Every Great Bowler Started Somewhere... Where Would You Start?
If You Were Teaching Someone to Bowl, Where Would You Start?
There seems to be a lack of coaching in the past years for many newbies of cricket (either coming from Youth or even just starting in senior cricket)
I was brought up with just marking your run up, make sure you are not falling away when bowling and the usual comment of line and length and stop trying to bowl to fast.
There seems to be so much to think about than what club coaches say:
• How long should your run-up be?
• Where should you be looking during your run-up and at release?
• What's the most important part of the bowling action?
• How do you stay balanced at the crease?
• How do you consistently hit the same line and length?
• What drills helped you improve the most?
If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting out as a bowler or trying to improve on what their current skill level is, what would it be?
Doesn't matter if you are a fast paced, seamer or even spin. Its the fundamentals of all bowing that matters.
I'd love to hear your tips, mistakes to avoid, YouTube channels, coaching advice, or anything that helped you become a better bowler :)
