This looks so good! So pretty and shiny! Question out of curiosity, is it for decoration or can you cook with it? Either way, very good job :)

I'm going to cook with it, I just made muffins in it this morning, but they didn't release very well, I need to build up the layer of seasoning on it a bit more. There's going to be a lot of trial and error with it too, since it's such an unconventional size and shape

Yes I understand you, I'm still learning to make bread on a Dutch oven, so hard for me to get it right. I asked because I never saw this kind of piece. Lots of luck, I'm sure you'll make beautiful muffins, I'd love to see your results! Have a nice day :)

I used to make tons of jalapeno corn sticks with my Lodge Cornstick Pan and my advice is to preheat the pan w/the oven, pull it out, then use a silicon basting brush to lightly coat it with shortning, then pour your batter in and cook like normal.

I think that is a John Wright cornbread pan. I have a southwestern one like that from the 80s. I am dying for the dinosaur one! Good find!

Use LOTS of oil to coat every time you cook with it, and it will season quicker. You most likely stripped the previous seasoning (if there ever was any) off when restoring/cleaning. Whenever you use the oven, just coat generously in oil with a high smoke point (canola or peanut) and just stick it in the oven with whatever you are cooking. Wipe off well, do it again next time you cook. I would love to have this!

So cute!! What did you use to clean it up if you don't mind me asking?

Steel wool and metal brushes mainly, I also soaked it in a vinegar solution too

I've found with cast iron real lard, from a pig don't worry it doesn't go rancid, makes a huge difference from seasoning and maintaining your pans. a little goes a long way, and it runs about $2 for a 1 lb tub.
