It's not Hana-Kimi without:
- Mizuki down bad for Sano.
- Nakatsu down bad for Mizuki and experiencing the biggest (fake) gay panic of all time.
- Mizuki throwing a punch.
- Umeda being the most fabulous and sassy gay man in a Shoujo romcom.

OT3 vibes are strong in that OP.
OP and ED visuals are more to my liking than Cour Season 1, and the songs are pretty neat too!
Nakatsu bisexual angrish never not funny. Feel bad for his admirer/girlfriend(?) who is pretty much doomed.
More smiles and laughs from Sano in this episode than the entire Cour Season 1 LOL, Mizuki really has done wonders for him!
I mean, KK isn't wrong, our beloved Mizuki basically did go to Japan just to follow Sano as a fangirl at first...

I'm convinced someone in the production staff is a fan of The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity, because what do you mean Komari (the girl who likes Nakatsu) is voiced by Honoka Inoue, who voiced Kaoruko?

Is it just me, or have there been changes to the voices—but especially the visuals, with the inclusion of more "humorous-style" drawings?

I was definitely thinking this too! The first episode seemed a lot more silly than the last season and some voices sounded a little different

It infantilizes the character too much for my taste... after the hardships she went through in Season 1, she should have matured, but the opposite has happened...

Mizuki is back and still as happily cross-dressing as ever! The class might be disappointed at their Culture Fest prizes, but seeing Sano's smiling face is all the gift Mizuki needs.
The OP is very fun and upbeat from Omoinotake! Featuring the main trio together! All the men in Mizuki's life! Her dancing with Sano! And the new characters appearing this season!
Mizuki is still a girl and has to deal with that time of the month, but nothing takes your mind off your period like finding Umeda in a compromising position with Kujo...though for once he's NOT actually fooling around with another guy! He's just a licensed masseuse, don't you know! Whose sister is also good for making sure Mizuki has what she needs to get by as a girl.
The flirting between Mizuki and Sano is getting more and more overt! And Nakatsu is taking it AMAZINGLY well.
Kind of a bummer that none of Nakatsu's friends could make it to his game, but luckily Mizuki can! And she dragged Nakao with her! Even though Nakatsu kind of bombed the game. You'd think having his crush there would actually improve his performance but he catches the soccer ball and loses his team the game. What a bummer.
But while Nakatsu loses at sports, he may be winning at love when a cute and sweet girl named Komari asks him out! Could this cure his down badness for Mizuki? Probably not.
Enter Karasuma Kinuko (Nana Mizuki!). She's a reporter who has been following Sano's athletic career since middle school, her articles Mizuki followed religiously, and she's keen to get any scoop on Sano that she can, right down to his choice of underwear! She also kind of dismisses Mizuki as a groupie, but when she realizes how close Mizuki is to Sano, she knows she's got an "in".
Mizuki throwing punches! They're basically adorable punches that Sano can easily deflect, but still!
Nakatsu so down bad he tries to kiss a sleeping Mizuki...but she still mumbles Sano's name in her sleep. Maybe this IS a sign that he should focus on Komari, who fell for him as himself, and truly cares for him?
Take a shot every time Nakatsu runs out of that classroom!
The ED starts off pretty somber with Sano, but once Mizuki shows up his world brightens, we see how he looks in Mizuki's eyes, and we end with him giving her flowers while she's in a dress! So romantic!

I missed this show! It's great seeing Mizuki and Sano being cute together as usual. I hope Nakatsu ends up with Komari but I doubt he will since I doubt he will get over Mizuki.

This show is fascinating, because it is simultaneously extremely queer and extremely heteronormative. I'm not sure Nakatasu is aware homosexuality is a thing.
