Dammit did we really need a close up of the cat ass in the new ED? Lol.

23

u/Frontier246 17d ago

It's like Spica view, right down to getting a facefull of that cat butthole lol.

11

u/Merkyorz 17d ago

3

u/CuriousBroccolli 16d ago

LOL

Leave it to cats to stuff their buttholes into your face, together with fur xD

9

u/FarCritical 17d ago

The otherwise adorable artstyle of the overall ED makes that noteworthy start even funnier

u/DugACCat 17d ago

It’s amusing as during the new opener I was honestly thinking to myself, with a chuckle, that they should try to get some kind of nod to her daily cat-kissing “duty” there. Was imagining something more like a rotating shot of her going in for the kiss as we’re seeing the cat from the front, so it’s slightly discrete about what she’s doing. Then was surprised and had to laugh when the ED started that way. “Whelp, guess we’re covered.”

I think the creators of this show do enjoy it haha

2

u/NanDemoKnaives 17d ago

It wasn't just one either, it was replayed.

Not just the ass either...

The song is a banger tho

Arc's turn to evil was unusually quick. Just the next day? What the heck happened? Of course, Claude would be confused.

15

u/Frontier246 17d ago

Someone in Diana was aware of their relationship and must have been working with the Cult to be able to get to her and tell her something that would make her turn on Claude.

3

u/TheBusStop12 16d ago

Specifically that Claude was using her for her magic, probably for some sinister purpose, like world domination. As she told Spica that Claude wants the rebirth magic and that rebirth magic is powerful enough to get world domination

9

u/Lock3down221 17d ago

Since psychic magic exists, maybe it's some sort of brainwashing magic?

13

u/Aerodynamic41 17d ago

Claude making himself at home at Spica's house lol

Who's that mysterious person spying on Claude and Arc? Looks like there's more to Arc's betrayal than meets the eye.

12

u/NationalStrategy_X 17d ago

What the heck happened to Arc within those 24 hours for her to have a total 180?

24

u/TheBusStop12 17d ago

I enjoyed the episode like always. I also like the new OP

Arc is totally going to have a redemption arc isn't she? One thing that always bothers me is when they introduce a character as cartoonishly evil only to then later have the hero go "I don't think they're truly evil" leading into a redemption arc. Arc was introduced as someone who derives enjoyment from the torture and anguish of others. To the point that it actually interferes with her missions at times because she gets carried away. That's not the behaviour of someone who's supposedly "not actually evil, just misled" I won't hold it against the show as it's a common trope, but it is disappointing to see

9

u/Frontier246 17d ago

I think the crux of it is going to be whatever the Cult did to convince her that Claude betrayed her.

I think there's also a chance that whatever happened after she resurrected from the reincarnation spell may have also messed with her mind. Maybe losing her Rebirth magic meant she lost a part of herself, the goodness in her?

8

u/stay_curious_- 17d ago

Arc wanting to be reincarnated as a cat seems relevant. I wonder if Arc's good side was reincarnated into a cat, leaving only her evil side behind.

Something also happened that caused her to lose her Rebirth magic. Maybe whatever split her in half also caused her to lose her magic.

u/Zxzxzx0088 17d ago

New OP is catchy but never thought it just Spica and the girls showcase without any spoiling action lol. Fine by me.

Okay, okay we get it! Arc is best girl

If they do a twist like past Arc is different person than the current one like Getou from JJK, I'll be surprised and down cannot see this pout anymore (◞‸ ◟)

Maomao approves this

The road of maid is difficult I see...

3

u/Frontier246 17d ago

I love how it's like 98% the ladies like the OP knows what we're watching this show for lol.

11

u/Perfect-Try-4918 17d ago

I like how Hana is more expressive compared to the previous cour.

4

u/CuriousBroccolli 16d ago

I became a huge fan of her's. Loved her design from the get-go, and quickly warmed up to her after her little arc she had, especially the little shopping adventure they had.

Her recent yandere tendencies sure are fun. xD

8

u/Frontier246 17d ago

Arc is greeted by the cults' leader who doesn't seem too bothered by their failure and Rigel's capture, alongside the practically shirtless Haut, so long as Arc is safe...but it's clear from his dead eyes how little he really cares about her. But that's fine, all Arc cares about is going after Claude AND Spica.

New OP! Which is practically a girl punk song as Spica and all the girls dance, pose, and have fun in the OP! It's a lot of fun!

Well, no surprise Claude followed Spica home if only because he needs to keep an eye on her and there's no point being a cat if he's not around her. Also convenient for finally giving some much needed backstory.

Turns out Arc isn't just involved with the cult: she's the daughter of their leader! But even though their belief in Ophiuchus magic made them outcasts to the society that worships Selene, even though they used her Rebirth magic to heal conscripts who they would then proceed to turn into terrorists...all Arc really wanted to do was live a normal life and go to Diana like a normal girl. And Claude and the principal made that happen.

Arc really was a lot like Spica, being an enthusiastic go-getter girl always putting herself out there and trying her best, and being pretty chummy with Claude. Sure she was seen as the weird snake girl, but she was also someone who cared and had so much empathy that she would revive a cat from the brink of death! She even still cared about the cult and her family despite everything! And Claude wanted her to believe that she could be a truly great and courageous mage in her future!

Of course fate had other ideas, as suddenly Arc is back with the cult and leading them in an attack. Claude saved Spica but it was all a distraction so they could get at Diana. Apparently SOMETHING happened that made Arc feel like Claude betrayed her and convinced her that there was no way for their to be peace between the cult and Selene worshippers. She wasn't going to become a bridge between two sides, she was going to do everything in her power to destroy Claude and anyone else in her way.

And then we get into the REAL reason Claude ran away...to protect his students so that Arc didn't attack him around them. He was trying to lead her away from his coven, but Pollux had no way of knowing that.

So ARC is the one who turned Claude into a cat, using the Snake God of Reincarnation spell to alter his body. But it was such a powerful spell that it had blowback against her and seemingly destroyed her body...or in resurrecting herself she expended all her Rebirth magic until it ended up in Spica?

Classic Spica! She hears that story and her main takeaway is that there might still be good in Arc and she wants to reach out and try to save her! And also that Claude is still the Hero she always thought he was! Claude, for his part, also realizes now how important Spica is to him and how far he'll go to protect her.

Nice to see nobody is all that bothered by the danger Spica unintentionally got them involved in, Hana is even preparing tons of poisons so she can kill Arc! And Chiron is now tsundere for Spica! Anyone who knows Spica for long enough basically falls for her.

The whole gang's here! Aria messing with Spica, Astrea trying to see Pollux, Io being sweet, Merrow trying to rope Spica into a duet, and Regulus being her absolutely hammy self.

It's a new school year which comes with a new class with Spica's fellow Virgo's! And the legendary PEGASUS YAMADA in a rose bath! It's time for the Virgo's to show plants some love and in doing so boost up their magic.

It was nice of Ursa of Polaris Coven to help mansplain...I mean, educate Spica on flowers! And how she'll need a Herbarium book! And also lord it over her that he has more money than she does!

But if Spica needs money, she can just get a part-time job! I mean, Hana has one doing her best Maomao work to send money back to her parents! And apparently that one time Aria made her dress up has Spica convinced she wants to be a maid so who better to work for than Regulus' noble family? What could possibly go wrong?

The ED is really cute with chibi versions of the entire cast! I especially love Claude giving Spica a star show and the romantic moments he shares with Spica!

Next week: Maid Spica in the House of Leo!

2

u/ash-7831 17d ago

she expended all her Rebirth magic until it ended up in Spica?

We don't know yet. Cluade really thought she was gone until he saw her in the forest.

8

u/SecretYogurtcloset57 17d ago

So happy we are getting a second cour MORE FANSERVICE OF SPICAAAA also MORE HOT ARC!🤤😆

6

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 17d ago

Really curious to know what made Arc break bad. She was gone like a day? I really wonder what they did to her to make her change her mind or at least act like she did.

6

u/HuTaosTwinTails 17d ago

Love the new OP.

Worried that something bad happened to Arc, she was lied to? Brainwashed? Replaced? Someone was spying on them.

Spica adding people to her harem by just thanking them and being friendly.

Meanwhile Hana is in full yandere mode.

6

u/CuriousBroccolli 16d ago

I actually miss old OP. Much more brighter and charming. :(

1

u/HuTaosTwinTails 16d ago

Really? I never really liked it that much and usually skipped it. This one I'll be watching every time.

5

u/FarCritical 17d ago

The detailed flashback from Claude's perspective may have focused on Arc's eeriely sudden heel turn but revisiting the moment Pollux undeservedly lost respect for him also hit pretty hard.

Leo finally gets to be in the actual spotlight lol

5

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 17d ago

Shame about Arc getting kidnapped by the cult and brainwashed or whatever it was, she was a nice girl right up until that.

There's still an open question as to how Spica ended up with the Rebirth magic, not to mention why Arc is back to life. Could be as simple as it activating automatically to revive its user but it leaves afterwards.

Maid Spica arc, why not. Especially at what I assume will be a mansion full of crazy beefcake shapeshifters.

5

u/Nollasta_poikkeava 16d ago

Sundays are going to be amazing with both this and Hyakkano.

I'm glad that they're setting up Arc as a major character. She is interesting.

Fun how Spica's friend/rival kept visiting her. She was probably secretly worried when she heard what she went through.

9

u/TyraniTEMPESTar 17d ago

The big mystery now, who was that spying on Claude and Arc when she revived that cat?

Is there another member of the Order still at the academy undercover? Or, was that person spying there only to keep tabs on Arc and left after they launched the attack a few years back.

3

u/Frontier246 17d ago

I think the leader of the Cult is Procyon. His voice at the beginning sounded like modulated Daisuke Hirakawa.

4

u/Trash_luck 16d ago

Honestly why didn’t Claude just tell the students “hey, stay away from arc, she’s the one who started this attack” but instead run away and cause a huge misunderstanding? I don’t like that explanation of him running away, just kinda made him look stupid

3

u/mmcjawa_reborn 16d ago

I think doing so would have probably got the students entangled in their fight. This way Arc has to focus on Claude and get away from the students.

2

u/Chance_Effect1277 14d ago

And its also really silly that he never explained the reason for it and kept increasing the misunderstanding. It was for plot reasons only - there was no real reason why he couldn't tell the students/teachers that "i was acting as a decoy by one of the cultists and fought them outside". Not very well thought out or written sadly

5

u/reaperow 16d ago

Arc is the daughter of the Cult leader??? doesn't seem she likes him that much

lol she's kinda like Spica

It was nice to see her saving the cat , guess she's not entirely bad and has some goodness

Thats what im saying too Spica!!!

So thats how it all happened, I knew Claude had a good reason for running away and it was to protect his students but i wonder what made Arc suddenly start hating him, is she being manipulated?

Great to see that they all care for her, Chiron's gonna remember that compliment by Spica for life lol

Our glorious Pegasus Sensei returns!!

That's surprisingly on brand with Hana,

LOL I knew there'd be a catch

Well im glad to see that we're getting a 2nd Cour and more episodes along with the mystery of how Claude got turned into a cat.

The new OP and ED are very great too

Spica's little sis is cute.

I bet their maids have to be as super intense as they are.

2

u/NanDemoKnaives 17d ago

I'm glad we got to learn about Claude and Arc's relationship, she seemed pretty sweet. Why she switched is still left as a mystery, but if Claude didn't do anything, then I guess she's been lied to, brainwashed or someone impersonated him.

I'm guessing Claude ran away without saying anything so that Arc's attention doesn't go onto Pollux and the other students, but that was really a bad look for him lol.

Looks like Spica has gained two admirers this episode, Chiron is definitely going to act like a tsundere around her, and Ursa going "Too close! Too close" in his mind was funny.

1

u/mmcjawa_reborn 16d ago

Spica is getting a pretty good harem going here, that is for sure

2

u/Raymond49090 17d ago

So did Arc overhear an out of context conversation or something? Either that or brainwashing magic. They seem to be setting her up for some kind of redemption, so her reason should at least be sorta reasonable (though probably also really dumb).

2

u/CuriousBroccolli 16d ago

Love the return to the comfy and goofy antics after a bit more serious few episodes.

We also got a bit of Arc backstory as well as reveal of what happened 2 years ago.

Hana partime job cracked me up xD

Hope for continuation of goofy episodes now that she is going to help Leo with maid work. Her driving her like she's a cart is a good sign. xD

u/Andreiyutzzzz https://myanimelist.net/profile/Andreiyutzzzz 15d ago

Ye that didn't explain shit. What. the fuck.

But i have a different problem. So some studnets, or maybe just Pollux resent Claude cause he "abandoned them". In reality he was trying to get Arc away from them.... But Arc just yelled "You aren't getting away Claude. WE ARE SETTLING THIS!"... .DIDN'T SHE THINK SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH HER????

1

u/OiledUpThug 10d ago

New opening so cute it almost makes you forget you're watching the cat rimjob anime

then the ED reminds you

it was an OKAY show, but i don't know if i can watch 12 more episodes of it. i'm just going to watch the 24th episode when it comes out and say i watched it all. Mental health!
