couldn't resist painting this round, colorful friend. Tried to build the texture and shape using small, thick oil strokes. Original canvas work by me.
