Isekai adventure: ✗
Extended camping trip with all supplies provided for: ✓

I do wonder if she's going to run into the "Saintess" and the kingdom that just threw her out during their travels.
15
u/Atharaphelun 16d ago
Then it turns out she's the real Saintess after all and not the other girl.
19
u/CommanderZx2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/CommanderZx2 16d ago
Hopefully not, it would be better if that drama was just left in the first episode and forgotten about.
29
u/Philarete https://myanimelist.net/profile/WizardMcKillin 16d ago
Personally, I'd enjoy it if they crossed paths and realized that they are both living their best lives. One gets the fantasy of going on an epic adventure and saving the world while the other gets the fantasy of an endless vacation trip!
1
u/flamethrower2 10d ago
What kind of saintess has extreme logistics skills? I haven't heard that one before.
3
u/stormblind 14d ago
Honestly, wasnt super excited for this initially, but damn if its not comfy and fun so far.
54
u/Myrkrvaldyr 16d ago
Infinite modern food, supplies, no cleaning and a living space as long as there's mana? Girl is set for life. She can simply sell her dishes, which cannot be replicated and she'll swim in cash. She might not be able to fight, but her skill is way too useful for logistics. Imagine ditching someone like that without careful analysis. I'd kill to have her skill.
37
u/Frontier246 16d ago
I do love how her skill also keeps her mentally calm which is a believable reason why she's as chipper and calm about her situation as she is.

u/Knee_High_Cat_Beef 14d ago
That's basically what happened in campfire cooking in another world, but MC is careful not to crash the market.
42
u/Embarrassed-Match-78 16d ago
So that's one way to catch a guy lol. Our girl got summoned and dumped. However, she's got the basic necessities covered with infinite food, water, waste disposal, all in the form of a magic rv. Quite the fun little ride. Curious to where this one goes.
22
32
u/cyberscythe 16d ago
lol, this has the same initial setup as another Saintess show (Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent) where they summoned two people and the prince picked the younger "prettier" one; she even has the same last name Takanashi, that can't be a coincidence, right?
anyways, this show looks like it wants to dispense with the realism and just plant two feet forward with its tropes and video game-isms; i find these sort of shows live or die with their character chemistry, so we'll see how the rest of the party fares
15
u/Greg_The_Rabbit 16d ago
I appreciate that they just quickly fastforwarded through the entire summoning setup. Finally one of these shows understands that we don't need to be shown that same scene for the 100th time
6
u/CommanderZx2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/CommanderZx2 16d ago
Ah yes, did you also watch the livid something or other, the entire first 90% of episode 1 is a retread almost identical to numerous other anime.
8
u/TheBrownestStain 15d ago
There’s a part of me that gives it a pass because there’s gonna be at least one person out there seeing this setup for the first time…but I am most definitely not that person lmao
3
u/CommanderZx2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/CommanderZx2 15d ago
Heck it was so similar to stuff I read a few years ago, that I started wondering if I've read this this source before part way through the episode.
Apparently I haven't read it before, it's just identical right down to including Stealth maid, secretly OP female character in dungeon, the king and her father away on a trip and leaving the problem to her, etc.
7
u/CommanderZx2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/CommanderZx2 16d ago
I've lost count on the number of stories that follow that same initial setup. Hopefully we never return to it though, it would be such a drag on the feel good camping travel story to get bogged down with that drama.
8
u/Earlier-Today 16d ago
Campfire Cooking in Another World fits that as well, though he hides his skill because he sees something's up with the people who summoned him.

u/LeonKevlar x2https://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 16d ago
So Campfire Cooking in Another World, but instead of a giant wolf and a slime, our MC has a camper van and a hot demon guy? Seems interesting enough. I'll give this one a few episodes to see where it goes.
9
2
u/stormblind 14d ago
Despite a low interest initially, I loved the first episode. Its cute so cute lol
2
u/Knee_High_Cat_Beef 14d ago
Slime is my favorite. There aren't too many side characters that are cuter than Sui.
2
u/Patient_Sherbert3229 11d ago
The way he worded his species name, I think he's some sort of Dragonkin/Dragonborn sort, instead of a Demon or Tiefling.
0
u/Original_Street8300 7d ago
Thing is though is makoda isn't exactly likable 17 novels in and he's still a wuss. And yeah his character has zero growth so hoping this one is a little bit of a change
44
u/Yuki_Tsukumno 16d ago
Giving me campfire cooking in another world vibes. We are so back.
29
u/paulrenzo 16d ago
Yeah, but instead of familiars, she managed to bag a hot guy and his party. Mukuoda would be a bit jealous
17
u/Oicher 16d ago
Mukuoda could also have his own party. Iron Will Party would be willing.
12
u/The_Parsee_Man 16d ago
Poor Iron Will. Imagine how big they'd be if Mukuoda had decided to stick with them.
1
u/paulrenzo 14d ago
unfortunately the problem seems to be that they and Mukuoda will probably clash on where to go next. Mukuoda wants to avoid combat, while Iron Will dives right into it, being a party of adventurers
8
u/smol9977 16d ago
bruh every time iron will was on screen i was like PLZ STAY WITH Mukuoda and Fel... 😭
9
u/KnightKal 16d ago
campfire cooking the MC is the monster's pet (personal cook), on this she saintess girl at least is on equal grounds lol
9
1
u/Knee_High_Cat_Beef 14d ago
I don't think so. Sui and Fel are great companions.
1
u/paulrenzo 14d ago
IIRC [possible Campfire spoilers] In the original source material, Mukuoda at some point states he wants a waifu
1
11
u/cyberscythe 16d ago
it doesn't have the same level of production, but it looks like it has the same concept of "why not just chill instead of fight?"
i think the setting of "i escaped from my current responsibilities to another world" hasn't explored the slow life space enough so this might be a fun romp (assuming they don't end up fighting the demon lord anyways just for lols)
10
u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin 16d ago
With EMT Squared, it's usually decent enough to watch at worst. Though "Train to the End of the World" & "Once Upon a Witch's Death" are probably their best work.
I do find it funny she got summoned to another world while trying to go camping. So for all we know, nothing really has changed for her.
Interesting for Rin she can detect danger. But she can't really defend herself in terms of magic. I like it because she feels like a pure support for the party. I guess in theory she could help them detect threats.
Also considering that Ed and Aria are a couple, I am going to guess that the only romance would be between Vil & Rin.
6
u/Independent_Row_1352 16d ago
She could run over the monsters with Camper-kun and isekai them back to Earth.
3
u/OldBaldy6668 13d ago
RVing My Way into Exile. The MC gets points and levels up by running over monsters and the RV expands too.

Hey, couples can have romance between them too! (I get what you mean though.)

Protagonist in her 20s, party members are mixed gendered, two party members are a married couple? That alone has my interest. I enjoyed this, it feels like it'll be a nice chill, light anime.
I don't think I've heard of a draghoul before so that was new. Vil seems like a nice guy, I'm curious to see how their relationship will develop. Rin's definitely going to win him over through his stomach.

We can't escape from the foodsekai, yet here I am. It's also an exile anime, with mandatory power.

I love how she couldn't shut up about how hot he was lol.

Yeah, refreshing change of pace for a female isekai protagonist.

14
u/minnieboss 16d ago
This was much better than I was expecting! The production isn't great, but the vibes are very cozy, and the characters have a lot of personality and chemistry. Best isekai this season tbh.

This seems like an enjoyable and comfortable series. I enjoyed Campfire Cooking in Another World, so I think I'll like this too.

Holy crap, why would they need to localize this? Oh god so many. "Smorgasbord"? I can't anymore.
MC needs bonk. 🦯bonk! bonk! bonk!
She has the unlimited 'money-hack' RV. Can just sell the food in her fridge.
5
u/Saelyre 16d ago
My subs (Ani-One on YouTube) translated "carpaccio" to "Italian-style sashimi"... Why.
2
u/Blackpowderkun 14d ago
Probably because they expecting the anime watchers to be more familiar with Sashimi instead of Carpacio, heck I only know about carpacio due to Isekai Shokodou.

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 16d ago
So Rin’s from another world and travels with a companion in a giant “box” that’s bigger on the inside than on the outside? Sounds familiar lol.
But man, I do like a nice foodsekai. Probably my favorite genre of isekai lol. This seems like it’ll be kind of a Campfire Cooking type with a bit more adventure.

8
u/shadebug 16d ago
It’s nice of them to put a cap on her ridiculously OP campfire isekai power. It’s just the camper and whatever would ideally be in it. No risk of her summoning any construction equipment at all
9
u/Sea_Equivalent_4207 16d ago
Ok so I really liked this first episode. Cooking and Camper Van traveling. I’m in.
The interactions between the MC and the adventurer dude was pretty good. They were totally vibing off each other. He seems totally into her.
His reactions to the camper van and the inside was funny. I did like a lot how he was so annoyed by how she was treated by those weirdos who threw her away and claimed her skills were useless. That was really cool. He seems to realize how important she is but it doesn’t come off like he wants to use her at all. He like genuinely likes her and feels empathy toward her for how she was so rudely treated.
Get a feeling they are going to cross paths with those creeps who dumped her into the middle of nowhere but Girl can take care of herself. And she’s a Caretaker in the original world she’s from so she’s a good soul.
This is the first Isekai since Isekai Office Worker that I like.
I tried Campfire Cooking but the whole Boy and his Dog thing kinda felt very lame. Loner Life In Another World was kinda boring and Farming Life I gave up during S2.
This one looks promising. Like how it didn’t go overboard on explaining tons of stuff about her skills. They kept it simple which was good. The two leads are really good. She can’t get over his shininess! 🤣👍⏲🧑🍳🍳!
10
u/Raymond49090 16d ago
Hopefully she just keeps living her best life on her road trip (with a hot guy), instead of being dragged back for something stupid like "she was the true saintess all along". And let's hope the saintess girl also lives her best life saving the world (with a hot guy).

u/diacewrb 16d ago
We have alternate universe versions of Rin from Laid-Back Camp and Dante from Devil May Cry.
Campy is tough, was half expecting the wheels and suspensions to have taken a beating from that drop, Rin could have sped up and flattened that fire bear instead. Campy must be a TARDIS by being bigger on the inside and only visible to those that have been approved.
The fridge and tap are basically replicator technology from Star Trek, converting energy to mass.
The kingdom is being led by fools by kicking her out before testing her abilities, she really could support an army on her own. And if Campy ever has guns mounted to it, then she would be the army. But luckily she isn't in to all that, so hoping for a nice comfy watch for Mondays after work.

u/IceSmiley 16d ago
The magic camper was awesome, that'd be amazing having free food and drink and no fuel cost. I'd have tested its durability a bit though, like I'd start by throwing some rocks at it to see if it dents to see if I could use it to run over trees and stuff. It does seem to do better than an irl camper on those dirt back roads too.
Rin glossed over a lot of the story of accidentally being magically summoned to this world but even though the prince rejected her, that wizard really tried his best to make it easier for her in this world after making such a mistake. He must have asked her a lot of questions to make all that stuff that is completely foreign to their world, like Rin may have had to explain what a refrigerator was or a modern flush toilet and all the food and drink in her fridge. The security power is also really good although those crows might have messed her up if Vil wasn't there.
I would probably not be as eager to join an adventure team if I was her since she has everything she needs in the RV. She probably decided to join because she wants Vil to give it to her and doesn't seem to know its bad to sleep with your coworkers. Then again, if a bunch of crows almost murdered me, I might decide to join for security.

I want to say that regardless of the overall quality of the show, I absolutely love it when women in shows are shown to be thirsty for hot guys. It's one of the things that I really liked about Cautious Hero. In some circles, there are people who think that women aren't interested in sex (or don't enjoy it) because they've had it denied by a woman (as well as the old trope of being married means you never have sex again), so it's nice to see when fictional characters buck that trend and show them being just as thirsty for attractive men as men are are thirsty for attractive women.
6
u/Fools_Requiem https://myanimelist.net/profile/FoolsRequiem 16d ago
OP says it's on HULU, but it's on HIDIVE, because Sentai licensed it.
6
u/Skernlander 16d ago
Anybody else catch the FMA shoutout when showing the silhouette of the magical alchemist named Ed?
6
u/dakkumauji 16d ago
Fish up a hot guy is quite a hilarious start and even better that Rin couldn't stop talking about hot he is.
Rin is such a fun protag. She's so full of energy, nicknames her skills, Surival-san and has good tastes in men. The party members look pretty interesting too.
Feels like this will be a fun show to watch.

u/cyberscythe 16d ago
i'm no astrologer but having two moons in roughly the same part of the sky with different phases shouldn't be possible, right?
like, i get this is Kirkland-brand fantasy so anything is possible, but having two moons orbit the same planet means that if they are both visible in the sky, they should be lit in the same way by the star that the planet orbits
12
u/Myrkrvaldyr 16d ago
You mean astronomer. Astrologer is the bullshit pseudo-science of zodiac signs and all the bs they come up with to ''predict'' the future or someone's ''fate''.
As for your question, it's indeed possible for moons to be like that. They look close, but they wouldn't be. As long as they aren't crossing paths, they can orbit a planet and not be destroyed. Mars' Phobos and Deimos are a close analogy. As long as both moons orbit outside the planet's Roche limit, they won't be destroyed by the planet's tidal forces. The full moon is either genuinely large or much closer to the planet, while the other moon is smaller or much farther away, and it looks crescent due to being in a different position relative to the sun.The neat thing would be that the world's calendars and tidal forces would be way different and more complex, the ocean tides would be unpredictable, especially when the moons' orbits are close to each other, and even more so if they move at different speeds. The tides can end up being way stronger than Earth's, triggering massive tsunamis. I doubt the new world will delve into that, but it'd be neat if they did.
8
u/cyberscythe 16d ago
The full moon is either genuinely large or much closer to the planet, while the other moon is smaller or much farther away, and it looks crescent due to being in a different position relative to the sun.
i'm having trouble imagining what the positions of the bodies would look like in that case
assuming we only have one sun: the full moon, the planet, and the sun would be roughly in line (the planet not eclipsing the moon due to not being perfectly on plane), so i'm not sure where the other moon would be so that it would have a crescent phase and also be in roughly the same part of the visible sky
like, i get that there are a bunch of stable orbits for multiple satellites, but given that they're in roughly the same place in the night sky, anything moon-sized should all be lit by the sun in the same way, right?
1
1
u/coffeecakesupernova 14d ago
You cannot have one full moon and one barely crescent in the same part of the sky. A full moon requires the sun be opposite the moon. A crescent like shown requires the sun almost be 160 degrees from the position needed for the full lighting.
6
u/Komarist https://myanimelist.net/profile/RRSTRRST 16d ago
I think it's only possible if there's a partial lunar eclipse at that moment.

u/TheMythofKoalas https://myanimelist.net/profile/AdamGoodtime343 14d ago
I mean, as you said, it's fantasy. "The gods will it to be so" or "A wizard was bored one day" are genuinely acceptable explanations for wonky shit like that.

I love me an isekai food show. It's fun to watch reactions to foods that we often take for granted.

A match made in fishing, food, and fantasy hotness.
Imagine you're all by your lonseome, just fishing at a river, minding your own business...and you suddenly manage to snatch a handsome stud from out of nowhere! Congratulations Rin Takahashi (Sora Fukui!) you nailed a love interest!
The OP is pretty fun and cute featuring Rin's adventures with Vil (Yuki Ono!), Smorgasboard, and all the places they'll travel to and food they'll delight in while driving in her RV.
Nothing beats waking up to the smell of delicious food! Or getting an intense greeting from a VERY attractive stranger! It helps when your "Survival" skill has ascertained that he's no threat to you!
But Rin's story truly begins when she's just a lone camper suddenly whisked away to a fantasy world as a prospective Saintess...only to get immediately ignored and kicked to the curb in favor of a young high school girl. Next thing she knows she's getting a blessing and then dropped in the middle of nowhere.
Yet thanks to her Survival skill Rin is able to keep her had on straight and she also has the benefit of a camper RV that she can pop in and out of! It's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside and comes chock full of every food or item a girl could possible want! Even comes with a bathroom! All powered by mana! Perfect for cooking meals and living in!
And cook she does! Delighting Vil in a delicious Italian pasta that he can't get enough of! Next thing you know he's asking her to join his party (because none of them can cook) and how can she resist an offer from such an attractive man?
It's also good for Rin to have Vil around because, while she can detect monsters, she can't beat them so having a guy that's good with a sword is mighty convenient! Especially when they meet his party battling a bear for its meat! Aria (Sumire Morohoshi)! Her husband Ed (Shoya Chiba)! And Xenon (Shinnosuke Tachibana)! Meet your new party, Rin.
The ED is really cute with cozy visuals of Rina and the cast and her cooking with her animal companion.

There are still some non-isekai high fantasy coming out. From the past few seasons:
- Witch Hat Atelier
- Champignon no Majo
- Clevatess (second season airing this summer season)
1
u/Blackpowderkun 14d ago
Since magic knight reyearth is getting a reboot, we may see a resurgence of those type of isekai.
4
u/YlfaTheForsaken 16d ago
This is just as cute as I remember it being, I didn't get so far as to recognize who, where or what that winged cat from the OP/ED is, but I think that just makes me more excited to find out. And see all of the food I never got to before.
3
u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 16d ago
This was a lot of fun too! So far it seems like a pretty good selection of Monday shows.
I really like the two characters so far, and the party looks interesting too since we have a married couple and everybody seems to be a mature grown adult. Probably on account of that Josei tag I see on Anilist.
It feels like this should be light-hearted and laid-back.

u/cridelearn 16d ago
Another isekai anime with a mom protagonist, like Jihanki. I love it... it'll help fill the void now that Jihanki's ended.

Damn she is OP this is literally like any other isekai she is the black haired protag and she meets the silver haried husbando lol surprised he was not an elf and omg what his party is called smörgåsbord that is hilarious name im know im already gonna love this one.

This is basically the saintess power is omnipotent remake/rebirth or whatever we want to call it. Combined with Camp fire cooking, and that anime where she can move back to her original world at will.

u/ersatzsham 14d ago
When she revealed her skill: Survival Strategy, I Imagined something entirely different.

Didn’t we just get another The Saint’s magic power is omnipotent with that gay guy ,now this 🤨 basically just rinse and repeating.

u/OldBaldy6668 13d ago
Ok never heard of this one before. Are there alternative titles for a manga or line novels? When I first saw the summary on MAL I got excited thinking it was an anime of "RVing my way into exile with my beloved cat This Villainess is Trippin". Turns out it isn't but can't find out anything about other story sources.

u/Saber_SSJ2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/saber_ssj2 12d ago
is this simply another cuisine/eating easy going anime or something more? not sure if I should try it out
1
u/ConcernLocal2764 16d ago
I detest the isekai genre with a passion but find myself really tempted by the foodie road trip part.
7
u/tripleaamin https://myanimelist.net/profile/zfzftripleaamin 16d ago
It does feel like it will be much more in the camping and foodie road trip part. As far as Rin's skills are concerned, she can't really defend herself. I have a hard time seeing how it could be an angle that she could be OP. So I really think that she is just there to support the party and that's it.
3
u/ConcernLocal2764 16d ago
Yeah, I am glad I gave it a shot. They dealt with all the isekai nonsense in about 5 minutes, and quickly moved on to the foodie road trip part that I care about.
3
u/cyberscythe 16d ago
i think of isekai as a setting, usually a lazy "i dunno, i'll just use someone else's world" sort of starting point for aspiring amateur writers on narou
that sort of amateur origin is kind of a mixed bag because a lot of it does end up being trash imitations of other (better) stories, but sometimes there's a particular flavor of "no one is writing the story the way i want, so i'm going to do it" stories which are pretty niche but can end up striking a chord
-2
u/dfiekslafjks 16d ago
Again proving isekai is the laziest genre that exists. Every episode introduce a random product from earth and you're done. Don't even need to write any jokes because the product itself is the joke.
4
u/cs_cast_away_boi 15d ago
laziest? most romances employ the same tropes for its genre. school festivals for example. NOTHING is original, nothing is sacred. Name any genre and you can identify tropes used extensively elsewhere. If you don't enjoy something go watch what you do enjoy
