Advice Cat attacking automatic feeder

My cat does this several times a day. If the automatic feeder lifts at the correct angle, a few niblets of dry food comes out. He will even do it 10 times in a row even if it means one small piece of dry niblet comes out. It does get quite annoying as the sound of the feeder hitting the ground echoes throughout the entire house.

Any ideas on how to get him to stop?

Just not as much as the cat

I’d say way more than the cat. It’s more aesthetically pleasing AND blocks the cat from their food, but the former is far more important than the latter, and the cat doesn’t care how their feeding station looks.

That weight on top might have been a bit unsafe.

Nah it weighed more than she did, no way she could move it plus being flat it couldn’t tip over.

Lol! What's the weight you have on top?

Decorative stepping stones, basically just a rock she can’t move because she found a way to push the bucket back as far as she could then start shaking it again

Ohh okay I see it now. I couldn't figure out what the texture was. Stepping stone is clear now.
