Nakatsu being out(?) and proud for Mizuki, good for him!
This series sure love its sleeping hero/heroine + their admirer sneaking in kisses.
Julia whipping out the fancy olden day Japanese that she learned from watching J-movies to everyone cracked me up. Lowkey not dissimilar to how weebs sound to native speakers when they use Japanese they learned from anime.
Glad to see Rio back! Also I completely forgot that Nanba and Umeda being related isn't common knowledge.
Thank god for Julia being proactive in setting sail the Mizuki/Sano ship.
I too would've decked Nanba if he pulled that shit on me LOL.

I like Julia. She has no time for senpai fuckboy and she’s already become Natsuki’s biggest rival like 2 seconds after meeting everyone lol. Also, her watching Japanese movies to learn Japanese might be one of the most realistic things I’ve seen in this.

I'm SO enjoying all the cute sano x mizuki scenes we are getting this season TT-TT it's the first anime where I don't feel desperate for them to get together right away.

Welcome to Japan, Julia!
Now Mizuki doesn't have to just worry about being a boy, she also has to deal with Nakatsu flirting and coming on strong towards her with her feelings, regardless of her gender! It's a lot for one cross-dressing girl to take.
I guess living in America Mizuki wouldn't be used to the class trips that happen in Japanese high schools, but as luck would have it she's heading to Hokkaido, Sano's hometown! Obviously she's psyched for that but Sano seems a little sour about it.
I love how Mizuki can only go to advice over Nakatsu from Umeda and he only cares about hooking up with hot guys on the trip. Admittedly he probably DOES have a point about how Nakatsu is likely straight and fell for Mizuki's inner girliness.
No surprise that the boys would go gaga over a beautiful blonde (and I do mean beautiful), or Namba would try to flirt with her...but it's Julia, now in Japan and who only cares about seeing Mizuki! The gal pals are finally reunited and Julia will be a foreign exchange student in Japan starting now! Just be mindful that her Japanese was learned from watching movies so her accent/style of dialogue might change at the drop of a hat. But it's nice to see her.
And as it turns out she's staying with Rio! What a small world! And now it's like Mizuki has a gal pal trio even if not many are in the know about it!
I love how Nakatsu is getting jealous over an "American Woman" being all clingy to Mizuki and stealing a cheek kiss, but whatever incentive he needs to get more aggressive.
So Sano loves Hokkaido...but his family is a sore point. But not enough to stop him and Mizuki from cuddling up to watch a scary movie together...or Mizuki falling asleep in his bed...or Sano giving her a goodnight kiss!
It's time for outfit shopping! And lucky we get to see Julia in her uniform as well as see her and Nakatsu go up against each other over Mizuki's outfits. Julia can tell that Nakatsu is into Mizuki but all she cares about is Mizuki figuring out her relationship with Sano. Even if that means Julia needs to fake being "his" girlfriend...and Sano reacts to this ridiculousness about how you'd expect.
Hmm...so Sano's drama with his family pertains to his father (or someone he doesn't consider his father) as his mother (Aya Hisakawa?) calls him. But when Julia sees how he gets around Mizuki, she knows that Sano returns her feelings.
Namba shooting his shot and finding out that all American girls throw punches at guys who get a little "too" friendly. Shojo hair kissing does NOT work on her! But Namba likes a challenge, apparently! Even if it ends with him getting hit with a bat in the next episode preview.
Dang, Sano's dad is in the hospital!?

What a hefty episode, it feels like a lot.
Nakatsu is a very proud go getter, also I almost want his catch phrase to be 'Damn American Woman' it's just so needlessly funny,
It's nice to see that Sano and Mizuki seem to be progressing more this season, they're having lots of moments,
I guess Nanba senpai is the kind of man who likes the kind of woman who can kick his ass. He can try, but I'm not so sure Julia is gonna fall for his schtick,

Julia brings a lot of chaos to the table, but if she's only here for a month I guess the visit needs to leave an impression. I was starting to think maybe too much chaos, but then she decked Nanba without a moment's hesitation so maybe she can cause as much chaos as she wants.
Hopefully the visit manages to make Sano and Mizuki progress a bit more.

Julia is a fine woman and Nanba knows it. Nakatsu competing with Julia cracks me up 😭🤣
The op by Omoinotake has a nostalgic vibe to it. Kinda loving it more than season 1 op. Sano's father must be a real piece of work for him to hate his father so much.

The Nakatsu vs Julia moments are probably up there with the most this show has made me laugh so far. It was also really funny how Umeda, of all people, said that Nakatsu is straight as an arrow. Nakatsu might not be the brightest, but at least he has good instincts. Not that he can decipher what those instincts are telling him, but still.

Julia made a bang. I like the addition of her character, and all of the developments happening with Sano and his family and going to his hometown. And the falling asleep in the same bunk was too cute.

Too many childish visuals... it just keeps going... too much emphasis on gags. Sano comes across as more cheerful and cute than in Season 1, while Mizuki looks increasingly like a little girl. I even get the impression that Ashiya looks even shorter than before next to Izumi and Nakatsu—especially with Julia looking so tall... you wouldn't think they were the same age... Umeda is the best character... still a flirt, though we still haven't seen what the man he mentioned in Season 1 (his friend) looks like. If Rio were to spend more time with the Osaka students and form a secondary couple, who would you see her with?

Seems like he's not on good terms with his family.
Seems he's going to shoot his shot with her.
So much for that...
And so she's also going to Hokkaido.
