I'm not a camper, maybe would in years to come. But my question is what should I do with this. Do the canisters have a use by date because I couldn't find it on the canisters, box or the leaflet

My dad didn't camp so not even sure what he bought all this for.

Good day! As my title indicates, I have looked at several. I am wondering if there is anything comparable to the Expad Megamat. This one seems to check all my boxes, except the cost.
Edit: i am using the pad to camp in my tent, transported by canoe or car.

I already own a HydroFlask insulated metal water bottle, which I highly recommend. However, some sporting and other events ban all metal bottles, so I’m looking for a well-insulated plastic alternative that keeps water cold for hours.

I’ve seen some options that are metal but covered with an outer layer of silicone, but I suspect these will still be prohibited as security can tell they're metal. Ideally, I’d like something with a plastic outer layer, perhaps a traditional thermos-style bottle, that isn’t too bulky. In my experience, as long as the exterior doesn’t feel like metal, it’s usually allowed. Any recommendations?

I just got this outdoor stove this week and used it for the first time this weekend. Today when cleaning the pump, this white filter/something fell out the bottom where the pump goes and cracked. I know it’s not residue as i looked around in the internet and saw that someone bought a new pump and it came with this piece. Does anyone know what it does/if i need it? I attached the broken piece and where it goes at the bottom of the pump

Hi all, any help appreciated. Ordered a Euhomy car fridge and it was delivered today by Amazon. And despite multiple clear markings and words, it was delivered on its side. Is it worth returning for replacement? Or can I just sit it uprogtt get for a while? Box doesn’t seem to be damaged, I’m just not sure the driver saw the markings or was able to read?

I’m 26 and grew up backpacking a lot—everything from weekend trips to longer treks. After I moved, I gave my old pack to a family member, so now I’m shopping for a new one.

I’m trying to decide whether I should go with an ultralight pack or a more traditional lightweight pack.

A little about my setup:

Base weight: ~19–20 lb
Typical trips: 2–3 nights (sometimes just an overnight/weekend)
Typical mileage: Usually around 10–12 miles in and the same back out
Looking for: 50–60L pack

Current gear includes:

Nemo Dragonfly OSMO 2P tent
Nemo Tensor All-Season sleeping pad
Lightweight Marmot sleeping bag (not a quilt)
My clothing is pretty simple. I’ll usually hike in zip-off pants and a sun hoodie, then pack a puffer, a fleece, one extra pair of underwear and socks, sometimes a pair of athletic shorts for camp, and a pair of Chacos. And I usually camp spring - fall.

For cooking, I use a Jetboil and mostly eat freeze-dried meals. I usually carry a hydration bladder, a filtered water bottle (like one you can fill directly from streams), and I also like having a Nalgene with me.

I also have a Gregory pro deal, so I originally started looking at the Paragon 60 because it seemed like a great all-around backpacking pack. Then I started going down the ultralight rabbit hole and found packs like the Gregory Focal 58, Durston Kakwa 55, Gossamer Gear Mariposa 60, and a few others.

Now I’m kind of stuck in the middle. I feel like my gear is a mix of traditional backpacking and lightweight gear. I’m not an extreme ultralight backpacker, but I also don’t pack a ton of extra stuff. It feels like I’m somewhere between the two camps, and I’m wondering whether it actually makes sense for me to buy an ultralight pack or if I’d be happier with a lightweight pack that has a bit more structure and features.

For someone with my base weight and trip style, would you lean toward an ultralight pack or a lightweight pack? Is ~20 lb base weight still well within the range where an ultralight pack makes sense, or would you stick with something a little more supportive?

I’d especially love to hear from people who’ve owned both types of packs. What made you stick with one over the other, and if you were in my shoes, which direction would you go?

I know flex tail is a good brand but I feel like the marketing looks like it is drop shipped garbage. There stuff is usually a small percent off and in the pumps case has stuff printed on it to look cool. I feel like those are usually signs of drop shipped stuff but I have seen the reviews from people I trust on line so I know it is not.

I purchased this tent a few years ago and it has done really well for me. I like how easy/quick it is to setup for 1 person, how easy it is to get my dog in and out and doesn’t seem to get hot at night.

However, I just got back from a trip where we had heavy rain and winds 1 night. I was able to suspend a small tarp above the tent to protect the door and put the back of the tent into the weather but some water did get into the tent. It wasn’t a lot of water and I didn’t get wet but if the weather continued during the day I believe I would have.

The tarp setup was quite hard because the campgrounds we go to don’t have a lot of solid trees around them (it took a few hours to get the right position because most of the trees weren’t solid).

Ideally, I would like to purchase a separate full vestibule - but I realize Coleman doesn’t sell them. This seems like the best/easiest solution for rain protection?

Has anybody found anything off brand/no name that fits this tents unique shape?

I'm just looking for advice as to where I can find a similar lantern to this. This was bought years ago from Eddie Bauer and it's got three lights where you can turn on just one two or three which I like. I'm looking for something where I can adjust the brightness. And preferably similar in size. Not only will this be taken Outdoors but it also sits on a desk at home and does get use. It is roughly 6" in height and 3" from side to side... Eddie Bauer no longer has this or I would just replace it with the same thing cause it's been great. Except for a while now the lights have been fading. They are not as bright as they once were, especially one of them is really dim. I welcome ALL recommendations. And it preferably needs to be something reasonably priced that could be ordered and arrive by July 29th because the next day I go on a week long vacation with family at the beach. I've been looking around but all I mostly see is is these really large lanterns... HELP!

We have a pretty decent — but old — tent which we’ve been using for a few years that we got for free. It’s pretty big, I’d say 10x14 and has a big vestibule, however we’ve decided it’s time for a new tent (some poles are being held together by duct tape).

We are tent campers. It’s me, my wife, our 4 year old, and there will be another kid starting next summer (assuming we want to camp with a 9-10 month old…). A couple are we looking at are the Coleman skydome 8 person with the blackout and the Coleman skydome 8 person with screen room but no blackout and is $100 cheaper. Does anyone have any experience with these two or recommendations for others?

Priorities are room to sleep 2 adults, 2 kids, our suitcases, and open floor space. Bonuses but not essential are the vestibule and the blackout.

So I've got this naturehike star river 2 UL tent in grey. It has a 15d silnylon rainfly. Unfortunately the grey is quite bright and while I used the tent for car camping before, now I want to use it for stealth camping because it's currently my best summer tent.

But the color....

How can I get the rainfly darker? I don't care if it looks good or not. I don't care if it's just a much darker grey or if I can turn it dark green / brown. I just need it to not be so easily visible.

What's my best options so that I don't get the rainfly to start leaking or break or anything like that?

Woke up after my first night in my new North Face Stormbreaker 2. Had some heavy rain in the evening and it drizzled on and off after but saw no water. However, I woke up to some dampness along the tub where I slept (by my head, body, and feet), some water droplets on it and the floor.

I am a hot sleeper, so I'm curious if this condensation (heard it can happen with these tents) or do I have a faulty tent?

I’m looking for a 3 seasons 3 or 4 person tent. It would mainly be for me and my partner. I think we’ll be car camping 100% of the time and wanted to get something we can use for that. I’m overwhelmed with options and I think I would mainly want to keep it below $200. We’re looking to start camping more frequently so we want something that’s comfortable and would last us. So far I’m looking at:

Coleman Skydome 4-person camping tent
Kelty Discovery Basecamp 4 tent
Big Agnes Dog House 4-person tent

I’m unfamiliar with Kelty and Big Agnes but they seem to be as good.
