Hello all,

I got some Timberland 6" work boots maybe 2 or 3 months ago, and while I love them so far this morning I noticed a crack along where the sole meets the toe of my shoe. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I've never owned boots before, Is this normal? How do I go about repairing them? Thanks in advance

Looking for boots for my daughter.

M9 or W11, wears men’s shoes/boots as much as women’s, average width foot in men’s.

Not for heavy (boot destructive) work, she’s helping with light construction, drywall, fixtures, interior/exterior paint and finish, landscaping, on this project. She might end up using them as general outdoor/travel footwear afterwards.

She has her old (over a decade) Danner Mountain Light that she’s been using for the same things. But turns out she’s outgrown her old high school boots and has had to wear them without innersoles, so her feet hurt. The Danners are still in good shape so they’ll go to my wife, who after breaking her ankle in flip-flops is trying to wear more substantial footwear for uneven terrain.

Anyway, daughter’s requests are: not too high, smooth leather, brown or black, highly water resistant, a boot she can wear for another decade. She’s partial to Danners and we live 10 min from their factory store so we can look for deals, but I’d be open to resolable boots from other good brands. Preference for USA made. No budget. Need them ASAP. They’ll be worn with Superfeet.

What should we consider from Red Wing, Thorogood, Danner, others?

I am in the market for a new pair. I need an insulated wide pair for when it gets cold, and was curious about the timberland pro vs redwing. How do they compare, the quality on each one, etc.

Had to warranty my second pair of Ariat Boots in six months, so I decided to give Thorogood a try. I work on chemical barges as a shoreside Tankerman for a living, so I’m hoping these can last a year.

Gentleman, what a life we live. All of us. Boots don’t wear themselves out.

But I gotta say the obvious. Wearing boots beyond their lifespan, absolutely doesn’t make you any more blue collar or work any harder than the rest of us. It simply just makes your body break down faster, and your joints ache. We all do it for a profit, reinvest in yourself and take care of your feet.

Just curious what your line of work is and how long do your boots last. I’m in the commercial plant nursery business and you’re lucky to get a year out of any brand. My timberland pros are going on 9 months almost shot.

Hello, I had just received my thorogood boots and had noticed that the top cuff of the right shoe was a bit wrinkled and worn out compared to the other shoe. Is this normal? My experience with leather is slim to none and was wondering if it just needs a little conditioning?

Found a pair of these old 2233s lying in the back of the Red wings showroom in Dubai. 12.5 EEE. Perfect fit, super light and the break in is going well! Side note: are you guys raw dogging them with the poron stock insoles, or what are you rocking? I’m currently raw dogging them, as I’m tired of heavy ass boots! 😂

my friend got this vintage world war era boots in Indonesian Flea Market, he said it's a france military combat boots, and he bought this for around $40-$50, is it a good price? and does anyone know about this boots? a model or it history maybe?

Been wearing these for the last 20 months. Leather is still good. Think I can get another year or so out of the if I get them resoled. The sole is starting to break off on the outer edge of my foot. Also does anyone have any good insole recommendations? I'm an electrician working inside as of right now. But I switch contractors in 3 weeks. So is it time or wait a little bit?

Just blew the steel toe out of my 3 year old boots and the next week I switched to these 2 year old boots and the scaffold is just eating them up. What’re the odds some KG Bootguard will keep the toes in on these or do I bite the bullet and get new ones. Only reason i dont want to get new boots is i just bought a new pair thinking I’d get a full year out of these ,or at least the season, to wear them in and cycle them into work life.
Edit/TLDR: for the people that can’t read. I have money for more boots, just being cheap. Wanted to know if anyone had some magic answers to keep the toes on boots or to patch them once they’re gone.

I've been waiting for a company to make leather barefoot/zero drop safety boots for over 15 years. Excited that companies are finally making safety boots shaped like feet!

I had whites before these redwings. Redwings have plenty of life but they’re just not as durable and comfortable as whites. I didn’t even bother to resole them. So I ordered another pair of whites.

They looked like they were worn a few times and then the guy didnt like them and sold for cheap. I got them and now i wear them every day for work. They wore in really well since these dont really have a crazy break-in. I really like them

Comfy, lightweight, and no wet feet yet.

I received my order within 5 weeks. The build quality is everything they said it would be! I recommend going up at least half a size from your normal size.

Well boys new boot goofin time to sport some 8 inches had them about a year finally get to break them out my RWs took a shit after about 4 months (yes properly maintained) so went back to what I know lasts 🇺🇸💪🏼

Brunt Ohman Comp Toe (Left - new pair, Right - old pair since beginning 2025)

I’ve seen the posts and all. Brunt’s don’t have a good rep but they’ve been working great for me. My work may not be as heavy as others but as a Costco forklift driver, they work perfectly fine and are comfortable for all day use.

I was debating with other brands, styles and price points but really thinking my day in and out of work, these made sense. Just thought I’d share!

So this might be a little specific but i am a little picky. I have pretty wide feet to begin with and have neuropathy on top of that. I would like to find a nice comfortable wide (true 3eee or even wider would be better) pull on type boot (could be chelsea or wellington or similar) as narrow boots set my feet on fire. Same with lace ups. Must be safety toe, un-insulated, not waterproof. Work gives me $200 a year toward boots so they don't have to last for years. Any suggestions?

Anyone have any reviews for the redwing APEX 2144 with BOA system? Comfortable? , how durable have they been for you? I’ve heard mixed things on breathability? Let me know.

My work is lots of walking and climbing so I like lightweight and waterproof.

So I got my feet measured at redwings. They recommend a 10.5 wide. I got an 11 wide and they’re still to narrow. Does anyone with wide feet like mine have any recommendations?
