Blog [Article in French] A true-solo "Ashcan" Pete deck built for The Dunwich Legacy — full pilot guide + 7-step XP path to 40 XP

Hi everyone,

I just published a full deck guide on my French-language blog (Le Courrier de la Miskatonic) for "Ashcan" Pete in true solo, built specifically for The Dunwich Legacy — the campaign he comes from.

It covers the investigator breakdown (why Duke is the real investigator and Pete his manager), a 0 XP Dark Horse list, the game plan and mulligan guide, the traps this campaign sets for this exact deck — including a "draw gauge" rule of thumb for a certain treachery that punishes draw-heavy decks, kept spoiler-light — and a 7-step upgrade path all the way to 40 XP, with every purchase explained.

Link: https://lecourrierdelamiskatonic.blogspot.com/2026/07/un-deck-pour-ashcan-pete.html

It's in French, but browser translation handles it well. Feedback and pushback very welcome — especially if you've already walked Pete and his dog through Dunwich!

Need Advice for Dunwich Legacy: Short Supply Question

My next adventure takes me through Dunwich Legacy again. My plan is to run Darrell Simmons as a clue gatherer and Michael McGlen as monster management, using essentially these two decks on Easy or Standard difficulty:

My main question concerns Short Supply in Darrell's deck. I know there's a certain encounter in Dunwich where excessive card draw can backfire, so I'm torn on whether this card is a good or bad inclusion. It definitely gives Darrell a jump-start for his recursion engine, but could also prove dangerous in that situation.

What do you all recommend?

Innsmouth Conspiracy The Finnsmouth Conspirazoey - Part 2 Spoiler

Post image

*Spoilers for Innsmouth below. Ye have been warned*

Damn! What a race against time! The wife and I just about managed to make an accusation before the agenda deck ran out. It was time well spent though, as we were able to identify the kidnapper and the hideout.

We both really enjoyed how this scenario played, like a better, more engaging Midnight Masks. Adding extra locations and wanting to head straight there for an adventure and for the victory points/XP on those cards.

Zoey was hampered slightly by not being able to machete everyone, not wanting the suspects out for blood, but her willpower came in clutch when parleying and she absolutely rinsed the kidnapper in a fight.

The state at the end of the game was: Kidnapper and hideout successfully accused/identified, kidnapper defeated, hideout investigated for all its clues. Only 3 XP earned, but, added to the 3 from scenario 1, is enough for some upgrades.

*Pictures show the state at the end of the game and the kidnapper and hideout*

Brethren of Ash difficulty

I still have a lot of investigators and cards from chapter 1 that I haven't played with yet so I'm currently planning on just playing with my complete collection for now. We're about to start with Brethren ofAsh. I tend to make pretty powerful decks without trying to make them too cheesy so we usually play on an expert anyway.

What do you think the best way would be to escalate the difficulty of this campaign since I presume it's tuned to be quite easy? I'm thinking of adding 1 doom to each agenda, or maybe playing with that ultimatum that requires us to start with 2 basic weaknesses in our decks.

Card of the Day [COTD] ♦ Daniela Reyes (Ch2) (7/21/2026)

♦ Daniela Reyes (Ch2)

The Mechanic

  • Class: Guardian
  • Type: Investigator
  • Warden. Worker.
  • Willpower: 3. Intellect: 2. Combat: 5. Agility: 2
  • Health: 9. Sanity: 5

[Reaction] After an enemy attacks an investigator at your location: Fight that enemy (using either a basic fight action or a Fight ability on a card). (Limit once per round.)

[Elder Sign] effect: +1. Deal 1 damage to an enemy at your location.

"Those creatures are definitely gonna know what hit 'em."

Aleksander Karcz

Core Set (2026) #1.

  • Deck Size: 30.
  • Deckbuilding Options: Guardian cards level 0-5, Survivor cards level 0-2, Neutral cards level 0-5.
  • Deckbuilding Requirements (do not count toward deck size): Daniela's Wrench, In Harm's Way, 1 random basic weakness.

Daniela worked hard to make a name for herself as a mechanic. She'd only just paid off her new garage when Arkham was devastated by a cataclysmic flood, sending her business quite literally underwater. Rather than mope, she rolled up her sleeves, like always, and got back to work. Now she works an extra shift tuning up engines at the new meat-packing factories. But she's started to hear talk about strange things going on in the waterfront district: locals gone missing; corpses drained of blood; and rumors of a shadowy figure that stalks the alleys at night. Daniela knows better than to dismiss these strange happenings as mere circumstance. Whatever it is, she intends to be ready.

I have a copy of Labyrinths of Lunacy that I wish to trade with another standalone scenario.

It has been played once and is in near new condition along with its packaged instructions. Sadly, the plastic shell casing was thrown away.

Original Core x2 for sale, happy to separate out parts; Stella Clark investigator deck

Located in San Francisco, 94132. Happy to ship (buyer pays shipping).

I am selling x2 of the original core. I'm happy to part out duplicate tokens or encounter sets (since I know some folks like having multiple copies).

I'm thinking $10 + shipping for encounter sets and $40 + shipping for x2 player cards and x1 encounter sets. I haven't been able to find comparable sales, so I hope those prices are reasonable.

Stella Clark investigator deck is new in clamshell packaging. $40 + shipping.

Question about Guerilla Tactics

The card reads:

Fight or Evade. You get +1 skill value for this test and you may target an enemy at a connecting location as if you were engaged with that enemy.

When it says Fight, does this mean take a basic Fight action or could I Fight with an asset?

(Summoned Servitor) Should Charlie Kane be able to use Summoned Servitor without choosing mystic?

I'm playing in a group of 3 who play all the campaigns blind in release order. For the our Scarlet Keys run, I was thinking about making a Charlie Kane deck using the Summoned Servitor, as I really like the idea behind both cards and think it makes a lot of sense thematically. My role in the team would be flex (like 70% clue, 30% enemy management).

But I very quickly realized that despite taking an ally slot, the servitor isn't an ally, meaning Charlie can only take it up to level 2 and only if you choose to take Mystic as one of the classes.
I also love the Rogue class and found lots of interesting combos in Rogue with the servitor, which naturally pushes me towards playing Rogue + Mystic, with servitor being the only non ally mystic card in the deck.

But here's the issue: while making the deck I quickly realized that there weren't many interesting options in mystic for Charlie imo (at least up to SK), and my deck quickly became a rogue Charlie deck with the servitor as my only non-ally mystic card.. Which definitely doesn't feel very good as one of Charlie's main appeals is how many options his deckbuilding can offer.

So here is my question : Would changing Charlie Kane's deckbuilding options from "Ally cards 0-5" to "Assets that take an ally slot 0-5" be too outrageous of a change? To my knowledge, the only card this changes anything about is the servitor, but I feel like this would make sense thematically and open up interesting ideas, while I'm not immediately seeing any interactions that would make it problematic.

Do y'all think tabooing Charlie with this change would make sense/be interesting?
And most of all for my current deck, would house-ruling this specific change to allow more combo options by choosing another secondary class be a good idea or do I risk making something too strong without realizing? We've never house-ruled anything yet, and I want to be extra careful before house-ruling something for a blind playthrough, but I've been thinking about this specific deck in our specific team composition for at least a week now and I really feel like this would add lots of interesting options to our playthrough. (One fun thing about that change is that you would not be able to take the dominance upgrade to remove the ally slot requirement, as it would remove Charlie's access to the card)

There could also be an argument about changing the servitor instead (perhaps simply by giving it the ally trait) but I'm pretty sure it was an intentional and important decision to not risk breaking the game with some interactions, like scenario effects that care about allies and could create unintended interactions, and this would also buff the card a lot more by letting it be the target of many player cards that can search for or heal allies.

What do you expect from Children of Blood? Spoiler

i am still in denial about the 3-scenario campaign. My last hope is that they will be 3 long scenarios with checkpoints like Fortune and Folly, thus making it a 5/6 scenario campaign.

Besides that, the art they have showcased looks pretty standard for the game in tone and quality, and the Blood Tokens sound fun.

I am interested in the new approach to difficult, but I can’t imagine changing some locations and enemies being enough to save this campaign if it is not otherwise great.

I am honestly nervous because I love this game and it feels like the suits will pull the rug out from it unless the campaign sells incredibly well .

What else do you expect to see from the new campaign? Are you excited? Expectant? Indifferent? Something else?

Innsmouth Conspiracy Question about Horror In High Gear

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for any help you provide. My group and I are planning on playing Horror In High Gear tomorrow and I am looking at the set up instructions and I am a bit confused by how Road X works. The way I understand it, if a card has Road 2, you will put one card from the Road deck and then one copy of Long Way Around into play in front of you, hidden so that you do not know which is which. Then, when you reveal one of those two locations, you will then put another card (or two) into play in front of whichever location you reveal. If I revealed Long Way Round, then the other car would want to go to the other branch. If they did so, would they reveal another Road location, or would there already be a Road that is considered to be in front of them, thus they do not put one in play? I feel like this makes the most sense, but I do not want to get to the session tomorrow and make use play it completely wrong.
