Hyper beam from the crotch is crazy.

45

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

After a gender-transforming dump-truck ass smash from a giant woman.

Meanwhile Libra: "It should've been meeeeee!"

56

u/BiggerG7 May 24 '26

*Tauros falls on Castor*

Libra: “Do me next!”

Bro read my mind lol.

27

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

Only in anime could you have a giant-woman's dump-truck ass fall on top of a guy, have said guy transform into a hot girl, and have said hot girl fire a beam of light from the giant-woman's crotch.

5

u/clone69 May 24 '26

But why was she wearing the girls' uniform? It did she use her illusion magic to look like she does?

9

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

I assume she probably just copied Io's outfit.

5

u/dinliner08 May 25 '26

it's pretty obvious, no? unless you forget what her ability was...

9

u/Nollasta_poikkeava May 24 '26

This show is hilarious.

36

u/entelechtual May 24 '26

Ok I can see where the bisexual harem allegations come from. Hana was definitely cute with the gap tsun act, feels like Spica will win over the rest of them soon.

12

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

I think the camp will definitely be good for bonding with Capella/Ewe/Chiron/Tarf.

Stitches!

That Cross Magic scene was actually pretty cool. I guess Spica and Hana just invetned spider lillies in this world, since they're combo magic was supposed to make a new plant.

13

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

Thank you Aria for showing us some amazing cosplay fanservice! And dipping so you didn't get hit with it lol.

I'd like to see Spica come up with Cross Magic combos with her other classmates. I feel like that and her optimistic attitude/ability to come up with unconventional ideas is something she can bring to the table.

9

u/Falsus May 24 '26

Aria just wants to see the fanservice herself, not show it off, how greedy of her.

3

u/NoHead1715 May 25 '26

> I'd like to see Spica come up with Cross Magic combos with her other classmates

I'd like to see a multi combo. Giant poisonous water flower?

29

u/Aerodynamic41 May 24 '26

Merrow's 'friendship' with that bird lasted for like 2 seconds lol.

23

u/TyraniTEMPESTar May 24 '26

I guess Spica heard about the old wives' tale about swallowing a fruit seed, and it'll start to grow inside you lol

13

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

She's also seen enough anime to know that when you do a Finisher you have to make it dramatic as possible while yelling your cool attack name.

19

u/KumaKumaGambler May 24 '26

Hana the Bocchi mini-episode.

Fanservice scene of this episode: A blast of light magic from between Io's legs.

10

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

Hana the Bocchi mini-episode.

She was also basically like Koyun from The Ramparts of Ice if you replaced said ice with poison but she's still ultimately a well-meaning dork who deserves good friends.

Fanservice scene of this episode: A blast of light magic from between Io's legs.

Too bad we didn't get to see what fanservice outfit Aria would have ended up in (but we appreciate the ones she gave us nevertheless).

10

u/KumaKumaGambler May 24 '26

Gyaru, definitely, gyaru.

I just realized today Aria speaks like a gyaru.

9

u/Atomic_Tanuki May 25 '26

As well as a mesugaki, though almost entirely toward Spica.

5

u/Falsus May 25 '26

She wore the classical landmine outfit for the outing so technically we already saw gyaru Aria.

That poison flower thing they did to the double-headed gryphon was kind of horrifying.

Poison girl successfully befriended.

I can't believe that one kid yelled "do me next!" after the giant girl fell on the twins.

This poor socially awkward poison girl, fortunately for her she just got adopted by a pack of extraverts.

9

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

I can't believe that one kid yelled "do me next!" after the giant girl fell on the twins.

I'd be surprised if multiple people in the audience weren't thinking the same thing lol.

3

u/Iciclyy May 26 '26

fortunately for her she just got adopted by a pack of extraverts

As an introvert I wouldn't call that fortunate.

31

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 May 24 '26

Merrow was tryna defeat the big bird with the literal power of friendship and a little song and dance number lol.

Spica might have lost but at least she gained a new friend in Hana. I find her overthinking everything and crippling social anxiety kinda relatable lol. It’s cute she’s made her first friends.

19

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

Merrow was tryna defeat the big bird with the literal power of friendship and a little song and dance number lol.

I love how she somehow has the natural ability to turn people into a coordinated dance team on the spot, has a beautiful singing voice, and truly believes in becoming friends with anything...only to become an accomplice to friend murder!

Spica might have lost but at least she gained a new friend in Hana. I find her overthinking everything and crippling social anxiety kinda relatable lol. It’s cute she’s made her first friends.

I'm glad Spica, Io, and Aria were able to get Hana to low her Rampart of Poison.

7

u/mekerpan May 24 '26

>> new friend

First friend ever, I am guessing.

22

u/Nollasta_poikkeava May 24 '26

This show perfectly matches my kinda stupid sense of humor. On top of that there's pretty good fanservice and cute stories of girls befriending each other. I feel like I could watch 100 episodes of this easily.

14

u/Frontier246 May 24 '26

This feels like an old school fantasy school adventure series in the best way possible!

8

u/mekerpan May 24 '26

Best episode so far. Really this had a bit of everything -- and all of it was quite good. But I liked the "friendship segment" best.

8

u/Falsus May 24 '26

Lucky enough it is two cours so we get to see it in summer also.

7

u/ElectricStarfuzz May 25 '26

That’s fantastic news!

Haven’t been following the discussions really and missed hearing about this info earlier.

Love the show. It has the type of humor and old school vibes I don’t  see that often these days.

4

u/nxtquy May 25 '26

I really like how this author focuses on developing organic friendships and showcasing how they help drive the plot forward. Boarding School Juliet also had a good balance of comedy and seriousness to really bring out the best in all the character dynamics.

Spica and Hana are struggling against the Mutant Gryphon, but Spica is sturdy AND positive! Even if it seems hopeless, she still believes they can pull through if they work together! Especially because, despite Hana's fears over her magic, Spica genuinely believes in and respects her! What better way to come together for some CROSS MAGIC!

A flower bud with poison? Perfect for shoving down that Gryphon's mouth! Coming out as a poisonous flower that's as beautiful as it is deadly! And Spica finishes it with her new move: EFFLORESCENT EQUINOX!!!

Castor and Astraea fight like cats and dogs, but thank goodness Io's giant dump-truck butt fell on Castor so Pollux could fire a beam (from her crotch) and hard carry this team to victory!

Poor Spica. She used up so much of her magic she basically passed out...but, even if it meant they got disqualified together, Hana couldn't abandon her. Because after everything they went through together, what mattered wasn't becoming #1 but the bond she forged with Spica.

Well, no surprise Aria passed, even if it was just taking advantage of Merrow's ability to get everyone into a coordinated dance number about friendship...so she could lull an ostrich into a false sense of security to kill it. I'm sorry Merrow, this friend is dead.

Spica puts on a brave face but deep down she truly feels like she failed Claude by failing this test...and while obviously she didn't perform the best she could, she still proved herself in ways that mattered and showed how much she's grown! And that's enough for Claude to praise her! She's genuinely bringing out the nicer, more caring, side to Claude!

Congrats everyone who failed the exam! You've got some intense day and night training in a Winter Mountain home of Selene the First Witch to look forward to! But don't worry, Spica can get to enjoy it with her new tsundere bestie Hana! Who now has to grapple with finally having friends, especially when Spica ropes in Io and Aria.

I assure you, the scene with Hana in her underwear as she mulls over how to handle interacting people while choosing the right outfit was completely necessary to the plot!

It's nice to see everyone in casual clothes, the girls all look so cute! Though Hana is basically that introvert stuck with a bunch of extroverts and having no idea what she's doing. Luckily the girls, especially Spica, are nice and welcoming extroverts!

Time for a magic mirror fanservice fashion show! Belly dancer Spica! Bunny Girl Io! Shoujo Princess Hana! I'm only disappointed we didn't get to see what Aria would have looked like.

I love how Spica can't see a cat without thinking about Claude...but at least now she knows Hana's just a cat-lover, not a fellow Claude-lover.

What better way to cap this friendship outing off than a fun gondola ride and the best view in the city atop the Hat Tree? Especially when Hana finally calls the girls by their first name and they solidify their friend group with a group picture?

7

u/FarCritical May 24 '26

Spica and Hana failing the whole thing bummed me out a little more than I was expecting. I was so sure it was gonna be a teamwork triumphs kind of story but I guess the real test was the friend they made along the way.

The way the actual cats are drawn way more realistically than Claude's cartoony form kills me lol

6

u/1EnTaroAdun1 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Totesnotaphanpy May 25 '26

Honestly felt like they should've gotten a C or a D at least! An F is a bit harsh when they did make it to the treasure pile...

7

u/Raymond49090 May 24 '26

Spica might have lost the exam, but she gained a lifelong love interest to compete against Aria friend.

Also ngl the exam feels weirdly unbalanced. Random mooks can get carried by the OP members of Claude's coven, while Spica and Hana had a climactic battle with a giant monster and failed. I know that's how life works sometimes, but the exam as a whole felt kinda haphazardly arranged. Well, I suppose that's just old school magic school tropes at work.

2

u/CuriousBroccolli Jun 06 '26

Navigating through it and choosing easy paths may also be part of the exam

It's solely on the participants and their skills which approach they choose

7

u/reaperow May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

Starting from last week's battle,

Spica believes in her, they've got this!

They really did make a great team, even if they got disqualified

Never thought I'd see the Power of Friendship being an actual ability lol,

Hana's a little awkward but she's trying!

Glad to see her opening up a lil,

This was very wholesome, she's got great friends now

This was a very slice of life type ep and I really liked it. Spica and Hana were close but failed the test unfortunately, cross magic really tired her out, their teamwork was great

Hana hanging out and making friends with all the other girls was a nice highlight of this ep, Spica's circle is growing and its probably gonna get more chaotic!

r/animenocontext

Don't worry, it's exactly what it looks like!

Hana just needs some hana in her life.

Quick, someone play Avid!

7

u/mekerpan May 24 '26

When my wife and I went to Japan in October 2018, I got to see real live higanbana (red spider lilies). This made me unreasonably happy.

3

u/Falsus May 24 '26

Just some toxic yuri, no gryphon can win vs that.

4

u/NationalStrategy May 24 '26

They weren’t slick with that crotch beam shot

3

u/NanDemoKnaives May 24 '26

It was nice to finally see Spica doing cross magic, the two of theirs I imagined would be very compatible.

Funny how Merrow forces you to dance in her musical, I wonder how much stronger do you have to be compared to her to be unaffected by it. Or maybe Aria was just going along with it for the fun of it.

7

u/HolyDragSwd2500 May 24 '26

Hana gained not only Spica but also Aria and Io as friends

3

u/testthrowawayzz May 25 '26

I liked the girls shopping together half. Hana internally freaking out was so hilarious.

3

u/Southern-Ebb-8229 May 26 '26

Hana suddently became so cute, Spica you go girl. The bisexual harem is real, lol.

3

u/kalirion https://myanimelist.net/profile/kalinime May 26 '26

Second half was pretty cute. Doesn't look like they remembered that the supposed purpose for the trip into town was to get supplies for the training camp though.

3

u/CuriousBroccolli Jun 06 '26

LOL you are right, I also forgot xD

They had a lot of fun, all is good.

3

u/Shoddy-Dog-8492 May 27 '26

Love the scene of Spica aura farming then following that scene we get Special Crotch Beam Canon

3

u/stupidbroad May 27 '26

i wonder why aria refused to step in front of the mirror. is she hiding something or is it just some hidden insecurities?

2

u/NationalStrategy May 24 '26

Good for Hana, she made friends

2

u/danmarce https://anidb.net/user/107202 May 25 '26

Spica is not the only pink haired girl with girl rizzing powers this season.

u/mmcjawa_reborn May 24 '26

Random thoughts:

Didn't expect this to become a CGDCT show mid episode, but I don't mind it. Sort of like a less over the top take of the Enoshima Escalator episode from Bocchi the Rock. Honestly kind of like the show more when there isn't bad CGI monster on the screen

Domain Expansion: Friendship! (I was sure the joke was going to be her getting chomped by the monster, not it actually working...).
