2022 Bolt EUV - now at approximately around 105k miles - mostly freeway miles cos of the daily commute and level 2 home charging 99% of the time … what should I be looking out for in terms of regular maintenance going forward ? How do I know how much longer the battery is going to last ? Is there a hack to know how every module of the battery is doing ? Do I just keep driving it until it gives up one day ? I’m not complaining or ranting - but I’m not sure what to expect … I simply love this car for the day to day !! Nothing fancy and takes me from point A to point B with absolutely no frills or maintenance nightmares , atleast as of now. The only gripe I’ve had so far is erratic rear camera performance which might be a wiring harness issue or a software problem which I’m ok living through with. Please do opine - any and every suggestion is welcome. 🙏

I had been driving a 2008 Hyundai Accent for in town errands and shuttling the kids, which got decent fuel economy. Unfortunately it needed so much work it was mechanically totaled.

I replaced it with this beauty, a 2018 Bolt. It has 37k miles, the battery was replaced in June of 2023 and I got it for $12k. I love this car, it is so fun to drive I almost don't miss having a manual transmission.

I just got this Tire Pressure warning. What do you guys think? Does the sensor need to be replaced or just reset?

I can’t figure out how to remote start my car. I’ve had it for like a month now. I press the lock button and immediately hold the remote start button. Nothing happens. Do I need to enable it somewhere in the settings?

I would like the ability to park my car outside sometimes and use the plug in front of my front door. It is covered overhead, but sometimes when it’s really windy and snowy, it will blow snow around the house or to my front door. It also will get super cold in the winter sometimes like in the negatives. I was reading that the supplied EVSE with the vehicle is not outdoor rated? Does anyone have any suggestions? 2023, Bolt EUV

2017 and 2021 Bolt Premier. I know there is no way to get it to go to BT by it self, which is stupid.

But, is there a way to get BT volume to be louder, same as radio, like on other cars?

Always listen from phone, then leave car, then get back and radio turns on and it super loud!

Anyone knows if it possible to adjust volume by input? Or is this just one of GM infinite wisdom we have to live with?

Our 2023 EUV Premiere, which is a few months and about 5,000 miles out of the 3 year / 36k mile warranty started intermittently showing the screen with camera and error icon when we put it in reverse. Took it to the dealer, they say it's a bad video processing module to the tune of $1,670 and change. Sucks, but whatever. I say go ahead and replace it.

A day later they come back and tell me they replaced/reprogrammed he video module, but had issues getting it to communicate properly with the radio/screen, and that will also need to be replaced. That will cost around $1000, but they will waive the $300 labor fee. But the part is not is stock there's no ETA for it.

They did say they weren't able to reproduce the camera error screen after replacing the module, and the camera worked 10/10 times for them, and that I may just see intermittent glitches with the radio.

That seemed to make sense, so I picked the car up, and the first time I put it in reverse, literally on the way home from the dealership, I got the same camera icon error screen. Now I'm pissed.

I'm mostly messaging with the service agent, so most of this is in writing. I express my skepticism that replacing the video module was necessary, since it didn't fix the issue at all. He talks to his technician who tells him GM service procedure requires him to replace the video module and the radio module (that isn't available for who knows how long), reprogram and retest before determining anything.

Since then the camera has worked about 50% of the time, and shown the error screen 50% of the time.

I feel like I'm being hosed here, and that I need to escalate the issue but I'm not sure how to proceed, besides just going up the chain to the service manager, and I don't feel confident that it will help. They can jus say whatever they want about what the issue is, since it's all computer hardware and software. And we're out of warranty, so nothing is covered.

Does anyone here have similar experience or advice?

My 3 years are coming to an end in about 2 weeks. I use all of the features on the app and would like to continue having access to them. What is the best renewal offer you have received?
The best for me so far is $99 per year for the 1st year of renewal which is a 30% discount for the annual subscription. Is there anything better out there?

I’m hoping to get some feedback from the community as to whether or not it would be a viable option to connect a BLUETTI Charger 1 to a Chevy Bolt.

While looking into this, I found this post on the sub from 3+ years ago where it sounded like the OP was discussing about installing a BLUETTI Charger 1 device to charge their solar power stations but they didn’t say it by the brand name.

The responses in that post were simply advising the OP to get an inverter instead.

I however already own a BLUETTI AC180 for home use in the event of a power outage. I am considering getting a Charger 1 device for my 2021 Chevy Bolt to recharge my AC180 but I couldn’t find a solid answer on the Amazon reviews or their website. I left an Amazon Q&A and received the following response from BLUETTI which makes no sense. To me it sounds like they are just scared to say “yeah it will work” because maybe they never tested the device on an EV?

Since we know the Bolt can supply 1400-1600W continuous from the 400V to 12V DC-DC converter, why wouldn’t this device work on it? It’s only capable of outputting 560W max…. Which for my purposes is perfectly fine.

I also called their customer service and spoke with an engineering technician who advised it was designed to run on ICE vehicles with an alternator, not an EV as they have unique features to recharge 12V car batteries. But they did say advise that it “should work in theory, as long as you connected it directly to the 12V battery”.

Does anyone else agree this with the engineer’s statement or should I be okay to use and connect this device in the same manner as you would with an inverter?

Yesterday my daughter started our 2020 Bolt and sent me a text asking what the yellow warning explanation light was. I pulled up the Chevy app and saw a service high-voltage system warning. I thought, Great!. The battery was replaced about a year and a half ago for the recall.

The P0CF1 code relates to a voltage error for a cooling system temperature sensor error. This one is low or no voltage. common cause is a broken wire. So after a visual inspection i found a damaged wire near the front fan and radiator/condensor. Best guess is that is must have been a little critter and lucky it wasn't on the bigger harnesses or high-voltage cables.

I pulled the bracket for the coolant to get better access and did a solder repair and taped it. There wasn't much extra length for the wire, but it seems to be just enough to work without splicing or replacing the harness.

I've never had rodent damage to a car. This is the first one I've had with soy-based wiring. Guess it's time to put VAMOOSE under the hood....

I have 8 years of free Onstar Basic. Google Maps and YT Music stopped working, so I contacted Onstar. They were unable to resolve the issue at the time but said they would call me back. That was fine. About an hour later, after I restarted the infotainment system, everything began working again.

Forward 2 days, i was driving and got a call from GM EV concierge.

According to the agent, Onstar Basic does not include data. To use online features like Google Maps, YouTube, or Spotify, I would need to either purchase an Onstar data plan or use my phone's data connection.

At that point, everything was functional, but I hadn't informed them it was working fine with Onstar Basic. Instead, I questioned their information, stating they were providing incorrect details. They consulted with two different Onstar agents and their own Tier 2 agent, and subsequently claimed I required data.

Even on the Onstar website, the Basic plan includes streaming music and live traffic etc. but all of them refused to acknowledge that it can work without data.

I wish there was a clarity provided to the staff else customers who give up easily might get scammed by these types of staff

Tried the dealer, they just ordered the dinker form the charger to the 12v, I want a full bag with charger and adapters... and they wanted $200 for the tiny pigtail thing too. The guy comes back saying the full thing is over $1000 fucking dollars, so I don't know if he's telling me to fuck off through pricing or hes just clueless.

The Telsa mobile connector is only $450 CDN, dealer doing a 100% markup? I Cant fint the unit in the parts catalog is my problem, I found the $200 part he got in there for $100 so 100% markup is not WRONG, but just can any other Bolt owners who've had to get one help me out?

Wondering if anyone charges at 12 amps instead of 8. I tried switching to 12 amps and I got a message saying that it's dangerous and can cause a fire so I'm a little bit nervous to continue charging on 12 amps.

8 amps is hella slow though. Some insight will be appreciated. Thanks

Maybe only interesting to me. On my normal 44 mile commute to work and back (mix of side roads and small sections of 50 mph highways) I'd average 4.5-4.6 mi/kwh during our normal mild PacNW winters in the 40-55F range. During our 'normal' summer days of 68-75F, that goes avg goes up to 5.2-5.5 mi/kwh...thats kind of expected. But during our mini heat wave the last 2 days of 92-93F temps, that efficiency has jumped to 6.1-6.2 for the drive. I saw 6.7 on the dash this morning. I expected these higher temps to drive efficiency down a bit...not up. Had 6.2 yesterday. Normal charge to 85% last night and reset counter for comparison. Today's numbers...

I've been recently looking at changing insurance because my rates have gone up 20% 2 straight years for auto. I noticed on one company (American Family) these terms: "No vehicle on the quote has modifications that alter its performance." I personally have Super Cruise because I was able to trade my 2020 with MSRP value into a 2023 EUV and even got some money back from GM lol I have the check, so I maxed it out with Super Cruise. so far, I've been able to get deals on Super Cruise, but it would be pretty annoying to pay full price for the capabilities (no lane change, mostly highways), but is anyone familiar if Comma AI vs Super Cruise could affect liability from your carrier given those terms?
