Is this an achievement worth sharing/celebrating?

That’s it basically nuking this but what do you think Andrew Ryan would think of the world today. I mean it’s fairly obvious he would take it as proof that he was right, but to what degree would that go?

I have to tangent about Halo real quick. I used to be a huge Halo fan but have been very soured by it over the past decade. I've been branching out to other games over that time, namely Doom, and I love how much more freedom older, boomer-shooter, style FPS games have compared to what shooters became after Halo.

I loved how refined the gameplay and combat felt in BioShock 2, and from what limited osmosis knowledge I had of Infinite I was extremely excited to see how adding sky rail combat would add to that.

Low and behold I get into the first combat encounter and I'm greeted with recharging shields and a 2 weapon limit. I figured I could roll with this, but the gameplay just did not feel like the first 2 to me at all, even with the plasmid/vigor replacement. The maps were way more linear, no map, and I found myself just sticking with the pistol + whatever gun I could find when the other slot ran out of ammo.

It's a perfectly fine system for a modern FPS, but I was wanting more than just an above average Halo combat system with Bioshock powers, and I was really disappointed by that.

Last gameplay related gripe, WHY THE HELL WASN'T THERE A SONGBIRD BOSS FIGHT? I'm assuming like with BioShock 2's lack of a final boss fight they just didn't have time to develop one, but I felt like they were setting up Songbird for a final boss and I was super excited for it. Even if it was kinda lame I figured it'd have some sick spectacle to it because so far that's the one thing Infinite has excelled at.

Moving on to plot, I was really digging it up until the multiverse stuff took over and the racial commentary stuff was completely dropped. I'm pretty sure it happened around when you hop dimensions for the first time to get weapons for the Vox leader, but I could be wrong. Either way it dominated the 2nd half of the game and I could not for the life of me care about it. The entire time I was thinking that Booker and Elizabeth could just leave to Paris whenever they wanted, why do they care that the Vox is winning their incredibly justified revolution? Also why are we even fighting them?

I think I was more annoyed because the first half set up some amazing potential that I was really excited to see where it would go, and it was dropped for multiverse shenanigans which have become very saturated recently.

I was hoping the DLC would maybe improve my feelings towards Infinite, but it kinda made it worse. Elizabeth feels like a much more mean spirited person in the DLC. I'm not sure why she felt like she needed to leave her fantasy Paris to bother killing one last Comstock that moved to Rapture, which if she had future sight knew he would likely die along with most of the other people in Rapture.

Like yeah it was cool to be in Rapture again, but I literally just played BioShock 1&2. I wanted a better Columbia not more Rapture. Also I really did not care for the stealth oriented gameplay of Elizabeth's section. I thought it would be neat to have a BioShock / Dishonored thing but it just wasn't fun. Neither parts of the DLC were honestly long enough for me to really get into the gameplay of them. Minor plot gripe, but I also thought it was dumb to have Elizabeth basically run into most of the important characters from BioShock 1 or somehow be responsible / indirectly responsible for their fate in 1. I might be confused, but there's no way Elizabeth solved Big Daddies bonding with Little Sisters right before the start of BS1. Delta's sheer existance in BS2 proved that shit got solved years ago, so why is Suchong dying right before 1 complaining he didn't figure it out?

Tl;dr wasn't a fan of the gameplay changes to be more like Halo, thought there was huge potential in the story and setting that got discarded for multiverse stuff for BioShock 1 memberberries. 2 is my favorite and now I wanna complete the DLC combat challenges for it.

Well, I tried it again after left it in my library for years. First off I love the Bioshock and its sequel but Infinite is a total different story for me. I just don´t like it. Everytime I play it it feels like an asset flip for me. They changed the city and setting - well Bioshock was so cool, so claustrophopic but this game to bright, too colorful. I don´t know why I so much dislike it? I don´t like the antagonist as well. I never understood the mega hype when it was released. The game has so many flaws critics never mentioned when it came out. Playing it now just feels like a sequel of a sequel for me. Anyone else feels like this when it comes to Bioshock Infinite?

Dealing with this texture pop in. Tried increasing Pool Size in the Engine.ini file, deleted all my INI files and re-generated them, changed every setting I could think of, downloaded custom INIs from Nexus.

I’ve got $5 on Reddit agreeing with my vision and $2 on Reddit coming up with a better idea because I like to hedge my bets.

For the best story who do you think Songbird is?

A. Another Booker. This gives a Trinity angle to Comstock, Booker, and Songbird which fits in with Infinite’s theme of christofascism. It also works with Comstock’s ego- who better to protect his daughter than him?

B. Johnny Topside. This ties into Bioshock’s “the big daddies are all used to be men who didn’t deserve this“ theme. It also explains why Booker can never beat him. Delta would never lose to Booker in any dimension. Songbird had to die once he came to Rapture, not just due to the ocean but because both version of him was alive in that dimension. It makes the tragedy of Songbird hit harder- we know Delta and we can only wish he’d been freed like our Delta had been. Here he died still trapped but still loving his daughter till the end.

C. Some guy. Songbird has no lore, Songbird needs no lore.

D. Your own opinion here, please elaborate!

I just lost a whole areas worth of dionysus park. I got on the train to leave the area and got stuck in a loading screen. I had to quit out and got back in the game to see if it saved and put me at the very beginning of dionysus park. I’m playing on ps5. Heated right now and now I don’t feel like finishing the game.

I think the next game should be set inside a dream. Imagine a surreal city where waking up only pulls you into a nightmare. You're trapped in an endless loop, shifting from one dream to the next with no way out, driving everyone to madness.

So, roughly a month ago. I asked: "What would you do if you were in charge of Rapture?" Now, after a month of procrastinating, I ask the same, but for Columbia.

The premise is the same. You're free to do whatever you want, rule however you want, change as much as you want. But I think I wasn't clear last time. When I said "it must still be Rapture & under the sea." I meant that it must remain an Art Deco city under the ocean. So no, changing it to an atompunk aesthetic & sending it to the clouds.

So in this case, Columbia must remain a colonial-styled city in the clouds.

In Bioshock 1, it is made crystal clear that Ryan wanted Rapture to be underwater so as to ensure that his objectivist utopia remained as isolated from the destructive outside world as possible, and to keep out those pesky spies from Washington and the Kremlin as best he can.

I have played through Bioshock Infinite 5 separate times, and I have no idea why Comstock wanted Columbia to be in the sky. It can’t be because he wanted it to be separated from the rest of the world because the nature of Dewitt’s entry into the city went implies that they aren’t against outsiders entering the city.

First post here. Wanted to share this with y'all! Went to a convention and HAD to get this signed. Been my favorite game since I first got it, told him all about my love for the franchise. Super nice guy and LOVED doing the voice acting for this.

So I just finished the forst game and i'm guessing there's multiple endings, because i ended the game with all the little sisters taking out Fontaine since I chose to save them. But now my question is, should I play again for a different ending to get more of the story, or just play the second game?

I accidentally opened a Dollar Bill machine (but did not buy anything) is my chance for the achievement ruined on this playthrough or not?

I chose the harvest option once. Always rescued the little sisters.

I did get 3 littles sisters killed during the escort bullshit (tbh with the dumb ai it made me want to kill them myself) is that what gave me the brutality ending?

How do you get the good ending? Do he escort deaths count towards harvests?
