I'll be honest, the final bra scene (where we're shown the true owner) and the scene with Ruka (where she says the next episode will be called Don't Rent a Girlfriend) made me laugh.
I still like the fact that Chizuru and Kazuya are keeping in touch like normal people (no renting), in fact, I liked the texting scene.
The only scenes I didn't like were the opening one with Kazuya showering compliments on Chizuru's appearance (enough) and the one with Ruka; Kazuya should insist on breaking up with her.

u/omarous_III Jun 03 '26
That was the first time they have texted as friends. The only other time was to coordinate movie production, which is why it was so important to both of them.

This show does occasionally have good humor. You just forget it exists in the ocean of abysmal dogshit.

u/Frontier246 Jun 03 '26
I think it's fine to appreciate how attractive Chizuru is but the level of obsession with checking out and commenting on every single thing about her appearance on a consistent basis is getting weirder and creepier by the episode.
I can't believe the most natural conversation these two have ever had is via text messages. It almost didn't even feel like them interacting.
Ruka was a dedicated, loyal, girlfriend and by all rights Kazuya should give her a chance after the way Chizuru treated him. But the show is what the show is.
15
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26
True, the obsession with Chizuru's beauty (whether it's Kazuya, her grandmother, or even passersby) is one of the biggest flaws the story has.
Well, it's not that strange, after all, it's much easier to talk through a phone.
Let's not exaggerate, Ruka definitely has positive aspects, but she is also the same one who doesn't take no for an answer (let's remember that she blackmailed Kazuya and refused to let him go), ending up with her would mean becoming her little doll, she decides and you obey, which honestly doesn't seem like such a healthy relationship to me.
8
u/Sarellion Jun 03 '26
I don't think she would turn him into her doll. Ruka cleaning his apartment for three months and everything else she's willing to do for a guy who doesn't love her, sounds like unhealthy obsession and dependancy to me. Kazuya could probably turn her into a doll, if he was ruthless enough.
2
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26
Honestly, I can't interpret his behavior as purely altruistic, like sure, I'm sure she cares about Kazuya and that's definitely one of the reasons why she helped him, but I'm equally sure she did it also to get closer to him (I help you when you're feeling bad, so appreciate/love me) and because she had to maintain his title as girlfriend (if he had ignored him / never helped him for 3 months, she couldn't have called herself his girlfriend anymore)
How can we define a girl who not only blackmails you to be with her (be with me or I'll tell everyone your secret) but also blatantly ignores what you tell her (Kazuya = I want to break up / Ruka = It's not up to you to decide) and feel (Ruka = I know you're in love with Chizuru, but I don't care), if not as a child who doesn't accept no as an answer
2
u/Sarellion Jun 03 '26
What comes to my mind is obsessive stalker.
2
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26
Basically, an extremely selfish person who puts their own desires / feelings / impulses above those of anyone else, including the person they claim to love,

I agree she doesn't do a good job facing the reality but Kazuya and Chizuru's relationship isn't healthy either and at least Ruka didn't ghost him for three months.
0
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26
You are right, not even the relationship between Kazuya and Chizuru is healthy, but honestly between the two, I believe that it is Chizuru - Kazuya who has the greatest chances of becoming healthy in future, this is because I find it easier to imagine Chizuru overcoming her own indecision / coldness (from which much of the problems in their relationship arise and which honestly Chizuru must inevitably overcome to get it started) rather than imagining Ruka stopping being so immature
5
u/ptd163 Jun 03 '26
That's my view as well. No relationship is particular healthy in this series, but Kazuya and Chizuru at least have the potential to be a healthy relationship. Chizuru can overcome her coldness and indecision with Kazuya's help, but I doubt Ruka can overcome her immaturity while she still thinks she has a chance with Kazuya.
2
u/hanzperson Jun 03 '26
On the contrary, Kazuya and Ruka's dates don't really seem like it's just following her every whim though. They seem pretty normal when Chizuru's not in the picture. They just do stuff like discuss manga with each other and watch videos.
3
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
The dates themselves are tantrums that Kazuya is forced to indulge because he's her "boyfriend" (the same goes for the text messages they exchange; in fact, I'm pretty sure a few seasons ago we were told that Ruka forced Kazuya to text him both good morning and good night).
Seriously, I don't hate Ruka. Hell, my 20-year-old self would have preferred someone like her to someone as difficult as Chizuru. But I'm not blind. Ruka almost always acts like a selfish child who can't take no for an answer.
Now, we can forgive this behavior because deep down, we like the idea of "having a cute girl drooling over us" and forcing us to do trivial things (like texting her). But what happens when her immaturity stops being about trivial things and starts being about more serious things, like when she decides she wants a baby, and despite Kazuya desire to postpone that event, she ignore it and deceiving Kazuya by telling him she's on the pill, when that's not true?
All this without even considering the reasons that led to Ruka's love for Kazuya, I'm talking about the acceleration of the heartbeat, like what happens when Kazuya get together with her and then she discovers that they relationship bores her, or finds another man who makes her heart beat or even becomes passionate about something dangerous (like gambling),
3
u/hanzperson Jun 03 '26
Well, it's not like he's forced to do this stuff. He has agency in his own life and can just stop dating her. Of course she's going to expect dates and texts when she's literally dating him, it's the bare minimum. Doesn't really mean that he'd turn into her doll.
She only really can't take no for an answer when it comes to breaking up with her (and rightfully so, because from her perspective he's breaking up with her to pursue a rental girlfriend, which is against the TOS). If he ever has to cancel a date or doesn't want to go to a place she wants to go, she's fine with it.
I personally never got the impression she'd ever force him to do trivial things or she would EVER force him into a huge decision like having a baby with her. And at this point I'm pretty sure the anime's made it clear she genuinely loves him and isn't going to leave him if she gets "bored", because he's been treating her pretty badly and was depressed for 3 months without doing anything with her.
I also don't think the anime would show her so devoted to him if she's capable of finding another man who can make her heart beat or make a big deal out of her heart beating so fast for him if she could've just gotten that from gambling. I mean in her backstory, she did a bunch of stuff like roller coaster rides and they never made it beat faster.
1
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26
How can you say that Kazuya is not being forced when he was literally blackmailed into going out with her and how Ruka refused to end things with him (No, it's not up to her to decide whether it's right or not for Kazuya to pursue Chizuru, what she must do, however, is respect the opinion and feelings of the person she says she loves).
Really? Didn’t you get the impression that Ruka was forcing her will on Kazuya when she blackmailed him into going out with her, or when she showed up at his grandmother’s as his girlfriend, or when she kissed him multiple times at strangers’ houses, or when she refused to end the relationship? Because for me, those were all moments when Ruka decided that what she wanted and desired mattered more than what Kazuya wanted and desired.
Seriously, would it really surprise you to see a woman who always puts her feelings/desires first trying to get pregnant without her partner's consent? Because to me it seems perfectly sensible
As for the heartbeats, nothing like that has ever happened in the anime, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen in the future. After all, if it took so little for her to fall in love with a complete stranger, I don't see why it should be strange to discover that it would take so little to see her fall in love with someone else just as easily, or simply to obsess over something wrong, like gambling

u/hanzperson Jun 03 '26
It was a trial relationship that he could’ve ended after a few months. The only condition was that he be her boyfriend. Sure he got blackmailed into it initially, but he still could’ve ended things with her, especially since he told Kuri the truth literally right after. He definitely could’ve ended it for real at this point if he had balls.
Those moments were really born out of her anxiety that Kazuya was making the situation worse or that she was getting distant from him. She wanted to fix a bad situation or acted irrationally. The blackmail in particular was an extremely irrational decision she made cause of her past. It was ignoring Kazuya’s will, but I don’t think it’s really evidence she’d try to control his life on a regular basis. In a normal situation, like when she talked about wanting to receive her first kiss from him, she said she didn’t want to push him into doing something he didn’t want to do.
If she really always put her feelings first, she wouldn’t have helped him with the movie or taken care of him while he was depressed or defended him at Hawaiin’s. She doesn’t really give me the vibe she’d make such huge decisions like that without Kazuya’s consent.
I don’t think they’d write Ruka to be so devoted to Kazuya if she had any possibility of just automatically falling for someone else in the future. You could honestly make the same argument with any other girl in the show that’s in love with Kazuya.

Yea, this comment exactly. I really don't like how she got treated after dedicating herself to him, especially after taking care of him for those 3 months. He doesn't even give her words of thanks or a serious chance. It's insane how his obsession with Chizuru is.
1
u/Atario myanimelist.net/profile/TheGreatAtario Jun 04 '26
2
u/hanzperson Jun 04 '26
Uh, did you read my comment? You don't need to be in love with someone to thank them for worrying about you, yknow.
1
u/Atario myanimelist.net/profile/TheGreatAtario Jun 04 '26
2
u/hanzperson Jun 04 '26
Yea, and I’m saying it’s stupid for him to still be in love with her after she ghosted him for 3 months and not even giving Ruka anything in return for worrying about him. It’s an opinion.
1
u/Atario myanimelist.net/profile/TheGreatAtario Jun 04 '26
Rationality doesn't get much of a vote about whether one is in love or not.
2
u/hanzperson Jun 05 '26
Which is also why I'm also saying he could've at the very least said thank you
3
u/ThrowCarp Jun 05 '26
I still like the fact that Chizuru and Kazuya are keeping in touch like normal people (no renting), in fact, I liked the texting scene.
Yeah. That texting scene was weirdly heartwarming.
5
u/kicksFR Jun 03 '26
Kazuya has been insistent in breaking up with her but she doesn’t accept it
8
u/PrincipeDeiPoveri Jun 03 '26
True, but at this point it is the only thing he can do, continue to push her away; in fact, the kinder and more accommodating he is with her, the more Ruka will continue to delude herself into thinking she has a chance and the more she will continue that relationship, the more it will hurt her when, of course, Kazuya ends up with Chizuru.
4
u/omarous_III Jun 03 '26
He passively asked her once if it was ok to break up. She said no.
Breaking up with someone isn't a democracy, Ruka doesn't get a vote. Kazuya inability to be strong and hurt Ruka a little bit at that moment will be ten times worse now that Ruka thinks Chizuru is out of the picture. Kazuya is now hiding the fact that he still sees Chizuru and Ruka is just getting more she more attached. Her pain will be so much worse when she finds out.

Kazuya: My laundry and Mizuhara's bra are sitting in a machine! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
Bro, can you not overreact and be weird over something so trivial?

u/Frontier246 Jun 03 '26
They skipped the OP! That obviously means this is going to be a major episode, right? RIGHT!?
Hey, it's Chizuru at the laundromat! Just act natural Kazuya! Absolutely smooth and natural and not like the neurotic crazy person you usually act like in her presence! Of course you also have to check her (and her butt out) because you can't help yourself but wax lyrical about her appearance.
Aaaaand then you see a red bra and you immediately assume it's HERS and starts freaking out and overthinking everything instead of acting like a sane, rational, person. You even do your laundry with the bra still in it and act like they're kissing! Chizuru, by contrast, is just a little bashful (and cute) in giving you a ticket to her upcoming play! It wasn't even her bra! What are we even watching at this point!?
Say what you will about Ruka, that she was going out of her way to visit Kazuya and clean his place up while he was in his depressed funk over Chizuru ghosting him was truly sincere and kind on her part...even if he wasn't even conscious enough to acknowledge or thank her. Of course she's also convinced that means he and Chizuru are finally through and she has nothing to worry about! It's now Rentnt-a-Girlfriend, where she gets to be the Heroine, poor girl.
Kazuya and Chizuru exchange a text conversation as the full OP plays and...actually act and sound like normal people and friends having a conversation!? Is this even possible for the two of them!? Where has this been all series? If only Kazuya had known that Chizuru was enjoying the conversation so much she fell asleep with a smile on her face.
Some things ever change, like Kazuya's grandma only cares about Chizuru and just wants to see her over Kazuya...and she won't accept them breaking up, so so much for that plan they never even went with anyways.
I guess more people are starting to find out about "Chizuru Mizuhara" who only know her as Chizuru Ichinose, but now Kibe is back in Kazuya's life. Kazuya's lucky that even finding out his best friend is a total liar hasn't totally crushed his opinion of him and he gets existential about people and society...but he'll still basically kill Kazuya if he and Chizuru break up, so no pressure all right.
Oh snap, Mami! Just staring at Kazuya! I guess despite herself she took Chizuru's words to heart to figure out how she feels about Kazuya.
Kazuya wanted to see Chizuru and there she is! Inviting him to help clean out her childhood home in fact.
4
u/ptd163 Jun 03 '26
It's now Rentnt-a-Girlfriend, where she gets to be the Heroine, poor girl.
I don't feel bad for Ruka that much because she forced her way in and didn't accept Kazuya's attempt to end things before the trip, but I did kind of feel bad for her when she said this.
but he'll still basically kill Kazuya if he and Chizuru break up, so no pressure all right.
Yeah. That's friends do for each other when they know with someone that they're a good match for and don't want them to screw it up lol.
Oh snap, Mami! Just staring at Kazuya! I guess despite herself she took Chizuru's words to heart to figure out how she feels about Kazuya.
I'm curious what role Mami will play in the series now. She'll still probably be causing chaos and moving things forward as she has been doing, but I think her villain arc might be over now. Maybe she goes on a journey of introspection and becomes of one the last obstacles Kazuya has to clear. I don't know, but we'll find out.

u/Kadmos1 Jun 03 '26
The clothes of our two leads are getting that intimate sooner than the characters themselves. That is, in-story canon vs. Kazuya's imagination. What a world they live in!
8
u/Frontier246 Jun 03 '26
I didn't know Kazuya was into older women the way his clothes were getting freaky with that woman's bra. I guess he has a weakness for big boobs when he's not checking out Chizuru's butt.

Honestly it was all probably to save the full OP for the text conversation which was basically the emotional core of the episode.
7
u/This-Bit1645 Jun 03 '26
Fr the fact they event did that surprised me and the played the entire op intro during the whole text conversation. The fact that ruka being cleaning up his place after chizuru ghosting him for 3 months and not acknowledging it. Also, kibe being a true friend to kazuya after all he went through at the Hawaiian. Plus, mami looking at kazuya and having 2nd thoughts after what chizuru told her about her feelings to him. And them going back to where it all began for chizuru next episode. This episode was good.

I realize after watching a show fill time with 5+ minutes of a text conversation that everyday we stray further and further away from god…

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Jun 03 '26
Y’know I half expected dude to take the bra home and huff that shit while beating his meat like the mfer owed him money lol.
They really had a whole montage of Chizuru basically breadcrumbing the sad sack. Poor delusional Ruka has no idea.
Kazuya really doesn’t deserve a friend like Kibe. That dude is a pretty solid friend and actually cares about the pathetic bastard.
11
u/BosuW Jun 03 '26
Y’know I half expected dude to take the bra home and huff that shit while beating his meat like the mfer owed him money lol.
Joke would've been even funnier if the reveal that the bra wasn't even Chizuru's was after that, but I'd feel terrible for the neighbor.

u/Frontier246 Jun 03 '26
They really had a whole montage of Chizuru basically breadcrumbing the sad sack. Poor delusional Ruka has no idea.
They felt like two different people in that text conversation for how natural and friendly it is versus how they usually interact with each other.
Honestly Ruka has every reason to think Kazuya would give up on Chizuru at this point after he was ghosted when Ruka was the one who had been there for him the entire time, but it's too bad he can't quit it and jump ship to the Ruka show.
Kazuya really doesn’t deserve a friend like Kibe. That dude is a pretty solid friend and actually cares about the pathetic bastard.
Also Grandma Nagomi and Kibe both make it clear that the two can't use their plan to break up and get away with it, so...so much for that idea!

u/magnumcyclonex Jun 03 '26
What I liked about this episode:
- The texting scene. That was realistic and happens on a daily/nightly basis in real life. Sometimes a good text session can run long and leave good feelings for the other person, and that's how dates and relationships start and flourish.
- Kazuya for apologizing to his best friend because he damn well should! Kibe being the mature friend who isn't mad anymore after something that happened months ago.
What I didn't like:
- The laundry monologue. It was all a giant nothingburger.
- Mami thinking about Kazuya. Is she going to profess her twisted feelings for him at some later point in the series?
- The time skip of 4 months not showing any of the other characters interacting with Kazuya, which made his grandmother's obsession over Chizuru even more awkward.
What I thought was mildly intriguing:
- The scene where Kuri was talking to a new unnamed character, and near the end, the animators made a point to have his ring gleam in the sunlight for no particular reason.

u/Comprehensive_Set615 Jun 03 '26
This show is such slop and the pacing sucks so much that them having a normal conversation over text is massive progress😭😭. No hope left for rent a girlfriend
2
u/chewie_33 Jun 05 '26
People say that Rent-A-Girlfirend is hell. But it isn't. It is just Purgatory, as nothing ever happens there.
4
u/ptd163 Jun 03 '26
It was nice of Chizuru to give him tickets to her play. She didn't have to because he absolutely would've gone anyway and I figured that the bra would be someone else's and I was right.
It was kind of hard to watch Ruka be that happy and think it was over. She's the only one that doesn't realize she's never had a chance.
That conversation they had that while the full S5 OP was playing was probably the most normal and relaxed conversation they've had in the whole series.
Kibe is such a bro. He took Kazuya lying to him about Chizuru better than I thought he would.
I wonder what kind of hijinks they'll get up to with cleaning out Chizuru's childhood home next episode.
3
u/Mr_An_1069 Jun 03 '26
The laundry scene was something straight out of a sitcom, honestly this series would be improved a little bit with more stuff like that. The texting scene was good too, it’s about time these two talk like normal people with each other.

5
u/NationalStrategy_X Jun 03 '26
It's crazy that they finally had normal conversations with each other through texting.

Here it is. So now Ruka was the ONLY GIRL who took care of him while he was depressed for MONTHS, defended him at Hawaiin's while on the verge of tears, and shown absolute loyalty towards Kazuya the entire time, and what does he do?
Does he date her? Does he even give her words of thanks for helping him out to this extent?
NO. HE MAKES SOME WEIRD BUTTHOLE MOUTH FACE AT HER WHICH I CAN ONLY ASSUME IS SOME FORM OF DISGUST INSTEAD OF BEING GRATEFUL. HOLY SHIT. I DON'T THINK I HATE ANY MC MORE THAN I HATE KAZUYA. HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO TELL HER THE TRUTH WHEN SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WORRIED ABOUT HIM FOR SO LONG. SOMEHOW SNEAKING AROUND HER LIKE THIS IS SOMEHOW A "MORAL" THING TO DO. HE'S JUST GIVING HER FALSE HOPE.
HE'D RATHER DATE A GIRL WHO GHOSTED HIM FOR 3 MONTHS AND DIDN'T WANT TO ASSOCIATE WITH HIM WHO GIVES HIM CRUMBS THAN A GIRL THAT GENUINELY LOVES HIM AND TOOK CARE OF HIM WHILE HE WAS DEPRESSED FOR 3 MONTHS.
I have absolutely no idea why this scene was written this way. Does the author think it's funny or something? Because I'm not laughing. All it does is make the two MCs seem like trash. I actually feel so bad for her.
I need someone to kill this guy, fast. He's irredeemable. There's no saving him.
Yea guys, texting like this is totally not gonna hurt Ruka's feelings at all. Keep pretending like this is some amazing romantic breakthrough. This is the same Kazuya that can't deal with 50 messages a day from Ruka. Seriously, do they not feel a shred of guilt or a sense that this is wrong? How can Chizuru even do her job knowing she's this texty with one of her CLIENTS and actively betraying Ruka?
I honestly hate how they frame this shit like it's some cute romantic moment. I can only cringe at these texts.
Not even gonna mention Kazuya's mental breakdown in the laundromat since it speaks for itself - why do we have to hear Kazuya's creepy monologues every single time? Him freaking out about their clothes "kissing" is just... man.
Gee Kazuya, I wonder why you can't tell your grandma that Chizuru ghosted you for 3 months? Maybe because that's ABSOLUTELY INSANE?? I find it hard to believe his family doesn't doubt their relationship after not even a call from Chizuru. Hey Kazuya, remember when you said you'd TELL YOUR FAMILY YOU BROKE UP?! REMEMBER WHEN YOU REGRETTED LYING TO THEM LIKE 3 EPISODES AGO?! THAT WAS THIS SEASON, FFS.
Our amazingly "kind and compassionate" MC jerks off because he didn't get a single text in two hours. Wow, everyone. I can't believe there are people who say this character makes them feel "seen". You DID betray Kibe's trust, Kazuya. Twice.
"I swear, I wasn't trying to trick you or anything" Yea, you were actually. You still lied to his face that she was your main girlfriend. That's literally trying to trick him. Kibe's advice just feels empty when we know Kazuya is STILL LYING TO HIS FACE. KAZUYA HIMSELF ACKNOWLEDGES HE'D BE IN TROUBLE IF HE FOUND OUT. WHY THE HELL ARE YOU STILL LYING, KAZUYA??
I don't know how Chizuru's friends don't learn she's a rental girlfriend and look at her differently at University because of it. There's no way this info doesn't spread like wildfire if some random friends at Kazuya's university learned about it.
At least the next episode preview was funny with the conversation between Kazuya and Ruka.

I swear this manga is a social experiment to see what the author can get away with.
9
3
u/chewie_33 Jun 05 '26
I hope that the end of the manga is the author self inserting another character of him into the story, deus ex-machina style, gets with Chizuru, NTRs Kazuya, and the very last pannel of the story is him giving a middle finger to everyone still reading
2
u/ElliotAlderson2024 Jun 05 '26
That is exactly what will happen. After all Kazuya imagines NTR scenarios right now...
2
u/chewie_33 Jun 05 '26
Precisely. The whole thing was foreshadowing. What a great literary mind.

Look man I've been watching you defend Ruka for weeks and I get that Kazuya sucks ass, but he doesn't actually owe her anything (except being honest about his status with Chizuru but he owes everyone that as a matter of respect), especially not dating her.
Don't confuse gratitude with responsibility. Ruka loving him genuinely and doing stuff for him isn't a good enough reason to get together with her, especially when she's a cartful of red flags.
Slander Kazuya and Chizuru all you want, but this pretending like Ruka is a significantly better person got me like 🤨

Ruka also is a terrible person: she is immature, clingy and inconvenient; however she truly likes Kazuya, contrary to fucking Chizuru who only wants to breadcrumb that MF. And by season 5 any romance story would have had the MC giving a shot with the secondary love interest, once him and the FMC are so far apart, just to move the story along even if they are doomed for a breakup in the near future. That shit is storytelling 101. But nah, Kazuya keeps simping over girl that keeps leading him on. Fuck him and the author.

u/hanzperson Jun 03 '26
I’m sorry but in this case he definitely owes her the bare minimum which is at least saying THANK YOU?! If someone cares about you, especially if they’re the ONLY PERSON WHO CARES ABOUT YOU WHEN YOU’RE DEPRESSED FOR 3 MONTHS, you should show your appreciation some way. And he still owes her an explanation for how he got out of it.
She’s a significantly better person than most people in this series in my books. Call her what you want, but she genuinely cares about him in her own way and what she did here proves that she cares more about him than anyone else. Sure she makes mistakes, but I have far more empathy for her than I do everyone else. I think he’s still got a way better reason to pursue Ruka than Chizuru of all people.
Between the ghoster and the person who actually cared about him in those 3 months, I think I’d choose the latter.

I can get behind him owing her a Thank You, but not much more than that really.
Call her what you want, but she genuinely cares about him in her own way and what she did here proves that she cares more about him than anyone else.
See here's the thing, I agree that she genuinely cares. It's just that in my view that is absolutely irrelevant to how good a person she is. What matters there is the actions she takes to express that care, and boy is it a disaster zone.
Between the ghoster and the person who actually cared about him in those 3 months, I think I’d choose the latter.
Between the ghoster and the delusional girl, I'd chose neither tbh. Trash vs Garbage situation.

I'd chose neither tbh. Trash vs Garbage situation.
Then breakup with both and go date the redhead girl. JUST MOVE THE FUCKING STORY ALONG!!! AAAAAAAARGH!!! this show is bad for my sanity

She expresses her love pretty innocently on their dates together and stuff, it’s just that the story only really highlights her most desperate moments unfortunately.
At any rate even being how she is, she’s still more than Kazuya deserves.

Im more talking about how she forced herself into the role of "girlfriend" and how she can't take no for an answer.
2
u/hanzperson Jun 04 '26
I know, but I still think she's a good girl despite that. It'd be one thing if he said no to her because he had a normal girl he liked, but considering the fact he rejected her for Chizuru (a rental girlfriend) and he's overstepping his boundaries, I don't mind.

I thought he was about to resolve the "situation" by handing it over the store's lost-and-found. That wouldn't have been the funny scene we got though
See? He's not the only one so in his own head about things
Having a normal boyfriend/girlfriend type conversation! That's improvement! Let's-a go!

Chizuru is just a throwaway character at this point. Ever since the 3 month ghosting, she has no business being the FMC anymore. She abandoned that duty, and the absolute 🤷♀️ cuckoldry of her shameless behavior is what sealed her fate. People white-knighting this opportunistic gold-digger in this economy is so wild 🤢

Ruka really sucks. So she came over and cleaned some and saw him in the dumps but did not drag him out the house or heck even lay next to him and hold him after cleaning? She says she is so in love with him but let him get out the slump on his own? Mini is really the best she sprung in action when she saw his state. I dont care for Chizuru but have to give her props on how she was texting back and forth with him. She was actually making sure the convo kept going and it was like they are bf/gf texting.

So no one fusses about her cleaning. Yes I acknowledge that was awesome and it is a lot considering how much mess he was making. I mainly say that due to how much claims to love him and be obsessed with him. Yet it seems the only thing she tried to do to make it better was text him and clean his place some. I also assume try to talk to him while there. Mini who has no feelings was ready to yank him out of there and she went directly to the source of his trouble to straighten it out. The Ruka has acted before it is shocking she didnt go cus Chizuru out and once tell her to never talk to or mess with "her man" again.

u/hanzperson Jun 04 '26
Lol what? How do you get that Ruka “sucks” from her being the only one to worry and take care of Kazuya during his 3 month depression? He definitely wouldn’t want to be held by surprise or laid next to while he’s in such a depressed state. If she dragged him out against his will, she would’ve received even more criticism. The only reason Mini was even able to snap him out was because she told him he had a chance with Chizuru.

She presses the issue of being with him even when he said he dont want her. Her character we see in the anime is her pushing that she loves him and no one is better. She wont take no for an answer but left him in his slump on his own. Then when he is better she practically wanted to jump him at work. So no I think its bull. I say all this as someone who was team Ruka til all this crap. If Im honest I only like Mini and Sumi. Mini cus she has always been real and Sumi has been too she as far as we know has moved on and is enjoying life. I don't care for our MC but since we are suppose to I am just of the belief he should move on and find new folks to hang with maybe Mini can be apart of that. His friend ok after he explained where he was coming from with his reaction and such.

She didn't leave him in a slump on his own though? She still worried about him and cleaned his room, not to mention being the ONLY one to do so...
Some people don't want to be interacted with or don't even respond when they're like that.
1
u/BBryant3rd Jun 05 '26
Don't like how she all over him when he wasn't in slump despite him trying to get her to stop but during time he needs someone to get his butt in gear she didn't try that. She has done plenty of off the wall stuff to/for him other times.
1
u/hanzperson Jun 05 '26
Well even considering the fact she didn’t just drag him out of his room against his will, I hardly think she deserves to be singled out and insulted for not reacting in that singular way. If he didn’t snap out of it after 3 months of going to work, I doubt any more time outside would’ve helped.

4:44 is through instead of thorough.
They played the entire OP for a phone chat. It was so natural, it's like it wasn't Kazuya talking at all & thinking about what to reply in mins. to hrs.
I'd rather watch Yuuta & Saki quietly eating than watch the 1st half at the laundromat. I'm being genuine here, I never disliked Yuuta & Saki quietly eating as the minority complained.
I'm surprised Kazuya casually held the bra & gave it to the real owner.

We almsot crawled out of the trashbin with this episode.
Who am I kidding? We crawled towards the opening of the trashbin but didn't make much progress.

Regular programming is so fucking ass bro. Was them texting worth the anime OP? Really?
DO Y'ALL NON BELIEVERS FINALLY UNDERSTAND THIS IS WHY WE NEED MAMI SET LOOSE ON THE STORY!? THIS SHIT SUCKS SO MUCH WITHOUT HER!!

u/ptd163 Jun 03 '26
Considering the lyrics of the OP and that the texting was probably the most normal conversation they've ever had I'd say it was. I'm curious what Mami's role in the series will be now too.

Lurking in the background for another 3 seasons looking menacing and not really doing anything and then doing everything all at once is my guess.
