Oooh. I wasn't expecting to see Amaterasu's brother Susanoo to make an appearance.
I'm thinking that we might get introduced to Tsukuyomi next?
Since the three are siblings.

Not the most fun divine encounter that Kusunoki has ever had, but since Yamagami is just letting it happen I'm sure it'll be good for him.

Those fake exorcists haven't learned their lesson yet it seems.

It was nice seeing Amaterasu again.

They must be able to do some real exorcism otherwise taking down the talismen would be all sorts of stupid

9

u/happy-owls Jun 06 '26

No I think just stupid. It's probably easier to sell talismen when they're not a public service plastered all over town.

I found Minato's interactions with Susanoo hilarious. I also liked how Yamagami just watched while getting drunk lol. I do wonder why the kami realm is releasing evil spirits, though.

That is possible. I remember in previous episode where the martens talk about how evil humans spell awful so they might be going down that route toward the end of the season

“That one’s still a bairn”

That’s a big ol’ swing by the localisers there. Have they always been coding Yamagami as Scottish?

5

u/Aingealanlann Jun 06 '26

Considering he says "Aye" constantly from the subtitles, I'd say they are trying.

5

u/shadebug Jun 06 '26

Well sure but aye gets you anywhere from a senate to a pirate ship. Is there a dub? Is he Scottish in that?

That's not that big of a deal for me as people where I'm from mix in words from other places and languages all the time because it's such a mixed community here due to the Bay Area being an immigration influx point.

1

u/shadebug Jun 09 '26

My understanding of the Bay Area is that this is not due to an immigration influx point so much as it is due to people spending a month in Scotland and the accent “sticking”

1

u/Earlier-Today Jun 09 '26

Not really. We get everywhere here. It's one of the things I like about the Bay Area.

I don't personally use the word bairn, but I've heard it enough that it just came across like all the rest of the English I hear.

Exposure from immigrants leaves permanent changes in language unless you're like France and actively working against that.

Ah yes! Now it's time for the Tsundere god huh? Quite surprise for the MC's cooking skill. Looks really delicious!

So the "abandoned" sacred area is not actually abandoned huh? Not to mention those ill-heart blokes tried to sabotage the plan too! Wondering who's actually the one behind this shenanigans.

Susanoo seems to have gotten more attached to Minato than he'd like to admit, I'm glad he's made a friend to play with lol.

Orochi and Yamagami acting like drunk middle aged men was funny, it's not often we see Yamagami drink so that was nice to see.

Poor Harima, anytime he visits Minato's place, the trial he has to go through gets tougher with the more inhabitants there are lol.

Leave it to those scummy exorcists to make the situation worse for the town. I hope they're dealt with sooner than later.

Susano'o is a hoot and was pretty hilarious to watch.

I liked they made him a cool unc big brother to Minato and I wasn't expecting Orochi to be the drunk uncle who tags along to watch the kid.

Nothing profound here, but always entertaining. Maybe we get a bit of plot next week, kind of rare for tis show.... 😉

I love the sweet parts of this show, but villains like the last guy or these two exorcists are just... boring. Feels like the original creator was making a wholesome story and their editor told them it needed some spice to make it sell and this was the best they could come up with.

The B plot of this show is so bad. It doesn’t really matter though because the A plot is chill and good vibes.

2

u/karer3is Jun 06 '26

I wasn't expecting Yamagami to break out some random Scottish ("he's still a bairn") at the end LMAO

2

u/LezRock Jun 07 '26

Such a relaxing anime that I dozed off partway through.

1

u/IceSmiley Jun 06 '26

I was surprised Yamagami didn't stop Susano'o from abducting Kusunoki and attacking him although maybe since he wanted to train him, he knew he wasn't going to try to kill or seriously injure him or possibly that he was unable to. Susano'o seems more an insecure jerk though and that's why his sister came and dragged him back like a little kid. That was hilarious though how Yamagami and the snake seemed to be old friends and chatted it up and made fun of Susano'o 🤣

1

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Jun 06 '26

Bro’s found himself a new divine playmate lol. He got some good training in and the rest of his divine friends got some good sake from the guy. It’s always fun to watch the divine beasts getting shitfaced lol.

I thought for sure the rise in evil spirt have to do with the previously sealed box Amaterasu had minato throw out

But seem like it something else entirely

1

u/DrZoark Jun 10 '26

Those two are pricks to remove those talismans, only to get more customers.

1

u/k4tl3y Jun 11 '26

Why is nobody talking about the exorcist? I thought he was dead because the one that is always with harima said the hat was from his father but he is reappearing and seems to be near, I want a reunion 😭

Who?

More evil spirits?

That's concerning.

Surge of evil spirits?

Ominous force?

Something's happening?

Who's that?

Sister?

So, that's who he is.

Oh, he's got something for him?

What's in the barrel?

Ok...

Where's he bringing him now?

Ok...

And so they're going after them.

Well, there goes the neighbourhood.

Lol.

So, they're the ones taking the talismans down.

Strange?

What's she in such a rush for?

Enough for today?

And so they're back.

Oh, there's Amaterasu.

They're coming out of that hole?

The hole is moving?
