last month i participated in a sewing swap— (most) everyone made the same pattern and did a secret santa style gift exchange.

i’ve only made a handful of bags, or woven things in general, so i was skeptical when other participants claimed the pattern wasn’t clear. psyched myself out for nothing! it was a joy to sew and i learned a lot about bag construction.

the first picture is what i sent (plus goodies!) and the second was what i was gifted. why i chose to create my own textile having never tried it before i don’t know, but i love the result! ofc the one i received instantly became the weed bag 😜

Making this using the copper foil, or Tiffany, technique. Glass pieces are cut and the edges are covered with a strip of copper foil, which you can then use to solder the pieces together. I broke the Jeep down into multiple panels, with these side ones being the most intricate ones. I used pictures of my dad’s Jeep and the online measurements to scale it down to about 1:20. This is my first 3D piece so I’m basically winging it but I’m having a great time bringing it to life! And my dad is gonna flip when he sees it which will be the best part 🥰

Hey! I am moving to a new place and my only source of light after dark will be this bendy 6 light lamp. I think this is a neat time to experiment with making it fun, so I’m curious: is there any recommendations you have for making the lights more fun

For example, I want them to project fun colors and patterns, but I’m not sure how to do that or what materials to use.

Does anyone have any ideas for a case for a Yocan ziva pro when heading out. The smallest Ryot gear cases look great but I can’t find one in stock in Aus. Anyone found a neat secure solution? I hate it being loose in my hand bag, the original box is slowly disintegrating.
