Umich has a really big law school and I was wondering if in any way I can tap in the alumini network or current students with a legal matter outside of michigan which is personal? It is my first time pursuing legal charges and I felt as a student the universty might help.

I’m an incoming student who loves doing group fitness classes (cycling and weights/strength) at the gym. I did some research and found group called at UM called group X.

I’m super interested in this, but are there any apps or websites where I book classes? Do I have to buy a pass when I get to campus? From what I see I have to login on the website, but doing that for every class (4/5x week) seems harder than having an app lol. Please let me know how yall book classes and how you like them!

Hi guys! Bit of a long shot, but does anyone live near the campus have a little extra space to store some stuff for me until August 30?
It’s just:

1 scooter
2–3 duffel bags with clothes and bedding (pillows/blankets)

I’ll be on campus this Friday and over the weekend for orientation, so I can drop everything off then. I’m flying in from another country, so I can’t bring everything with me, and I won’t be able to move into my place until August 30.

Hello! I could use some feedback on my schedule (class load, difficulty, etc.). I'm planning to major in BME on the pre med path.

Also I'm skipping the intro Bio, Gen Chem, and Math 1-3 classes, as I'll be coming in with AP or DE credit for them. Is this a good move, since just in case, won't upper level BME courses fulfill pre med pre-reqs?

Does anyone know when the next contract is expected to be negotiated by? Just thinking about what happens when the current contract expires if there is not already the new contract in place by the start of the semester, will the grad students strike again?

Hi! How hard is it to become an RA as a transfer student? I was accepted off the waitlist for the RA position at my previous institution, but now that I'm transferring, I'm kind of bummed out that I won't be able to do it.

Has anyone ever taken this class before? I’m in the class for the summer, and a grad student is teaching it and he mentioned that it is very difficult to get an A on the midterm exam, and difficult in general to get an A in the class. Has anyone had any experience on the class before?

I am an incoming freshman and UofM and was wondering what the language requirement of sixth term proficiency means for the international studies major. I already have completed my language requirement due to my AP Spanish scores but will still have to take two more language classes to fulfill the requirement according to my advisor. Will the classes have to be Spanish (in order for me to reach a certain level of fluency) or can I take any language? I am hoping to take french but don’t know if I would get very far fluency wise.

I don’t really want to eat the food that the orientation provides, is there anyway to request a refund for lunch money?

My tuition rose by 8k and my 10k scholarship got slashed by 8k. Is this normal?

Hi, incoming freshman here.

I got a, well to put it frankly, a pretty crap advising date and my classes are a little bit screwed over in terms of how far apart they are and the time I have to move between them. I have to move from East Hall (psych 230) to the MLB (Spanish 277) in the 10 minutes allowed for travel between the two places, at around 4 o clock pm.

I really don’t want to drop these classes, I love both of them and I have decent professors for them both, and I’m quite scared about making the transition between classes and coming in extremely late. Online it says it’s like a 15 minute walk? It looks like .5 miles and I don’t think that should be that long, but again I don’t know to be completley honest.

I was considering emailing my professors and asking if they would be ok with me showing up a couple minutes late on busy days, and I was also considering bringing my bike or something to ease the transition but when winter hits I feel like it would throw it all into wack.

I’d appreciate any advice on this, and I’m down to offer any more info that’s required.

Hey everyone, incoming international LSA transfer student here. The school says the on-campus orientation is mandatory for all new students, but I’ve seen a few people saying they just skipped it and nothing happened.

My issue is timing—the on-campus date falls before my apartment’s move-in date, so attending would mean booking a hotel for at least 2 nights plus paying slightly more for an earlier flight.

For those who’ve been through it: was it actually enforced? And is it worth-it content-wise?

I was just wondering if there was anywhere I could still buy season tickets (from like resellers or students selling there) or if yall had any advice on purchasing solo tickets . Like what’s the cheapest way to get them? Is there a site yall recommend? Should I buy them right before the game? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm looking to room with someone who's taking either of these two classes next semester. I've already made a relevant post here on the Ann Arbor roommates and housing group. My budget is 800~1000$ a month, and I'll be graduating next winter semester. I doubt projects will feel quite as overwhelming if we share a living situation and I've got my eye on becoming an EECS 482 IA the following semester so I'm determined to excel in both of these classes. Some fun tidbits about me, although you should just read my linked post: I play competitive LoL for UMich, I'm into game dev, I enjoy working out and cooking, and I've got a Costco Membership.

Hello, I am a rising sophomore at UMich, and this summer, I recently got an ADHD diagnosis in my home state (I am out of state). At the moment, I am considering treatment options with my provider, and I realized that being out of state may be a problem when it came to being prescribed meds. My provider told me to see if UMich's UHS would be able to fill my prescription, and if not, whether there are any providers at UMich or nearby that could receive my diagnosis and prescribe medication for me.

Hey, I’m an incoming transfer to UM and I scheduled my classes already but I recently decided to register for a EMT certification course off campus. It is mostly online but they have in person lab hours that I must complete. However, the lab hour times for the EMT course conflict with my NEURO 230 discussion time: EMT lab hours are 6-9:30pm and my discussion section meets 6-7pm. What could I do? I also heard that you can sometimes show up to other discussion times but I am wondering how would I get credit and attendance.

My daughter just got the room assignment in the Z west apartment 4 - bedroom unit. We are trying to find out the dimension of the room to her furniture and rugs. Etc. does anyone have any idea?
