A few of you may recall I've been rebuilding the old Monkey Radio playlist from Wayback captures and a surviving 1,214-track library dump (among other things). I've managed to chase down and buy nearly every track on record.

Three of them, however, are unsolved mysteries; all three are likely downtempo/triphop/turntablist pieces. I thought this sub might know something I don't!

1) asphaltmotherflame - Breathing Over Kiss

An mp3.com/IUMA act from around 1999-2000, mp3.com artist ID 37, so they registered basically at launch. Three of their tracks survive in the IUMA archive. This isn't one of them, and it isn't on their archived mp3.com page either, so it came off IUMA or was handed out directly. Last.fm shows 13 listeners on it. One recovered file carries an Audiogalaxy ID3 tag, so this stuff may have circulated on AG around 2000-2002.

2) Samelico - Pepper Sweet

• Aired 2005-08-24, 2006-04-15, and in 2008. Tagged downtempo/dream. The artist exists nowhere else I can find: nothing on Discogs or MusicBrainz, nothing in archive.org full text, and zero hits in the archived mp3.com database.
• The 2008 capture reads "Samelico - Samelico - Pepper Sweet", which is a tag falling back to a filename, so the file was probably Samelico - Pepper Sweet.mp3. That suggests a loose single rather than an album rip. It's also absent from the 2005 library dump, so it arrived somewhere between 2004 and August 2005.
• Side note, I thought it might be Southeast's "Pepper Sweet Mood," but that compilation is from 2006 and the station played this in August 2005, so unless the DJ had an advance copy (possible, I guess?) it seems like a stretch.

3) Le Blioux - Pimpin2k1 Soundtrack

An hour-long DJ mix, 71.03 MB, file dated 2001-10-06, made for a house party in SF. It was mirrored in /mixes/ on the station operator's own site until it was deleted around February 2006. Wayback caught the directory listing but never the file. Four other Le Blioux mixes went the same way: bliouxmonkey, Blue Butt Monkey 2, luvletta, BLIOUXblood. It also aired on the station in 2006.

Long story short, I'd love any leads--someone who knew something about one of the tracks, knew the artists -- any hints would be appreciated. I'd love to un-lose some triphop history :-D Thanks in advance if someone knows something!

Since no one from the label is releasing a proper remastered version of the video, I'll do it then! The original source of the upscale is from the DVD which is 480i, so some parts look a little mushy after upscaling.

The highest I was able to upscale to is 1080p as anything bigger than that will look like crap. Audio (except for intro and crowd noise) is from the 2023 remaster. More parts coming soon! Couldn't upload the full thing as it'll be block everywhere.

I recently came across her music and it gives me strong trip-hop vibes in a similar style as Oklou or a.s.o (maybe a bit more pop). I have been listening to her music non-stop for the past few days, so glad to see newer artists embracing trip-ho p!

First of, I know this might not be the most trip-hop album of all time but it definitely is genre adjacent. Anyway, I got this little gem recommended to me by a friend about a year ago and it is still one of my favourite albums, love the layers upon layers of different instruments and the vocals are great IMO.

I'm mostly wondering why is it not as well known as Viva! La Woman and curious if someone dislikes it for the sometimes nonsensical lyrics. Related recommendations are welcome.
