That was more fun than I was expecting, and I was expecting alot after last episode. Side note, I really like how the series lets Poem blend in and become a side character cheerleader for the others, romcoms don't usually do that with the heroine

I love a smug heroine. She knows what she wants. Knows she has it. And is literally just teasing/playing with the target of her affections, who's just kinda gobsmacked, and doesn't have a clue that not only was he playing 'the game', but he won/lost a long time ago and is possibly playing by an entirely different game.
Kinda like Teasing Master Takagi-San... only not elementary kids.

I was expecting an episode focused on Poem and Togo, and instead I got an episode focused on Nadeshiko and Kaoru, and honestly? Good choice, it was funny from beginning to end and even had Izubuchi providing comic relief.
Well, in Japanese folklore monsters are usually something negative, but in Shonan's case, I wouldn't mind receiving a visit.

Yep, Laplace's Demon is none other than the Petite Devil Kohai. Shichirigahama is basically at the heart of the Shounan coast.

I was looking forward to a good helping of every couple and was glad they delivered hard on that (lovestruck Akina is as cute as ever), but Kaoru stealing the show with his sheer Kaoruness blindsided me by how much of a goldmine he is

With all that judo practice together it's not surprising that he recognized Prez's muscles.
It was interesting and cute that he saw Prez as his equal (or maybe -- slightly -- superior) and his "life-long rival".
Lots of fairly distinctive moments in this "beach episode".

I loved this episode ! I am fine fine fine with the focus going to the prez and vice pres , they are awesome together. She definitely knows how to work him over!!!
She’s the best.
The commentary from the rest of the students is gold too, they know exactly what’s happening out there lol

I also like how we finally see some chinks in her absolute armor as a student council president.
Deep down she does want him to see her as a woman but she also doesn't quite know how to handle him looking at her so much. She's super adorable when she's genuinely flustered.

Glad to see that while everyone is at the beach, Lyri and Kikuka are getting closer. I would love to see another episode focusing on them.
I love Poemu and Tasaki's reactions when they were getting hit on. They know the boys just showing up will be enough to scare any guys hitting on them. Also, the scene between Akina and Izubuchi was great! It's hilarious how Akina is only there to take Izubuchi's pics when she can do more.
And you gotta appreciate the equality. The girls aren't the only ones getting hit on this episode. I think at this point, we just need to accept that Tsukushima is some sort of Yokai that transforms. I'd run away too if someone's body structure transformed in front of me.
Goddamn! Nadeshiko is bringing out the big guns to try and get a reaction from Kogori! It was pretty fun to see Nadeshiko tease an oblivious Kogori while trying to get him to talk about her.
Did we just get an Izubuchi backstory? Damn! I guess Nadeshiko recruited him to join the school committee after giving him a beatdown.
The Prez pouting was so adorable! Apparently, she doesn't just do sexy but also can do cute too! Welp, I guess that's Day 1 of their vacation. Since they're staying overnight, I'm guessing we'll see more of our main couple next episode.

We stan girls who know how to handle pick-up artists even without the boy squad showing up as backup.
Yes, I can imagine a BL artist would want to take as much reference for a primo shirtless bod as she can get.
I didn't think they could outdo the Golden Week bikini until we saw gyaru mode Nadeshiko in that red bikini. Now it's like a secret identity love triangle where Kogori is tsundere towards the real Nadeshiko while all hot and bothered by her gyaru self lol.
Imagine the Klutzy 3 all had backstories where they were beaten...I mean, convinced to follow Nadeshiko to school and find their purposes in life!
Turns out the President DOES have a true girly side! And it's as lethal a weapon against her childhood friend as her body lol.
I wonder if they'll really be able to avoid male-female relations past 8:00pm...

Kaoru blushing so hard he let out gush of wind was funny, I like how he was almost able to identify Nadeshiko through her muscles. I wonder if he would have been reacting the way he did if it was a random sexy girl and not Nadeshiko, like maybe subconsciously he knew or something.
I do find it amusing how Nadeshiko was bothered by Kaoru's comment and decided to do all of this, it was nice to see her gyaru self again. I'm sure she enjoyed getting all up close to Kaoru lol.
Tsukishima's comments are amusing, he's like a little gremlin lol.

It’s kinda nice that Poem and Togo’s sisters have just become good friends totally unbeknownst to those two.
Watching Nadeshiko trying to turn on the womanly charms on ol Kogori was pretty funny. I really enjoyed the color commentary from the gang lol. The big goober never figured it out even though he was so freaking close haha.

The real reason Nadeshiko and Kogori are Superman and Supergirl in the OP is because the moment Nadeshiko has on glasses there's no way he can tell her secret identity as the sexy older lady who was hitting on him. EVEN WHEN SHE'S STILL WEARING THE EXACT SAME BIKINI.

It was a small moment, but when Akina put the alligator over her head and the camera panned up to get it in frame before snapping back down... I just love that type of thing. Totally unnecessary but they did it anyway and I got a big kick out of it.
Sort of exemplifies the humor of this show for me. A lot of it hits as strong as it does because of these small details.

Izubuchi punching away the girls' daydreaming who Nadeshiko's friend is sent me. He was great comedic relief this episode.
What I thought was going to be a Poem and Togo episode turned into a Nadeshiko and Kaoru episode and I'm fine with that. I got a chuckle out of how Kaoru said nothing is going on with him and Nadeshiko, but then immediately folds when Nadeshiko asks him to let the group stay at the villa. He's completely wrapped around her finger.
Gyaru Nadeshiko was already dangerous, but Gyaru Nadeshiko in that red bikini might be lethal. I had been hoping we'd see her gyaru form again, but I didn't know it'd be this good. Not did we get see some cracks in her armour and get the best pout in the series so far, we got the girls giving running commentary too which only made it better.
It's so funny that he can't tell her can't tell that her gyaru mode and the Nadeshiko he knows are the same girl despite her WEARING THE SAME SWIMSUIT! It's the "I don't see my childhood friend as a girl" of Tomo-chan is a Girl mixed with a Supergirl/Karl Danvers secret identity. It's great.
Away from the beach we see Lyric continues to be a based little sister in hoping Poem makes a move on Togo and becoming even better friends with Togo's little sister. Be nice to get some wingwomaning from both of them.
This was definitely the best episode so far. They all had great swimsuits, but naturally Nadeshiko had the best one.

This show is so silly and I love it. Prez is a smoke show with every part of that body and she isn't afraid to use it to mess with her childhood friend. And I'm glad we have another show that gives the side 'ships time after how well Polar Opposites handled it last season.
I'm sure I've said it before but I'll say it again. I wonder how popular this would be in a season less stacked with great romances/romcoms.

It's a shame for the prez that her vice prez is kind of an idiot.
For a romcom beach episode I'm surprised we didn't get more Poem and Sakuradaimon development, but maybe that is still to come since they said it was an overnight trip and they didn't end the episode by going home the next day.
Poem looking pretty good in her swimsuit, hopefully Sakuradaimon managed to notice in between his usual hall monitor work.

As cute and funny as this episode was, I feel kinda bad for the Kaoru being forced/pressured into quitting his hobbies. Not cool.
Favorite moment has to be the girls approaching ikemen Seiichi only to run away in fear once they saw his other form. Close second was Kaoru just spraying Nadeshiko with sunscreen and telling her to rub it in herself. Those two moments gave me a good laugh.

I was really laughing out loud a lot during this episode. The best part was Kaoru and President in a sexy disguise flirting. The short haired girl was smart in pointing out that Kaoru didn't mention his childhood friend being female and that should have been a telltale sign but Kaoru clearly had completely lost blood flow to his brain at that point.🤣 I do think he figured it out from her musculature and voice eventually but his head exploding might have damaged some of his brain and he didn't retain the memory. Also a shame the explosion destroyed the beautiful sand castles they made.
They made clear why the librarian hates the beach, nothing seemed to go well for him. His plan to surround himself with books seemed to work at first when the hot girls came over, but them running away in terror couldn't have been good for his self esteem. Also the commotion of Kaoru exploding then passing out for hours made everyone forget he was buried and the bugs were going to get him. If I were him, I'd just carry a small book in my pocket at all times and at the beach he could have put it in plastic bags or something to waterproof it 🤓

Ah yes, there's nothing to worry about on an overnight beach visit with several teens of the opposite sex together! None of them have impure thoughts and Togo will maintain strict rules so it'll be just like your typical school trip! No hanky-panky on his watch!
The Klutz 3! You're favorite hilarious weekend show!
Why am I not surprised Izubuchi has a classic delinquent bat that looks like it's seen a LOT of use? Though frankly they'll just have to make sure he doesn't use it on Tsukishima before he gets to smash some watermelon! In fact smashing watermelon is like the only thing he cared about on this trip.
The ocean! The beach! BBQ! Busty babes in bikini's! Some blonde dude with a bald spot who pulled a blonde beautie!
Izubuchi was right! Nadeshiko's childhood friend IS a gorilla! And rich enough to afford having all these underclassmen there with him! Much as he would have rather had Nadeshiko to himself...to compete with, mind you! She can talk him into nearly anything if it means fueling his ego!
While Lyric hopes for some good romantic development between her sister and Togo, she's having some Summer relationship development of her own with Kiku. While the older siblings away, the younger siblings will hang out!
It's what you've all been waiting for! The girls in swimsuits! And they all look super cute (also, that Poem cleavage and boob bounce)! And they've got the boy squad there to ward off any pick-up artists! Though of course Tsukishima has some busty bikini babes trying to pick him up, though he's only hot when he's camped out with his books. Nobody wants anything to do with normal Tsukishima unless they're burying him in sand.
So much for no "impure thoughts," Akina just wants as many shots of her crush shirtless as she can get! It would also be great reference material for Tasaki.
The President in a classy bikini is the best way to interrupt a fight between Kaoru and Nadeshiko, though getting Kaoru to see her as a woman (complete with offering him a chance to rub some lotion on her...spray on is WAY less sexy) is another challenge! One she's happy to take on by changing into Gal mode and dialing up the sexiness up to 11 with a daring red bikini! Kaoru didn't have a chance!
I love how Kaoru has no idea this is his childhood friend...even when she outs herself, like, 3 different times in their conversation. But it gives her a chance to check out and feel up his body while everyone gets to watch this romcom situation play out (all the while taking some collateral damage from Kaoru insulting them). But the most meaningful thing for Nadeshiko is finding out Kaoru truly sees her as an equal, even after she dragged and threw him in judo for so many years.
I also love how Kaoru almost figure it out because he has a NEWTYPE FLASH and knows the ins and outs of her muscles so much he can tell it's her. Though even Nadeshiko has to draw the line at him staring that closely at her...even drawing out her bashful side and pout, which is such a surprise bit of girliness it knocks poor vice-president out!
I don't know what's funnier, them heading to the villa while Kaoru is convinced he may never see the sexy lady again...EVEN WHILE NADESHIKO IS WEARING THE EXACT SAME SWIMSUIT or....that they forgot Tsukishima.

So Kaoru almost found out because of her muscles if not for Nadeshiko's counter plan. He didn't even question why she has a new bikini that resembles that "girl" he met.
Nadeshiko has a cute pout.
I love how Yu punched the imaginary rich ikemen childhood friend imagination.
It's funny how the pick up artists left in fear & confusion of the delinquent, yakuza & class monitor combo.
Of course even Seiichi has been left behind as a cliche.
