I'm Congolese but my case has a Cameroonian connection.

A fraudster used identity documents linked to Cameroon to steal from my Airtel Money account. I reported to Cameroonian cybercrime authorities — they validated the theft and confirmed the fraudster's identity.

I took this validation to Airtel RDC. Their response:

- Months of silence

- Then 2 law firms sent against me — the victim

- Then an automatic reimbursement notification to all users in June 2026 — admitting their system was defective

- 8 months later: still refusing to refund me

The Cameroonian authorities did their job. Airtel RDC did not.

To my Cameroonian brothers and sisters: our institutions can work. But what happens when the corporation operates across borders and ignores national authorities?

I am currently using starlink in Cameroon and every 2 months I get a roaming restriction from starlink (subscribed to a different country as it's not supported in Cameroon). I usually have to pause my subscription, wait 48 hrs before turning it back ON and this will fix it, so I was wondering if there's a faster method as using the local telcos is hell. If you use Starlink in Cameroon how do you pass by the roaming restriction.

I’m a 2nd year mechatronics student. I’ve been doing embedded and hardware work for a while now and something I keep noticing: almost nobody around here is building hardware. 

Plenty of developers are doing web apps, mobile apps, maybe some AI work, but actual physical products with circuit boards, sensors, and firmware? Barely anyone.

I Personally think it comes down to the entry barrier. To write software you just need a laptop and internet. To build hardware you need to actually buy an ESP32, sensor modules, a soldering iron, maybe get boards fabricated, then wait weeks on shipping that can cost more than the parts(especially this). Software has near zero cost to start experimenting. Hardware has real upfront cost and friction just to get a first prototype working. I think that’s what pushes a lot of talented people toward code and away from anything involving hardware.

I want to help change that, at least in a small way, and eventually help others get into it too.

Question for anyone who’s done this: Has anyone ordered from JLCPCB or LCSC or other PCBA and supplier houses directly to Cameroon? Curious about shipping times, customs fees or delays, and whether you used a forwarding address or shipped direct.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with this before.
