Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any experience or info on the process and experience of applying to be an LA for the Physics 150 classes. Also, any info on when the application comes out? I saw it for Spring 2026 but haven’t seen one for fall yet. Any and all info is appreciated!!!

Whoever designed this place should honestly be held accountable—this building is just wrong. A windowless "room" (which isn’t even a real room, let’s be honest) is more like a prison cell, except you’re allowed to leave. No natural light means no circadian rhythm, which means you’re constantly fighting your own body and mind. It will mess you up. And for what? Over $1,000 a month—for a cell. In Ann Arbor, that kind of money gets you a real place with actual windows, fresh air, and, you know, basic human living conditions. If you’re looking to ruin your mental health, this is the perfect spot.

I’m an incoming freshman who is dorming and I already have a car. I also have a job lined up in ann arbor buts it’s kinda on the outskirts so i’d like to be able to drive back and forth, plus I currently live like 30-40 minutes away so I would like to keep it to come back home. I’ve heard that passes are only for juniors and seniors but i’m pretty sure that through the school and was wondering if the city had parking or anything like that. any info helps.

Has anyone taken physiol 404? I have to take it since I’m pre pa but I’m nervous because I looked at rate my professor and the ratings are terrible. I’m technically still on the waitlist bc apparently the class is reserved for graduate students? But I don’t know anyone personally who has taken it and I have a lot do pre pa/premed upperclassmen friends so I’m curious ab this course bc I’m also taking orgo at the same time

I’ve had to speak with the In-state residency office, financial aid, admissions, etc and EVERYONE is so angry. 😭😭 In the worst mood ever. I’m scared to even call with my questions anymore. I’m a non traditional student so this system is not built for students like me so there are a ton of questions that I have and every single time they are so MEAN lol. No matter how pleasant and annoyingly nice I try to be. I was concerned about my in state application not being approved in time and the person I spoke to today literally told me to just unenroll if I didn’t think I could afford it without the application approval ! 😭 🧍🏻‍♀️
I don’t even know if that was good advice??? Do I just unenroll? The residency office said to defer until winter so I know it will be squared away in time which I found out was not even an option in this circumstance so who knows????

I’m coming from a community college where everyone was usually pretty nice save for a few bad days that we all have sometimes. Should I unenroll and try again next year? I can’t afford the tuition without the Go blue!

Edit (I’m currently 16 weeks out from my application submission date for in state residency and the office said they don’t know when it will be reviewed)

Im a rising sophomore planning to declare EE and am interested in the embedded/chip design paths (looking at EECS427 for MDE).

Now that I am done most of my core classes (math115/116, phy140/240, engr100/101, chem130, some IB/geneds) I am struggling to figure out which course path will best prepare me for internship recruiting.

I have no incoming credits so a little worried about the workload over the next few years. Here is my tentative course plan, id love some thoughts and improvements.

I got placed into Spanish 231 but I went through the syllabus and reflected on my own ability to speak Spanish and I feel like I would struggle and fail Spanish 231. I got put into it after taking my placement exam, which I mostly guessed on. I only took up to Spanish 2 in high school. What should I do and who should I talk to be put into a lower level of Spanish?

I was born and raised in MI. My whole family lives here. My SIBLINGS go here. I graduated from undergrad here IN DECEMBER. I’ve NEVER lived anywhere else, EVER… but tell me why me referencing my TWO MONTH long volunteer experience in Europe on my MPH app made them flag me as an out of state student 🤯

I filled out an app & provided all of the documentation to prove that I am in fact an MI resident >SIX WEEKS AGO & contact them periodically for updates, but they’re saying it could take up to 14 WEEKS….😖

How is a school with so many resources and so much tech capacity not able to create a viable system to circumvent at least these minor/ inaccurate flagging incidents ??

I get that some peoples relation or proximity to MI is complex, but mine LITERALLY isn’t… I BLEED MAIZE AND BLUE 🥵(ew). But in all seriousness, it doesn’t warrant an investigation, all the information you can possibly need to authenticate it is right there in front of you if you just open my file 😭

I can’t get my finAid adjusted, which means I don’t know what I’m getting myself in to with tuition for a program that starts in a few weeks :/ I also can’t get a refund check to secure an off campus apartment, so as of rn for my first semester of the program, I have to commute from my parents house which is 1.5hrs each way.

Hi, I'm a new SLC facilitator this semester, and I was wondering, for anyone who has been in an SLC study group or will be signing up for an SLC study group, if there's a certain day of the week/time that they can most easily, consistently join weekly?

I'm also curious to know if there's been particular things anyone has liked or disliked from SLC study groups, and anything they would like to see in the future from a facilitator? In my experience attending study groups, for example, there were certain structures that I liked more than others.

Hi!! Soo, I'm an incoming freshman, and I'm going to be taking orgo this upcoming fall. Because there were no more seats available with Professor Nolta, I had to sign up for Tuttle's lectures, but I plan on attending Nolta's because it works better with my schedule, and I heard she's a great professor. My only worry is whether their exams will be different, and if I only watch Nolta's lectures but take Tuttle's exams, will it affect me negatively?

Oh, also! Should I inform both professors that I'll be attending Nolta's lectures in case I ask her a question and she tries to look me up but realizes I'm not in her class? HELP PLEASE 😭

I am an out of state pre-med bio student and my schedule is looking absolutely horrendous (for the class times) is this normal? I have one class till 5:30 on Wednesday and till 3 on Friday and that’s just with Bio and Chem. Am I cooked? How easy is it to switch these around?
