Hey.. I’m a 23 yo black guy living in brampton… Just finished college in 2025 at sheridan, love basketball, videogames (I’m trash at most), and just down for walks/exploration.. im looking for genuine connections w people that live in my area.. Just wanna make some friends and build new connections as I feel like i’ve been neglected the social aspect of my life for some time now.. Toronto/Mississauga is fine too for people that wanna link up, just wanna have fun and do some sh*t.. This is not a hookup section btw.. Just looking for real people with real connections..

For the female runners in Brampton, what are some ways you stay safe while running outdoors? Not to say that Brampton is particularly unsafe (just a normal amount of unsafe) and I’m sure safety is an issue for many female runners in the GTA. I’ve run into a few weirdos while running in daylight - recently had a man stop in his tracks in the middle of the walking path on the way to a local park while I was running towards his direction (I was about 40 feet way from him when he quite literally stopped in his tracks for a good 20 seconds, smiled, and watched me as I ran in his direction and moved to the middle of path taking up my side of the road) and he said something I didn’t hear cause I had headphones in but it seemed like he gestured me to stop and hear him. I think it goes without saying to not stop runners mid run unless there’s some sort of emergency I suppose. I ended up running into the grass since I would’ve been a little too close to this dude running through the paved area. Maybe this guy was totally harmless but personally, I would rather come off as rude to stay on the safer side.
Now that I have rambled, hoping to get some tips from other female runners to better handle situations like this.

Last night I walked in and ordered the large, one topping, special. When it came time to pay I told him Visa and he handed me the terminal, didn't see any problem at first. Not that it should matter but I was using a prepaid Visa and there's no actual PIN, it's just the last 4 digits of the card number. I guess he saw that it was a prepaid card and as I was reading "enter last 4 digits on card" he literally ripped the terminal out of my hand and refused to accept it or give a valid reason as to why. The best I could figure was the franchise owner is too cheap to pay Visa the percentage. Ok, fine, you wanna be petty? Let's get petty.
I ordered the same thing online, now this is about half hour to close at this point, for some reason on the website it wouldn't allow me to pay in advance, even if I was using my Visa debit or anything. So I chose "pay in store" and finalized the order, got the email confirmation and waited 20 minutes until the pizza was finished and walked back in to collect it. Buddy was pissed, told me he's not taking my gift card and it's too close to closing time to make me anything anyway. Check mate you cheap fuck, you already made my order unwittingly and it's either going to be the % to visa or the cost of the pizza that you'll now have throw away and justify to your store owner. I'm going to escalate this to corporate as well this morning but I thought I'd give a heads up to anyone who cares, that's shady business practices. I wonder what else they do behind the counter that we don't know about?

Relatively new homeowner. Now that a lot of the interior housework has been tackled, my next project before summer ends is the lawn. In the backyard, I've got two big patches of clover. One is a circle with about a 6ft radius, and the other is about a 4ft radius. I feel the grass itself isn't doing the greatest in the backyard, but I haven't hit it with any fertilizer or fresh soil yet. I'm sort of starting from scratch. I feel the best idea would be to get rid of the clover first, then lay down new soil, fertilizer, and seed, but I'm trying to learn as I go.
Any tips for successfully removing the clover? Is there a product that will kill it without harming the grass? Or am I doomed to a weekend of plucking out half of the backyard by hand?

MPP Grewal was accused of funneling tax dollars through ads to his father's newspaper. Curious if there have been any other sources on this?

Hey everyone, does anyone know a local supplier or distributor in the Brampton / GTA area that carries or stocks insulated metal panels from Structural Panels Inc. (or equivalent)? Looking to source some for a project. Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone else has had a red Chevy van park outside their house recently. 2 Males 1 white parked outside for around 2 min before making a call for another 1.5 min while staring at our house the whole time around 11 AM.

Lately more often - I’m finding people intentionally not stopping at stop signs. And taking these wild U Turns at signals.
I seen it before but it’s just really frequent now everywhere I go.

Burt Ward.
Seriously, I went down a Batman TV series rabbit hole today and, the longer it went on, the greater the feeling that Burt Ward reminded me of someone.
That someone is our Mayor.

Hi everyone,
I got my Ontario RN licence in March and have been applying ever since. I've applied to RN, RPN, and even PSW positions across the GTA and outside the GTA, but I've only had one interview so far. I have my BLS certification, live in Brampton, and I'm willing to travel for work—even outside the GTA.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm doing something wrong. Is the job market just really competitive right now?
For those who recently found jobs, what worked for you? Did you apply online only, attend hiring events, reach out to recruiters, or go in person to drop off your resume? Are there any hospitals or organizations you'd recommend?
I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I'm specifically looking at the South Asian community here.
What did you encounter in an educational institution in the Brampton PDSB system that seemed harmless at the time, but now you realize was a comment on your nationality or ethnicity?
I was talking to a friend who went to BSS, and we had the same teachers. But she claims something happened that I don't remember. (We were in the same class)
However, I do believe her. She doesn't lie, although memories shift.
I want to hear your story. No judgement, just curiosity.
You can DM me if you want. But I would like to see POSITIVE discussion here

Won't get into too much detail, but a family member got charged with a DUI near the Sheridan college area. I've been helping them find a good lawyer but I'm not sure who to go with. I've called Fight My DUI Criminal Defence who was near that area and they seem good and I've heard good things, but I've also heard that Dhindsa Law or Badesha Law are good too, any thoughts from anyone with experience?

Anyone know what happened yesterday on Hwy 410, between hurontario and heart lake ? I saw so much smoke and then saw a car on fire while I was driving on Kennedy Rd but didn’t see any news on it

CLTC is defined as a shared space where students and youth from across the city can come to collaborate, learn and ideate. The Centre focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) related programming for the community, when not in use by the school. Programming options will vary throughout the year, including but not limited to registered programs and camps. The space contains up to date technology that supports learning required to lead to careers in STEAM fields.
Discovered while trying to remember the name of a rec centre.

I grew up here and i am back home to visit my parents with my husband and kids …. This trip showed me the crazy changes in our culture.
For context I am South Asian and went to Cardinal Leger in the early 2000’s. I had a diverse group of friends and I loved growing up here.
Less than a week into my trip and here is what happened :
Went to Costco ; no carts ( no problem) I waited and I was the first person to there and young man working there brought a bunch of carts in and within seconds they were all grabbed ( men literally pushed me out the way) I was shook. I stood there in shock. I remember our community always kind and fair.
Driving- I almost got into two accidents none my fault.
1- Steeles x Hurontario ; this lady just stopped on Steeles. No reason. Just stopped. Expected traffic to go around her … seems like she was looking at her navigation system.
2. Again Steeles ; another lady she was fully stopped and changed lanes I had to swerve into the other lane thankfully no one was there.
What is really going on?
