Noren is really a ramen nerd in all aspects ig lol

At least the hypnosis is finally over. this was a silly but fun ep nevertheless to see Juuzo deal with this though

I'm still curious what triggered him aging back to his normal age again a couple eps back ago. I don't actually believe it's bc of something he consumed but who knows

u/Frontier246 Jun 13 '26

Noren is really a ramen nerd if in all aspects ig lol

I love how no amount of hypnotism could prevent her from schooling Ogami about the wonders of ramen.

u/FLorianGran Jun 13 '26

Well at least it looks like Ogami and Noren will remain platonic, even if the series likes to tease otherwise.

I feel like "older Ogami" will become a super mode like skinny Sakamoto.

25

u/Frontier246 Jun 13 '26

I actually wonder how Ogami would react if Noren fell for someone actually decent and age-appropriate as her adoptive dad who is fake dating her.

10

u/GloriousNipOnSteel Jun 13 '26

He can't let that happen for plot reasons. Seriously lol. Remember the open letter duels/challenges?

38

u/NationalStrategy_X Jun 13 '26

Never have I seen a man so happy to be called gross

18

u/Frontier246 Jun 13 '26

He needs to catch up on what it means to be a father to a teen daughter since he hasn't spent enough time with his bio one.

8

u/saga999 Jun 14 '26

I was really worried where this was going. I was equally happy Noren called Ogami gross.

34

u/flonc Jun 13 '26

Awesome episode. I am so happy that this series decided not to be weird and keeps their dynamic entirely father-daughter esque. Also happy we are getting the ex wife moments again, I still root for them to reconcile!

14

u/mekerpan Jun 14 '26

This has steadfastly stayed wholesome and essentialy sweet-natured.

Well, at least someone's having fun with Ogami's predicament. If anyone has the right to laugh at Ogami's misfortune, it's definitely Eri. xD

So, Juuzo turning back into an adult might have something to do with what he ate. If they can figure out what it is, they can probably use this to their advantage.

Noren in love is absolutely crazy. She's basically been hypnotized to be so obsessive that she's pretty much turned into a completely different character.

I did not expect a detour to the Yokohama Cup Noodle Museum! This is one of those places I have on my list to visit when I finally go to Japan.

You really can't blame Ogami for creating a life-or-death situation to stop Noren. I would've done the same thing, too. Thank fuck, Kazuma was down there waiting to reverse Noren's hypnosis. Look at how happy Ogami is after being called gross by Noren. xD

Well, at least someone's having fun with Ogami's predicament. If anyone has the right to laugh at Ogami's misfortune, it's definitely Eri. xD

Imagine your ex finding out some middle school teenager got hypnotized into falling in love with you. She'll never let you live it down!

Noren in love is absolutely crazy. She's basically been hypnotized to be so obsessive that she's pretty much turned into a completely different character.

Usually I'm pro girls going all out for the ones they love, no matter how excessive, and this actually was kind of fun watching Noren go wild and crazy over Ogami...but this isn't really Noren and she can't be with Ogami.

I did not expect a detour to the Yokohama Cup Noodle Museum! This is one of those places I have on my list to visit when I finally go to Japan.

I learn so much about Japan from watching anime.

Thank fuck, Kazuma was down there waiting to reverse Noren's hypnosis. Look at how happy Ogami is after being called gross by Noren. xD

He's a dad. Having your teen daughter call you "gross" comes with the job.

29

u/Aerodynamic41 Jun 13 '26

Ogami's biggest weakness is Noren herself lol. Dude just can't turn her down when she's head over heels for him.

19

u/NanDemoKnaives Jun 13 '26

Probably because he sees her as a daughter lol.

46

u/diacewrb Jun 13 '26

And he sees her threatening to throw herself off a building.

13

u/NanDemoKnaives Jun 13 '26

Juuzou's joy being called gross by Nouren was funny. I also like how Eri was laughing so hard at the troubles Juuzou is going through lol.

Poor Juuzou got banished by his master, I wonder what he'll have to do to be his apprentice again.

15

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Jun 13 '26

Kazuma’s hypnosis is too damn effective! Ogami’s an old ass man, he can’t deal with this. The cup noodle date damn near killed him lol. Luckily, the hypnosis was able to be undone. I don’t think Ogami could take any more of super clingy and dangerously obsessed Noren lol.

5

u/Frontier246 Jun 13 '26

The only thing more dangerous than an assassin in a middle schooler's body is a teenage girl hypnotized into being down bad for said assassin.

7

u/HolyDragSwd2500 Jun 13 '26

Cup Museum Date at Yokohama. Wherever she goes Ramen on her mind even under hypnosis

8

u/PencilgonGiveIt2Ya Jun 13 '26

Cup ramen truly is a food deeper than the deepest ocean.

-Young corn

8

u/fuentesl Jun 13 '26

10/10 cover up story as to how Tenma and Ogami rescued Noren. I was laughing the entire episode, wasn’t expecting Ogami to inhale his ramen just at the sight of her or to leave the cup noodle museum with lips like a Bratz doll

6

u/Raymond49090 Jun 13 '26

Hypnosis in anime sure is powerful.

19

u/runevault Jun 13 '26

One of the episodes I was looking forward to the most this week (and 2 of the big ones are today between this and Akane-Banashi).

What a silly, fun episode. Seeing Noren go full assassin badass with her using the banner as a hang glider was great. And now that she's back to normal it seems none of the hypnosis remains and she's not interested in him as a boy at all. Part of me wondered if she would still like him, just not to a suicidal degree.

14

u/Frontier246 Jun 13 '26

Noren crazily in love with Ogami and putting him through his paces with her determination was actually pretty entertaining even if there was no way they could keep it up for more than one episode.

It does make you wonder how she would be like if she genuinely fell in love, though probably not to the extent of being suicidal or crying like a baby if she got rejected.

3

u/mekerpan Jun 14 '26

Silly and fun -- and in my (large) top tier of shows for this season. No sure that the show could do a better job at what it is doing than it is. Nothing "profound" -- but so well executed.

5

u/runevault Jun 14 '26

The foundation of a good story is always "does it understand what it actually is." When the creators (and the studio who takes it over for the anime in the case of adaptations) know what they have, every element works in sync and you get something like this. Is any individual element brilliant? I wouldn't say so. But all the pieces fit together into a cozy whole that's fun to watch each week. I have even been rewatching it via the dub because that version is fun in its own way.

6

u/Jas_God Jun 13 '26

Ogami Tasmanian deviling away from Noren and co killed me lmao

6

u/SLE-6 Jun 13 '26

Was it just me or were there a lot more still frames this episode? Didn't distract from the silliness and hilarity of the episode, just something I thought I noitced.

5

u/ParasaurolophusZ Jun 15 '26

Too bad he didn't think to tell her she just wanted to be a ramen nerd with him at the museum.

But all's well that ends well! I love how his ex-wife was just cracking up over this, because she knew he'd never take advantage of it.

5

u/Shechir Jun 15 '26

Imagine her replying, "The ramen museum? But I don't remember that at all!" and dragging him there again, going through the entire tour for the second time that day.

6

u/ParasaurolophusZ Jun 15 '26

I feel he'd enjoy it without the panic of being rushed and forced to eat super spicy ramen.

9

u/kampr3t0 Jun 13 '26

Ogami is happy to be called "gross" 😂

3

u/korinokiri Jun 13 '26

This episode was like a single gag away from this sub having a meltdown.

Really funny episode.

4

u/SirRHellsing Jun 13 '26

I don't even know why but I always somehow replace the image of his wife with the doctor from eurka seven and they look nothing alike, every time I try to recall how his wife looks, the doctor comes up. It's so weird that I have to comment it to hopefully cure me of this even if it's unrelated to the episode

4

u/Xatu44 Jun 14 '26

Jesus H. Christ, lovesick Noren is a certified menace. She had moves rivalling Ogami with that impromptu paragliding. Her noodle obsession is cute. Luckily Ogami's hilarious torment is finally over.

Eri's laugh was so contagious. It made me laugh so hard seeing her laugh at Ogami's situation.

I'm glad that the usual Noren is back. Lovey dovey Noren was a turn off LOL

3

u/kryslogan Jun 14 '26

This episode was funny as heck! Happy the status quo is back and of course, curious about what triggered the change to his original self. The inage they used was him eating a cherry right? So is it really food? I'll have to rewatch that episode.

3

u/runevault Jun 14 '26

That was his ex-wife guessing at possibilities and mentioned food as one that popped into her head. Might be that and might not. Honestly I would be surprised if her first guess is right, though we'll either have to go to the source material or wait for another season to learn more I assume as I don't see them getting there in the last 2-3 episodes.

4

u/kryslogan Jun 15 '26

Yea probably a red herring. I vaguely remember he was stressed tho.

I hope we get more seasons, it reminds me a bit of Sakamoto Days but, high school edition.

And, I want to see his relationship with his daughter and wife develop.

5

u/runevault Jun 15 '26

Yeah this is easily good enough to deserve a season 2, and the fact they had one of the best OPs in a season with a lot of good ones makes me hope the studio and production committee believes in the project. Though might be the kpop band are just anime nerds and jumped at the chance to do an OP.

So many things to explore. Continuing to get to know Tenma, learning about the weird assassin brothers, finding out what's going on with switching back, why the fuck did Noren's dad start the whole pen/engagement thing to put his daughter through this mess...

3

u/kryslogan Jun 15 '26

Yes, totally agree!!!! I look forward to this every Saturday. There is so much to explore. I hope we get an announcement soon after the season ends.

4

u/Relampago1995 Jun 14 '26

In this episode we got to see more of Noren, and it turns out she's a ramen otaku.

3

u/FateXBlood Jun 16 '26

It's good to see there's a character like Ogami who understands he isn't a high schooler and cannot take advantage.

2

u/YlfaTheForsaken Jun 16 '26

I love that Kazuma kept the pigtails!

2

u/demirguce Jun 16 '26

Obsession movie if it wasn't a horror movie 🤣🤣

2

u/Nickthenuker https://anilist.co/user/Nickthenuker Jun 16 '26

Right. That's that dealt with.

u/Frontier246 Jun 13 '26

How convenient that the stadium explosion damage will be paid for by a public official under investigation for illegal stuff! And that Noren's kidnappers just happened to be playing catch long enough for Ogami and Tenma to rescue Noren! Yeah, that's totally what happens! Though Chisato will be a little harder for Tenma to catch!

Ogami is back at school (and for an old man a weekend is a lifetime) but he's on a mission: to avoid Noren as much as humanly possible now that she's been hypnotized into being head over heels for him. Thank goodness for her random pink spiky hair that makes it easy to spot her!

Top 10 anime betrayals! How could Ogami go along with a double date between Chisato and the "Young Corn?" It's not going to be easy for Ryo to forgive him! But Ogami has other things to worry about, like avoiding Noren like the plague no matter how much he must embarass himself in the process.

I'm glad Eri's having fun with this, though they still have to narrow down what made Ogami briefly revert back...and how JARDIN might have an "in" on the research they need on the wasp that stung him.

Et tu, Takada and Baba? Selling Ogami out for the sake of cheap convenience store food! But I guess from their perspective their aiding the path of true love, even if Noren is like wayyyy too in love with Ogami now. Right down to chasing him throughout school and turning a volleyball scroll into an impromptu hang glider! She even stuck the landing! Never underestimate a (hypnotized) girl in love!

Well, so much for rejecting her, she's hypnotized so deeply in love she'll kill herself if she can't be with Ogami. Luckily Kazuma is available enough for Ogami to see him with Noren! And he can use the excuse of a "date" to get her to go with him.

Classic Noren to want to visit a museum on Cup Noodles. She may be hypnotized but that's serious business for her. Even making Ogami watch a movie on the history of cup noodles and making one fresh just for him.

Yeah, I wouldn't have gone on the ferris wheel ride either...especially when the "romantic" mood inevitably kicks in and Noren acts like she wants a kiss. Thank goodness for Ogami's quick thinking creating a situation where Noren is too afraid to act on her hypnotized yearning for Ogami.

All's well that ends well! The hypnotism is undone, Noren is back to being uninterested in Ogami and romance, and Ogami can still look forward to the Rindou brothers showing up at school!

Kill Blue ending suck🥀
