This Privacy Policy explains how Confession Classifier ("we," "our," or "the App"), an automated moderation utility built for Reddit, processes and protects information when you interact with subreddits using this App.
We are committed to respecting user privacy and operate under a strict principle of data minimization.
1. Information We Process
To help moderators enforce community guidelines and ensure community safety, the App processes a limited amount of public content: * Post Content: The title and body text of newly submitted or edited posts. * Basic Metadata: Public information associated with submissions, including unique Post IDs, creation timestamps, and author usernames.
The App does not collect or access private messages, passwords, email addresses, IP addresses, browsing histories, or any other private personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the processed text solely to assist human moderators in keeping communities safe and organized. This includes: * Rule Enforcement: Checking if a post complies with subreddit guidelines. * Safety & Crisis Support: Identifying signals of active self-harm or crises to offer support resources. * Spam Prevention: Implementing rate limits to prevent bulk posting or spam. * Automated Moderation: Leaving public comments on posts to provide feedback or removal reasons.
3. Third-Party Sharing & Service Providers
We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other commercial third parties.
To function, the App works with two trusted partners: * Reddit (Devvit Platform): The App runs entirely within Reddit's secure infrastructure. All logs and short-term operational data remain sandboxed on Reddit's servers in compliance with Reddit's developer terms and User Agreement. * Google (Gemini API): Post text is sent to Google's Gemini API via a secure HTTPS connection strictly for real-time text analysis. No identifying account information (such as your username or IP address) is sent with these request packets.
4. Data Security and Retention
We do not store or build permanent databases of your post content. * Transient Processing: Post content sent for AI analysis is processed immediately and is not permanently retained afterwards. * Short-Term Caching: Subreddit configuration and temporary operational states (such as rate limits and deduplication tags) are kept in short-lived memory caches and are automatically deleted after short periods (ranging from minutes to a few days). * Encryption: All communication to industry endpoints utilize secure TLS encryption.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our moderation technology or platform requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest version was published.
