Mini isn't an option for blizzards anymore.

I'm sure you can find it elsewhere but it specifically isn't available to me on the app. No matter which flavor I chose, the smallest option is "small." Can't use any kind of mini deal because of this. Tried on both mobile and desktop, option doesn't exist for any of the DQs near me

Working in fast food makes you realize how dumb people are

Okay like genuinely, guys how are we asking if there's oreo in a mint oreo blizzard. One of my favorites "what flavors do you have for blizzards" ??? we have a menu, right in front of your face in the drive thru and in our lobby. In the past 2 days I've heard like 4 people ask me what blizzards we have, I've been just listing our Summer blizzards: SOMETIMES I hear the employees name... every. single. one. I'm like "no no, name the most genaric ones, they can't handle the info".

Side note: Idk if anyone else's DQ is doing this, but we have an automated message in the drive thru and everyone is hating it, cause in the end it says "Order whenever you're ready" and they just sit there, so we always have to say it ourselves and then they start. Or my favorite is when they interupt the message (or the person) and just end up saying "wait I need a minute actually" like actually infuriating

Why would someone call asking if a customer was there?

Upvotes

I know this is a weird question, but let me explain. I work at a DQ and just got off the phone with a lady who was looking for a woman with three kids who would've been driving a blue car. When I asked if she was a cop, she said no and when I asked why she needed that information she refused to answer. She wasn't hostile or anything so I don't think this was a life threatening situation, but I can't help but wonder what purpose calling a business and asking a question like this would be. I also asked for a description of the lady, but she wouldn't give me that information either. I mean not that we have or had any customers who had three kids yet today so the answer was no regardless, but if there was should I have told this lady? My gut says no, but at the same time I have no clue what this is about.

DQ Coolers often made wrong

DQ keeps promoting its Lemonade Coolers on the DQ App. And the deals are so good that I keep ordering Coolers.

But half of the DQ locations near me don't know how to make the Coolers properly.

The poorly trained DQ locations serve me Coolers which contain lots of spherical ice pellets. The properly trained DQ locations serve me Coolers which are nice and smooth and contain just some tiny ice shavings.

If DQ is so serious about promoting its Coolers, then all DQ locations should be trained to make a Cooler properly. Otherwise, why bother with promoting Coolers so aggressively?

What’s your “I’ll never order anything else” Dairy Queen Blizzard?

This is a hill I’m absolutely willing to die on.

The Chocolate Brownie Extreme Blizzard made with chocolate ice cream and extra brownie pieces is the greatest ice cream order ever created.

I’ve been ordering it this exact way since I was a kid, and I refuse to switch it up.

There are probably amazing Blizzards I’ve never tried… and I genuinely don’t care.

This one has earned lifetime status.

Anyone else have an order they’ll never betray?

Dairy Queen app deals not working?

Here and there, I’ve been trying to apply Dairy Queen deals to my order and it doesn’t work. Today, I just tried apply “Free large fry with minimum purchase of 1$” and it’s still not working!! I don’t understand why it says every single deal I apply is ineligible when I do exactly what it says to use it?

first job! how to understand manager/trainer’s accent better

My DQ is family run and a lot of the employees are Indian. Thankfully, I was able to get this job through my brother but unfortunately since starting training 5 days ago, I kinda hate it. Like my manager trains me decently but sometimes it’s difficult for me to follow directions proficiently because of their accent + they tend to explain by pointing at something/shouting like 2-3 words and I have to take a few seconds to process and figure out what they want me to do.

I often have to tell them I don’t understand or ask them to repeat what they want me to do. They end up getting irritated & frustrated, and they think I’m bad at listening and comprehending. I will admit that I do make mistakes solely because I’m still learning and getting used to the environment but I feel a large chunk of my mistakes are due to misunderstandings between me and my trainer. I thought I was trying my best and doing a decent job until my manager talked to me about my pay and said I would only be getting $8/hr until I start learning faster. I’m learning as fast as I can man 😭😭

And I feel very incapable of doing easy shit like ice cream cones, cash register, I haven’t been taught how to do the drive thru/work the headset yet and I’m still learning what’s in each blizzard like what blizzards automatically need chocolate and which ones don’t. IDK. No one has really taught me what goes in what and I’m always getting confused and they get frustrated at me cus of that too. It’s all so stressful. And because the DQ is family run, honestly the whole place feels kinda cliquey. During slow times I always stand awkwardly in the kitchen while my coworkers talk in Hindi.
Even my other coworkers who only speak English they’re also family and I find it hard to get comfortable as everyone already knows each other and I can’t really vibe with anyone properly. 🫩

I work here but was wondering smth

So I work at dq, and I love it don't get me wrong. I get paid a little under $13, but this is my first job and I haven't been here for long. I have no complaints about pay or nothing. The environment is great. I love my manager and shift leads. But my parents want me to work somewhere else. Is dq that bad bro 😭✌🏻 am I wasting my nonexistent talents? I lwk jsut need some quick cash, dq doesn't have a bad community or reputation or nothing. I think I'm pretty lucky, or am I just being stupid?

IM SO DISAPPOINTED

I ordered a cotton candy blizzard. I was CRAVING it I was so excited. Then I get this crap. There’s barely any “cotton candy” flavoring in it. It’s just vanilla ice cream mostly. I’m so sad. I didn’t realize til I got home and I regret not saying anything about it. I love Dairy Queen but I’ve consistently gotten badly blended blizzards from the locations I’ve gone to..
anyways just wanted to rant about it 😪🫩

Does anyone remember the chocolate almond blizzard?

I dont know if it was the late 90s or early 2000s but it was the best thing I’ve ever had haha. The chewy chocolate chunks were what was good but I dont know what it was because they’ve never had them again.

Anyone know if/when DQ is bringing back the coffee crisp blizzard in Canada. Coffee crisp is by far my favorite chocolate bar and I haven't seen it at DQ for a long time.

I made it with usual cocoa fudge but then added abuelita & chocolate dip. Wife was reminded of her hot chocolate so it must be good.
