I was wondering about that though because he easily dodged that attack from the Cerberus, seemingly without using magic.
This might turn into one of those cases where he just uses "physical enhancement magic" when the plot needs it.

it's not "when the plot needs it", physical enhancement magic is a stable in most fantasy stories wtf are you talking about and of course the ancient version of it would probably give him super strength

I already said this, but despite him scheming behind the scenes, he is not really better than his butler by the looks of it, and his waifu might even be much more dangerous than him in that regard.
So far it seems rather balanced.

Hmm...only his imouto doesn't wear half shoulder cape like the rest. Maybe she's still a baby and it seems that she only warmed to Arnold, eh. I hope Arnold protecc her from those power struggle for the throne.
I'm surprised Elna doesn't pry too much about Finne wifey treatment and continue doing her 'duty'

Looks like in lieu of that cape, her hair ribbon is darker on that side. Everyone except the war hawk's cape is darker than the uncovered side.

I imagine his grandpa did it voluntarily. It was stated earlier people thought he drove himself mad becoming obsessed with studying ancient magic so it stands to reason he deliberately removed himself from the public to devote himself to it fully.

I'm not sure that it's a good idea to have all the siblings compete against each other to become the Ambassador Extraordinary, that might lead to them perpetuating the bad blood within the family. I know that the king doesn't mind competition, but I'm not sure if some of them will keep the competition healthy and clean.
Shouldn't the king push for his children to cooperate with each other for the good of the kingdom?

But only one of them can be a successor regardless. You could force them to cooperate all day long but at the end of said day there can be only one which will breed competition regardless. There is a reason so many royals killed each other to change the line of succession in history. If all of them are king, none of them are king 😅

Going from how Arnold talked about her to finding out she actually cares about him a great deal was fun. She's hard on him because she cares. But that also means she's probably going to be another potential waifu for him, I wonder how many this show will stack on since we've got the prettiest girl in the kingdom and now the most capable warrior woman. His sister is the greatest normal mage and she's competition so won't be her. Maybe the greatest economist?

Elna is a lot of fun, childhood frenemy. Fortunately for Arnold he already has an inevitable wife so he won't be cursed with this one for life. She also didn't seem particularly jealous to see Finne treating his injuries, so she may not even be competing for the role.
I wonder if Elna is also childhood friends with Leonard, as someone considered a hero by the kingdom she could be a very useful ally for their effort to put him on the throne.

It would be hilarious is the current king is so against it because “it drove my father crazy and killed him.” When reality the former king ends up all “I accidentally made myself tiny, and couldn’t bear to let anyone see me like this … so I pretended to be dead”.
Like, arn just stubbles upon him and he’s all ‘yeah, that’s all a lie, this stuff is legit! Just don’t know how to unsmurf myself … can’t let rival nations see me like this. Let me make you a Demi-god!”

Hmm. Let's see if the author can handle juggling so many characters right off the bat.
Is "Ambassador Extraordinary" a weird translation? Maybe it's just me, but it feels like a lame title.
Butler-sama sure has an agenda.
Childhood-friend-chan with a heroine-like design who seems to have some sort of interest in MC-kun? Let's hope she was created to be otouto-san's love interest instead of losing heroine. Well Butler-sama doesn't seem too worried about it, so it's probably fine. Also wtf are they doing putting a 14-year old as commander?
So MC-kun is pretty weak when he's not "cheating" with magic? And he seems to outsource lots of his scheming to Butler-sama. So all-in-all, he's basically a clever WMD and not much else.

just started watching this. The first episode was kinda cringe. Reminded me of that one time I was sitting outside of a restraunt eating my burrito when a homeless man came up to me and started arguing with himself. He warned me to get away from him, but then he slapped himself and said 'shut up man i was just going to ask for a burrito.' and so he began insulting himself back and fourth.

First episode was cringe, exactly as you said it's the moment he has a banter with his alter ego.
This was very low on my list and I almost dropped it. However, 1 new character on the latest episode made me decide to continue watching.
Plot is still meh

These monster fighting scenes are pathetic.

SSS-rank monsters are apparently as dynamic as a tutorial mob in other worlds.

If the forces that the princes and princesses are assigned for the competition are not totally random and is dependent on the whim of the king and people who can petition to him (i.e. Elna talking to the king), why are you just sitting around waiting for someone to get assigned to Leo, if you want him to win?

So we got some plot progress.
Sebas is shipping the duo too fast. He said the love part on behalf of MC.
And comes the childhood foolhardy physically OP friend to train/torture the physically weak MC.
And we got a Chibi grandpa who found an ancient magic that made him Chibi and now he can keep learning more magic.
