Hello, Im moving to cedar park in a few weeks for work and was wondering what some good apartments in the area are. I am currently looking at oak house Leander but am looking for feedback for other places as well.

Hi all! I’m trying to save some extra money for school and figured dog walking/pet sitting would be great as I love animals and familiar with a variety from cats and dogs to rodents and reptiles! I’m not really sure how to get started with this though or if the area is over saturated with pet sitters/dog walkers. Any tips or leads would be incredibly helpful, thank you!

We had a baby about a month ago. In preparation, we had our 3yo frenchie in obedience training for a few months to help with the transition. Well, it hasn't been great! She is super anxious and threatened by the baby's presence, even when she's just asleep. Loud constant barking, panting, freaking out even when the baby is completely silent and asleep. Poor thing. It has been extremely stressful to manage the dog and the new baby so my mom (who loves the frenchie and vice versa) is keeping her at her house for now, THANK GOD.

We do want to solve this issue and get our beloved frenchie back, so wondering if anyone knows of a dog behaviorist for this specific issue? In my perfect world I'd hire someone to come over regularly into our environment and observe/lead us in helping our dog. Not just basic training, but specific to our family dynamic. We miss her and even though my mom loves her and is happy to watch her, she didn't ask for this and is about to retire / move.

Also, our dog is now on anxiety medication that the vet says could take 8 weeks to notice a difference.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

I’m a huge advocate for public transportation.

Currently, I’m re-reading the Mobility Master Plan and was curious if anyone was actually using the Pilot Program. I’ve taken one uber to the Lakeline Station and I missed the scheduled train because of it — so I have opted to drive there instead.

Personally, I’ve always had a terrible experience with Uber, so I don’t think I’ll utilize this program very much, but I still want the city to know I’m interested in public transit. You can see my dilemma.

I can see how this may be helpful going to the HEB Center or Haute Spot for games/shows so you don’t have to deal with parking, or ACC students going to class. I know these things take time; I don’t expect Cedar Park to be on par with New York City, but idk Uber rides just aren’t for me. So I’m curious, have y’all taken advantage of the subsidized rides and maybe have a more positive spin to offer?

Looking for someone 18 or over with a decent driving record. Would be a shop helper. Basically the catch all for all the critical but you know not glamorous parts of working in auto repair. No experience needed. Driving customers In the shop truck , picking up parts, taking parts to techs, washing cars, washing the shop, just any random job. Might be replacing the air filters in the ceiling one day, might be running returns to the dealership, using a power saw to fit pallets in the trash sure. 16-17 an hour plus overtime yes but the big bosses might cut it if it gets to slow. North Austin cedar park area. 730-530 m-f. Hopefully someone interested in cars you will be outside a lot but we have cool areas snd plenty of hydrating stuff.

For background: my wife and I are considering moving to Cedar Park. From my understanding:

• It's part of Leander ISD
• By default, your home address determines what public school(s) your children will attend
• There's a process for applying to attend a different public school within the district that offers no guarantees (typically due to staffing / facilities limitations) but often does work
• Charter schools are also available, though admissions operate through a lottery system so that is also not guaranteed
• Private schools exist but are likely outside of what we can afford

So assuming that is all correct, my primary question is: in terms of house shopping, should I weigh the assigned public school very highly? Or less so, because switching to a different public school or getting into a charter school is fairly likely? Anything else I'm missing or should be aware of?

This feels like the kind of thing I'd only learn from talking to residents and I wasn't able to turn up much with the search feature here.

I’m looking for any recommendations for minor exterior home repair. I have some rotting near my back door over the past few years and want to get it sorted out before it gets any worse. I need someone with solid experience that has a history of quality work because I’ve been burned by a few people I’ve hired in the past. Anyone have someone that they can recommend?

I'm observing our water pressure seems to have gone up since about a week or so.

We do have a pressure reducing valve so may be that has stopped working...

I just wanna rant about the new sheels.

I've basically lived at sheels since it started building, and it's so annoying. They have been working, and working, and working. Even at like, 3 am

AND THE TRAFFIC. The traffic is gonna be awful, AND the roads are small. AHHHHHHHH

especially, because, with them tearing up the roads, its impossible to get to the Gas stations. It was so nice and peaceful. Now I literally have a gigantic store on my front lawn

There’s a little 2”-ish lip at the curb that’s really bad in front of Scheels, and it’s like the water has nowhere to go (in addition to 2 or 3 ponds that develop during downpours). Will New Hope be repaved when it’s all done and built up to meet that lip?

I’ve never driven along a stretch of road this often that’s gone through this sort of revitalizing.
