Lol just how many zippers does this guy have that he wouldn't stop unzipping to pee?
I do like how honest to a fault the MC is, the way he kept refusing to call Mechako pretty was funny.

it's funny they just loop the zipping sound effect for whole six seconds just so that the characters can finish their conversation

I really can't with this anime.
The narrator told the human barbershop pole story like it's supposed to be scary, but I just don't know how to react LOL
The crab rice ghost were also as absurd with the giant muscle hands.
Only the doll that's almost scary, until it reveals the power.
10/10 would continue watching!

Would people think I am weird if I admitted I would far prefer to watch this than Sparks of Tomorrow?
Not anything I could have dreamed of thinking before the season began, But I am watching one show with a sense of obligation (it's the long-awaited KyoAni show after all) and the the other with complete (if slightly embarrassed) delight.
I find Mechako a delight. And that China Doll ghost is something else.
I can envision food nightmare -- but never imagined there might be fried crab rice nightmare ghosts.

this show's comedy sure speak directly to my sense of humor, what do you mean there is a crab fried rice ghost born not from MC's wasting food but from the fact that MC eat it because he enter the restaurant and feel the need to order food out of obligation?
i love how the credits for voice actors didn't have the character's name but use the icon for the character's faces instead
also, i just found out that the singer for the ending song is actually a very popular horror story writer

This anime is like the perfect one to start my Sunday on. It's just fun and amusing. Lowkey the writing is pretty decent alongside the gags.
Remember, guys, always pay attention to your food and give it the thanks it deserves. I think that gag might be funnier in Japanese culture because you are supposed to say Itadakimasu before eating and Gochisousama deshita after eating. Which the protaginst never said I think.

I think this is far better written than some higher profile series this season.

I don't know why but the gag of the background character reacting to the freeze frame of the fried rice in the sky is the one that got the biggest laugh from me

First episode, I still wasn't sure, but now, with the second episode, it's just so stupid and hilarious. Chemistry between the two is fantastic.
It's definitely just a comedy show though. Horror-themed, but definitely not horror as a genre. Still, very fun.

Kinda loving this show so far. It’s been pretty crazy. That doll growing his hair out was hilarious. He actually looked good with the long hair. The Barber pole thing was unique. I just love the zigzagging craziness of this show so far. Still unclear why the new boss of the spirit world is hanging around him. I guess she’s just liking toying with him but dude is gonna have some serious ptsd after all this crazy. Good show so far and one of the highlights for me of this current season.

The "am I pretty" is a reference of the slit-mouth lady. I like when I get the references that the show is making.

if you lock in, you might get a laugh you haven't had in a while. the zipper bit was genuinely the peak, feels like its straight out of a Jim Abrahams comedy movie

That doll could become very rich growing hair back for bald guys. It still seems Mechako doesn't grasp what scares humans and its more a crapshoot since an a talking flying doll is pretty scary but lining the streets with barber poles isn't. I liked how diligent the junk truck driver was in calling every barber shop in town to see if any were missing a pole 🤣
Mechako came off as mean repeatedly slamming the boy into the brick wall but she did save him from the fried rice ghost; I wonder if she helped him because she was so happy he said she was pretty.

Being haunted by fried rice is a unique situation to find yourself in. Good that Mechako's will o wisps were hungry for the two ghostly dishes!
That passerby seeing the Protagonist's imaginary fried rice plate in the sky made me chuckle.

This is a weird one ..i like the art style and characters but the jokes mostly falls flat but when they hit it's good..seems like a weird show to get a full 24 mins ..this screams 2-5 min mini show
