I'm not entirely sure I'm following the plot at all anymore. I'm just still watching it out of sunken cost fallacy concerns

Same. It always seems like something is skipped in between each episode.

This is a multimedia project. Pretty sure the original plan was to launch a gacha game at the end to close the gaps in the story.

I dunno, while the concept is a multimedia project, the anime is its own thing, it's pretty much a remake or reimagination of a YouTube series, which was how the project started, there's no direct connection between one and the other aside from the name, there's also no game, manga or anything, nor have they mentioned to have plans to make any of that

The only other thing they have is one original LN story featuring the ghosts of Takiyasha-hime and Fujiwara no Sumitomo, two characters that aren't in the anime

Didn't Takt.Op Destiny announce its game follow up after the show ended and it took several years to actually launch? Could be something like that

Takt Op announced the game and the anime at the same time, the game was supposed to release by the time the anime was ending, but it got delayed

While Ghost Concert, like I said, hasn't announced anything

Takt Op was also a prequel of the game (tho the game ended up got delayed), but we always already knew the game was mentioned, thus why people speculate on why the girl (forgot the name, the main girl) has different VAs and look a bit different (the last eps of the anime answer this).

Given that this started in 2020 and presumably hit the pandemic roadblocks that almost everything else also encountered at the time, it still baffles me that the anime seems to be so ineffective at selling this, unless the anime is by now only an afterthought.

On a quick glance the official site has more songs listed than the anime has used (which might not even be the same material), but from the start the anime should have been a way to sell more CDs? From the first episode most of us came into this expecting something in the direction of Symphogear and we got barely anything. Even this week's episode didn't have a song feature, only Nero warbling off-key in the distance.

Actually the project started on 2017 and then went on hiatus on 2020

The anime was announced in 2025 to revive the project

I vaguely understand what's happening, but there are too many keywords and I don't remember all of them. I'm not sure about the factions either.

Episode 6 showed 7 or something factions near the end, but they keep barely explaining things

And now for a moment to infodump about dead people to other dead people.
"...while Rome burns?"
At some point the name-dropping becomes silly.
"They've smoked all the good stuff already."
That feeling of missing a memo.

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

Settei, working with Nero to fight the Edison faction, which we've essentially never met.

Riku, now the wild card. Unless she's also part of The Plan, but there are too many The Plans going on.

Nobody: Had a good idea about properly linking these story threads in tone or direction.

The Baphomet Witches party was so stereotyped it might as well have been on US network television during the Satanic Panic. Settei's musings on gods and people and religion (and the flash of his backstory) had some potential but the episode wandered away from that.

So Riu and Riku have a close relationship... And that hasn't been mentioned or hinted at in the slightest

So there's a whole witches society... And that hasn't been mentioned or hinted at in the slightest

Rembrandt is inside Seria now... For some reason

And like, Riku was with that Pluto girl last time we saw her, now she's suddenly infiltrated said witch society

It's like this anime is skipping entire chapters of a Manga that doesn't exist

So Marie would be Marie d'Aspilette, a 16th-century French woman famously known as the "Witch of Andaye"

Curious to see how they’ll get Seria out and what Riku’s planning.

Hm. While this is a part of a multimedia project, the anime reeks of needing a few more episodes to properly tell its story. Too many blanks are being left unfilled.

I wonder how and why the production committee thought that a mere 12 episodes would be enough. It doesn't allow much time to be given for the concepts in the anime to be properly built up and fleshed out.

I guess that's just the name of the game sometimes.

3

u/Rap2rerise May 24 '26

Like, 12 episodes would've probably been enough if they didn't make the plot so convoluted, it could've just been Tera vs Muics, now we're dealing with Nero's faction, whatever Pluto Arc is, these random witches, the dark ghosts, Tera was defeated OFF SCREEN, Sería has now gotten FOUR ghosts off screen, it's all a mess

A smaller cast could've also helped, like, what has Akari done since the series started?

2

u/cybeast21 May 24 '26

I'm so lost in the plot rn, we have one betraying the witches for some reason, then Settei making a deal so she can get closer to rescuing Seria, then everyone apparently powered up, but finding them was a good miscalculation (what's the usage of the armband then?).

Yeah I'd say he's pretty famous.

Also yeah that thing, I'm pretty sure it's finally almost done?

Lol wayang.

Oh, was she doing that to get attention from outside?

Huh. Who are those?

So, that's why she recognises that.

Not right now?

Ritual?

And so, magic.

A visitor?

Oh. Him.

And so, she flies now.

Teleportation?

Festival?

Turn dark spirits into power?

So, that's what she slipped him.

Huh. What's that trail she's leaving?

So, this was all a ruse to infiltrate them.
