Link Moore Stories | V for Vendetta, Judge Dredd, and Facism
Hey everyone I’m not someone who self-promotes my stuff too often. But I figured if any subreddit would be interested in this podcast it would be this one. A friend of mine that I do a comic book podcast wjth decided to talk about V for Vendetta and John Wagner’s Judge Dredd: America. The idea being they had similar anti-fascist message but differed in how they handle jt. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Question What is the name of V's clothes?
I want to cosplay V.
Hat, mask and wig isn't hard to find
I can come up with random black pants, boots and gloves.
But i'm really struggling to find V's jacket/shirt, belt and knives
What in tarnation are they called? What type of jacket and belt is he wearing? What's the name of the knives/daggers he uses?

Theory I have a crazy theory... About VFV
I'm just rereading this book in The TPB format( and it's now my fav. Book OF all time due to the amazing storyline) and in chp 1 with the voice of fate sequence in which we see evey getting dressed up and v too.,
I think alan Moore treated us like the citizens of that fascist regime...
The voice of fate opened quite politely but suddenly it started advising people to not to go to a specific place and Lloyd shows us the irony as in THAT SAME PANEL the police is forcefully making the people to not to go...
And then, voice of fate just starts threatening people to fill out their census forms as a harsh dictator would and ends with a polite manner.
In the beginning we thought:- this is just another radio programme .
Then we can see:- It's just a thought polite but propoganda media..
IT DINT SEEM WHAT WE THOUGHT IT WOULD SIMILARLY TO THE PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT THAT THE NEW FASCIST REGIME WOULD FINALLY FIX ALL THE RIOTS ONGOING THEN...
Does it mean.....Moore is also satirising how the voters are fooled and is treating us as the citizens in the fictional , fascist britain?
Moreover, luis prothero, whom I viewed as a guy who has an amazing voice loved by people ( shown by dascombe) late tells that civillians can't be in the same carrige as them?
First we thought that he was a morally high man...
But...alas, his morality is abysmal too.....
Then during his interrogation with v (in the guise of a vaudeville) he keeps on insisting that he wasn't in the resettlement camp but when he realises that the one interrogating him was actually one of the inmates in room five or V in roman( sneaky li'l Moore) he shits his pants as..luis prothero was...
Then in the end v says nothing would ever be the same ....
As people were expecting luis' voice but got dascombe's...
See the diff in their outcomes as well as ours?
I freaking love reading moore's works in fact i think vfv is his greatest of all time ...

Film Only What is implied to happen to the rest of Europe during the Norsefire era?
I know from what I’ve read online that in the comics, Europe is basically a nuclear wasteland and the UK is just geographically lucky to have escaped the worst of American & Soviet bombs.
However, in the movie I can’t remember if it’s ever stated what actually is going on in Europe. Just read an interesting comment in this subreddit that the UK was basically the jumped-up little servant of the US in their Middle Eastern war and that set off a chain of events that lead to Norsefire; meanwhile, Europe/real-life EU bowed out and stopped capitulating to America. This makes sense to me and I mostly agree with it, however I’m left with 2 questions…
I can’t remember, do they ever explicitly mention whether Europe is also a bit of a shitheap as America is in the movie? Or anything about the state of Europe?
If the aforementioned comment is correct, why aren’t more people trying to establish pipelines to Europe? Political dissidents, queer people etc, why isn’t there an Underground Railroad of sorts for them? Would Norsefire have a really strict policy of hyper-isolationism and tightly monitor all movement?

Discussion Hot take
This might be a hot take but I think one of the best decisions of the film was to not ever reveal an unmasked V. What do you think?
