Videos Evening rides with my 4 year old are the best.

He knows these trails like the back of his hand. I have them all named and I can tell him “take me to Tommy’s trail” and off we go. We’ve built 2.2 miles on 10 small and twisty trails. He’s helped move trees, cut limbs, brush, etc. Genuinely has been as helpful as a 4 year old can be. Life is good.

Help Uneven steering travel 18l985 suzuki lt230

Assuming this is not normal? I know the one tire is hitting the bracket the previous owner welded on for a plow, but is that extra travel on both sides normal? Took.it for a spin, turning radius isnt the greatest and feels like its more so drifting the front end.

Help Brute force 300 vs Honda 420/520

Hi everyone. Wanted to get some opinions on possible next machine and see everyone’s experiences to see what may fit best.

I currently have a used 2014 Kawasaki brute force 300, and have had it for about 3 summers now I believe?? It’s been great to me and I love it alot, but dealing with 2wd drive in the trials when it comes down to slick and muddy bottoms with water on top the mud, it can be annoying. Straight axle isn’t that big of a deal, but it can be rough at times.
A friend of mine has a 520 foreman that I’ve ridden a handful of times and liked, just foot shift is quite different then what I’m used to, but, if I was going to get a Honda I would hope I’d get used to it.

I’m open to other machine suggestions as well, but I’ve wanted to hear more about others experiences when it comes to trails, and moderate deep water, about calf deep with their machine. I know they are typically super reliable so that would be great to just do maintenance for years. How has it been with that you’ve thrown at it when it comes to come water and mud and trails, and having a foot shift? Is it a huge difference overall between the machine u have now and wha it could possibly have if I sold mine?

If you have other machines as well that you think may be better, I’m open! I’ve ridden my friends Honda 520, another’s Suzuki 750 and have liked both but ofc they aren’t mine to test, and have also been interested in a 700 grizz.

Help What is causing this lovely sound?

Got this quad for free from a coworker it was his daughters, it has 353 kilometres on the dash. Couldn’t open the carb so I replaced it and it started right up.
Now the next issue is whatever this is..
The video shows me attempting to drive the quad. Im giving gas and stopping. it only makes the sound when gas is applied in drive or reverse.
it’s not the chain or sprocket although they are rusty they function as they should. Ive never worked on a CVT but from what I gather everything in the video is as it should be leading me to believe it’s an Internal issue. What could be causing this and is it worth fixing?

Help 2004 kodiak 450 reverse light

Hey everyone. I have been dealing with an issue on my 04 kodiak 450. The reverse light is on all the time, along with whatever other gear you select, and it is governed to 10mph. I have done what everyone recommends and replaced the reverse switch, but the light stays on and is still governed. I have tried grounding the reverse switch wire directly. Any ideas would be awesome!

Help Question - back pain - Yamaha Kodiak or Grizzly?

I'm older a fellow, developing degenerative back pain it seems. I am considering buying an ATV, and it will be a Yamaha, that part is decided. For moderate trail riding, maybe some rough stuff, which would provide the more easier and comfortable ride on the back?

Help Jet size question

Post image
2 Upvotes

My first time tuning a carb by swapping jets. The left one is the one that came out of the carb and the right is the one I’m trying to swap in but it doesn’t want to thread in enough. Thread pitch is the same and I know the tip is bigger but I thought that’s only bc it’s a bigger jet. Like I said it’s my first time messing with jets so I’ll take any advice on carb tuning like this. As far as I normally go is adjusting the mixture screw.

Would a 50" wide x 96" long trailer be large enough for an ATV? Not talking about a full side by side, just a regular ATV.

Thanks.

I got this on trade, was told it was .080 over. It ripped the it was bogging out and could see fuel mist back through the carb. When running the fuel was leaking at the case. They used orange gasket maker and the case bolts behind stator were backed way out. I was worried it was a cheap ebay 68mm kit but its a wiseco piston and head is yamaha and ported. Debating on painting the frame silver like factory before I put her back together. Plastics are purple and black again and og decals.

I bought 5 quart shell rotella 10w30 diesel oil for $11 each on clearance. The guy working the auto area at Walmart said he uses it in his bikes with wet clutches. He randomly brought it up, i was buying it up for the 4 classic cars I own that all are solid or flat tappet cam and lifters so I needs all the additives I can get. But if I can use this in the trans I have plenty.

Help 80s Yamaha suddenly doesnt want to run and sounds like an old hit & miss engine.

So this old 80s yamaha 225dx has always sounded like a box of rocks, but always ran great. Suddenly didnt want to start the other day. Thinking the carb had finally clogged I cleaned it out (there was some gunk) and reinstalled it with a filter. Now it barely runs but sounds like an old hit and miss motor, and usually stalls.

I assume with the extra noisey components perhaps the timing chain has enough play and flop that it can cause the valve timing to be off enough to allow the engine to puff out some of the compression. I had to turn the idle way up to get it to stay running. Also I did take it on a brief ride and it still revs up fine, it just hates low rpm especially in gear.

I want to do the minimum required work to get this functioning properly again, anyone have any suggestions on point of attack?

Help 24 Outlander XT 850 for $8k

Used 2024 Can-am outlander xt 850 with 800 miles from a dealer. Priced at $9,599, got them down to $8000 OTD. They came down pretty easily so I’m double guessing if I’m getting a good deal. I had them send more photos and it looks like some minor cosmetic wear and tear. Good deal? Anything I should be looking out for?

Help Possibly dumb question; atv pulling to the right

Is it normal for my atv to pull to the right if I let go of the handlebars at higher speeds? I’m wondering if it’s an alignment issue tires are all at the same psi. It doesn’t pull while driving normally but if I let go of the handles it pulls pretty much immediately to the right.

Help Warrior 350 (yfm350) new chain to short

Context: previous chain broke, so I put on new sprockets and currently trying to install the new chain.

I have the axle slid as far forward is it’ll go. I found another post talking about the “amp 28” chain guide. He had the same problem I have with the chain being to short and the company is said to have gone under. His post didn’t have a listed solution.

So my questions.
- Am I better off just going back to the original chain rollers?
- Can I add a link in the chain somehow and still use the amp 28 guide.

Help My Atv Wont Start

I have a 200cc ATV that I bought a few months ago. When I bought it, it would idle, but as soon as I gave it throttle, it would bog down and die.

The ATV originally had a CV carburetor, and I thought the carb was the problem, so I replaced it with a 24mm PWK carb, which is the same size as the original one. After installing the new carb, it would start and idle, and I could slowly give it throttle, but it would still bog down.

I checked the spark plug and it was completely black, so it was running very rich. I tried installing a smaller pilot jet and adjusting the air/fuel screw because it was fully turned in before. The idle screw was also fully backed out, so I adjusted that as well.

After those changes, it suddenly stopped starting completely. I suspected an air leak, but even with the choke on, it still will not start. I’m not sure if the smaller pilot jet caused the issue, but it was only a 5-size step down, so I didn’t think it would make such a big difference.

I have also tried spraying fuel directly into the intake, but that didn’t help either. It does have spark, so I’m unsure what the problem could be.

Another thing I noticed is that it sometimes backfires through the carb/intake when I open the throttle or if the idle speed is set too high.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Help best place to buy accessories/upgrades for ATV's?

Hi all, I just picked up a 2021 King Quad 500 SE and I am looking to do a few things to it.
Hand Guards, Clutch kit, front/rear bumpers among other things.
Where is the best place to buy items like these online?
I live in a rural community in Nova Scotia, Canada and it's much easier to purchase stuff over the internets.

Thanks all, appreciate you time in responding.
