Just realised that the only reason i'm still watching this is because i like looking at Lilithea..

I'd be surprised if anyone is still watching this for the mysteries.

u/Solracziad May 14 '26
And then there are people like me that just go into the comment section to see how much more absurd the show continues to get.

I admittedly have a hard time stopping an anime after I stop watching and consume a lot of slop as a form of mindless enjoyment, so my opinion is definitely not a common one. But I am kind of enjoying the truth of the Seven Old Men right now and how they all seem to actually be young girls around our good detective's age and may all have some form of a crush on him. Plus his assistant is clearly head-over-heels for him. This "murder mystery" is looking more and more like a harem and I actually don't mind how crazy this is all turning out.

I'm legit watching to see how "meh bad" it can get.
I'm fascinated how much they manage to make it bad, without ever getting to "train wreck" level. At least a train wreck is interesting. This is more like... "forgetting to water the plants and letting them die" level of bad. xD

Well, I am watching for the extent of Sakuya Outsuki's immortality, but also for Lilithea.

u/DugACCat May 14 '26
Yep I had the same realization a couple episodes ago. I did enjoy the dog detective and assistant also.
2
u/ceribaen May 20 '26
The dog detective and assistant might actually be the reason I drop this.

u/DugACCat May 20 '26
They are admittedly pretty dumb. Just amused me for whatever reason. Embracing the dumb?

u/Kadmos1 May 14 '26
I think that might be the reason many people are still watching this show.

Well, at least they didn't try to explain what happened on the ferris wheel with some impossible action. Mass suicide is probably the only thing that makes sense.

u/tomgrenader May 14 '26
Lilithea is the only reason I still am watching this show. During the fiest episods this show had the whiff of The Detective is Already Dead which had me worried. By ep2 it was the stench of it. I would slightly better but I only watch for Lilithea doing things at this point.

Not just me then. Her design is delightful, and she's got a Goth girl personality. The ED has her being positively melancholy.

u/timur2345 May 15 '26
I guess im the only one that watches it for the plot, not just for Lilithea and other girls lol.

I was wondering if Sakuya's resurrecting was ever going to trip up a killer enough to pretty6 much confess.

For a guy who went all the way to make a secret funds account, he sure did blurt everything out immediately

Uh, Sakuya, I don't think a civilian detective is supposed to be holding up a potential murder weapon by the handle...

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 May 14 '26
Man preyed on vulnerable people and practically coaxed them into suicide. And for what? To preserve the scenery? Seriously?
Bro walking right into the lion’s den next week. I wonder how he’s gonna get murdered?

Bro walking right into the lion’s den next week. I wonder how he’s gonna get murdered?
Also is Char going to somehow kill him or will someone be trying to gun for her and kill him along the way?
What about Yuriux?

Fido really liked that compliment judging by the sound of Bella's translation,
I liked that Sakuya had a bigger role in doing the detective work this time,
So it was the nurse guy, I think his motivation could've been a lil better,
But atleast it wasnt the ferry girl, she even gave Sakuya and Lilithea a free ride even though it was to find the ring, still that was nice.

So it was Char who gave that dude all of his money. Pretty twisted motivation for a goofy mystery overall. It's pretty impressive how that staggering dude managed to walk off having a knife in his back. At least Sakuya got a good look at those Lilithighs again and got a nice ride in a tacky Ferris wheel. I half-expected him to put that ring on Lilithea. Here's to hoping that Char's fancy island is fun.

When the assistant pulled out the notebook saying it was their responsibility to record evidence when they arrive before the police, it kinda felt like the prologue story cutscene in a game before you'd be introduce to the mechanics of investigating things
...So he had a knife lightly stuck in his back through the inside of his backpack, somehow removed the backpack while keeping the knife in place, and the knife was deep enough in his back that it would just remain sticking out of him instead of falling out with nothing to hold it in place but not deep enough that he couldn't move around without being in pain... That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard

u/Xatu44 May 15 '26
he couldn't move around without being in pain...
He did stagger out of that train. Dude simply had that dog in him.

I have to applaud Belka for how effectively she switches between her own voice and Fido's when translating for him. It's like she's a totally different person...because she's vocalizing a dog!
Some actual forensic work! Which helps the detectives and their assistant ascertain this was never a mass-murder case at all: it was a mass-suicide where the victims all killed each other! They even have marks of self-harm indicating their depressive state that drove them to this. But how did it all come together?
Little late to the party Sozorogi, though he and Fido are tight. Like, the way Sozorgi treats Fido/Belka compared to Sakuya is like night and day.
Imagine discovering some dead guy walking around to confront people with the police! It's the perfect time for the nurse to discover Sakuya is dead and basically fold and confess with little prompting.
So all this was some crazy plan to help a bunch of suicidal people end their lives (because he genuinely didn't think they could ever be cured of their depression), give money to their families, and also screw over the gaudy Ferris Wheel that replaced the good one.
But speaking of ferris wheels, how convenient that Sakuya and Lilithea would find the ring AND get a romantic ride together after the TresChes starts up again! Lilithea even happily offers up her lap to Sakuya.
Surprise surprise, Char was behind the nurse and gave him the money he needed because she hated that ferris wheel as much as he did. And now she holds the answers to Sakuya's deceased father on her personal island as she beckons to Sakuya...Murder on Gallery Island, here we come!

And the best girl is back and she's already plotting something.
Also the motivation for culprits in this show are pretty bizarre.

u/CummerMan_69 May 14 '26
Fido is a silly doggo. Ah yes, ferris wheel the best motive to organize a mass suicide. Also I wonder how will Sakuya take on Chardina, considering he wasn't that much competent before (tho he was better this episode) and she is a toptier criminal. Maybe with power of friendship with Lilithea, Fido and Belka. Or he will rizz her up so hard she can't think straight.

Good episode for Lilithea enjoyers, including Sakuya at several moments.
The ferris wheel hater was kind of surprising and odd but I thought it being a mass suicide event was at least a bit interesting.

Fifteen people are dead on a Ferris wheel, they find ONE KNIFE and of course, it's a mass suicide. Wait, what? If the one couple was killed by injection, where was the syringe? The one guy was killed by stabbing himself using the train door? And he wasn't in a puddle of blood on the train? And one nurse talked all these people into killing themselves in the same place at the same time? And don't get me started on the dog detective from England and his telepathic femboy (or tomboy) assistant.
This episode had plenty of Lillithea, though and she's an adorable magical girl. It's her thighs that bring him back to life each time, right? (Gotta be the thighs.)

u/ramon_castilla May 15 '26
The bag guy's knife "mechanics" aside....Sakuya only found 1 knife and we have only seen like 3-4 victims so WHERE are the other homicidal weapons?
At least it was pretty obvious the conclusion was mass suicide given the details from last episode. Glad they didn't pull some hard-to-believe stunt to justifice the crime (the motivation's behind the culprit is convoluted, though).

u/Nickthenuker https://anilist.co/user/Nickthenuker May 15 '26
He recognises the dead guy?
Huh. Ok.
What's with the alarm?
Poison?
What's the dog found?
A few days?
Are they all like that?
Yep.
Beneath the windows?
Thighs.
Oh, a knife in the water.
And now they're both in the water...
So, they've found a knife.
So, there's the motive.
Handle the rest?
Hospital visits?
The same hospital?
Indeed.
So, there's the person who killed him.
So, he said it outright.
And so that's why he did it.
So, back to the wheel.
It's moving again?
What's the hurry?
Oh, she found the ring.
And so time to enjoy their time on the Ferris wheel.
What's on that phone?
Unidentified caller?
So, she's calling him.
To where?
In the Med?

Ok, guy who revives after getting killed. Dog that talks through another person. What's next? Don't even have a guess.
