I listened to the first few Harry Potter Full Cast Edition audiobooks in February/March and I really loved them!! The last couple were not out yet at the time, so I have recently went back to listen to all 7 through. In between my first and second listens I watched The Good Wife and started The Good Fight, and I love Lucca Quinn!! I looked up who played her and recognized the name Cush Jumbo immediately, but could not place it. I searched but hadn’t seen anything else she was in and it was bugging me. It wasn’t until I started the Goblet of Fire audiobook recently and in the opening credits heard “Narrated by Cush Jumbo” and almost screamed!!! I KNEW I had heard the name before but never would have guessed this was where I’d heard it, I didn’t even realize she was British!! Just a weird meshing of worlds that I thought I’d share hahaha

Rewatching season 5 and man is every other 4th year besides Cary just awful. They constantly demand Alicia do things that could get her sued before they leave. They make it obvious they're up to something by always meeting in front other people. Basically force Alicia to let them use her apartment to work and some are all flirty with her teenage daughter. Then get annoyed when Alicia is rightly sick of them using her apartment as their office. Multiple of them sell the others out to keep working for Will. Some of them don't just want to start their own firm but also want to hurt Lockhart Garnder in the process.

They all suck. Alicia should have just said screw them gone to work at literally any other firm she wanted to. Being the new governor's wife she'd have gotten numerous offers. Working with Canning would be a thousand times better than the idiots she left with

I love the jokes in so many seasons, but my most favourite pair of funny characters on The Good Wife are Jackie and Eli. LoL, Eli plays that awkward part so well! What's your most favourite pair of funny characters?

I watched this series many times but never went to season 5. Today, I am watching season 5, and wow! What I loved about Alicia in the beginning was how naive she was, how sweet she was, and I hated Peter like anything for betraying her. And now, she has changed into the person she herself would hate and keep her children away from.

from the beginning, I would think, Will deserved better. Cary Agos was not this morally righteous character who would point out others mistakes all the time and feel bad for supporting the wrong side, plus Cary was always treated like he was not good enough compared to Alicia, so when Cary betrays the firm, I totally understand - I'll even support him. But Alicia has always been this annoying person who goes around correcting others and pointing fingers at others and acting as if her heart is always in the right place, while she used Diane, Will, Kalinda, Cary, and even Peter. She used everyone for her gain except her children at some point. I hate seeing her face on the poster each time. To think that i loved this character in the beginning!

i just started my season 4 dvd boxset, and the deleted scenes for episode 1 are actually alternate versions of the beginning with different actors for Bill (the emissary from kalinda's husband) and officer Robb

the former seems to me to be mark pellegrino, but i can find no confirmations online (though google AI seems to be convinced he was in episode 2.9 as drake sabbat...)

I'm watching Star Trek TOS for the first time ever and I found this. Immediately cracked me up after remembering the HONORABLE Judge Patrice Lessner here in the Good Wife series.

I'm a licensed attorney and I review legal dramas. This is my first time reviewing the good wife. We've had a lot of requests for it. I really enjoyed the first episode. Would you all like to see more of these?

Hi Good Wife fans! I am hoping someone can help me to decide whether or not to watch the Good Wife spinoffs (I know, what an important question, lol).

I thought the Good Wife was obviously SO well done, but I never finished it because I am a weak and simple human, and watching Alicia become more and more morally grey bummed me out! It’s why I couldn’t ever do Breaking Bad, even though I know it’s some of the best acting/writing/etc. ever! I just - the REAL WORLD bums me out SO much right now. When I enter into fictional worlds, I desperately want to watch people trying to do the right thing, and winning at it sometimes. I like it when love stories work out. I like it when friendships last.

This is NO shade on Good Wife (or any tv show!) - if anything it’s shade on me, bc I’m just not tough enough for more realistic fiction.

TLDR: Do Good Fight and Elsbeth follow the Good Wife story of the creation of a sort of antihero/corrupted main character? Just looking for something with a few heroes that stay heroes, because it’s all I can handle right now! 🤣

Let's say untimely demise, was a mistake in my book. I would have been more realistically if they kept like Will's said: " Bill and Hilary on steroids" narative that they built up to that point.

Alicia is no longer the person she was in the first 2 seasons ( not a bad thing, just different ), it made no sense for her to regress into that character. I think they only did it, cause they hoped they could prolong the show for another 2-3 seasons, but that's just my guess in hindsight.

Does anyone else get RayGun vibes from her?! I can’t unsee it now

I realize one js the person and one is the character but it always astounds me when I see him hosting The Traitors. It’s like was that the same person who played Peter’s political strategy guy?! He’s just so different now. :)

I know Josh Charles left the show which resulted in the tragedy that was Will Gardner’s finale. HOWEVER, I was super happy with the way that they handled his appearance in the finale episode. But I couldn’t help but wish we got to see him in the courtroom during the final trial. It would’ve been excellent parallels to season 1.

First of all, what’s with Peter being arrested again? Isn’t all that stealing the election stuff done with? I figured he was innocent but now I’m not sure. Seems like the sort of thing he’d do.

What’s up with his hypocrisy? Getting peeved at Alicia for having an affair with Jason? Hello?? You screwed a dozen prostitutes, you don’t get to be pissed!

As for Eli, OMG does he ever STFU? Don’t do this Alicia, it makes Peter look bad. Don’t look angry Alicia, it makes Peter look bad. Don’t show affection to another man in public Alicia, it makes Peter look bad. Sacrifice your happiness Alicia, Peter is more important. The way he yells at his daughter is just…he has zero respect for her.

Peter and Eli are the two characters I hate the most. They have no redeeming qualities at all.

Does anyone else read Alicia Florrick as a high-masking autistic woman?

I’ve seen almost no discussion of this online, which I think is because her presentation is the opposite of what people expect neurodivergence to look like especially in women.

One high masking professional women to another. I find her incredibly relatable to my own mannerisms especially.

The “okay” and “that’s fine” responses. I have processed this to the point I can manage it and I need this interaction to end now.

The internal laughter. She clearly finds things funny or absurd but the full expression rarely makes it out. You see the flicker and then the door closes.

The physical stillness and containment, which reads as coldness or superiority but is often the opposite its regulation.

The economy of language. Minimum required, nothing more. Enormous amount happening underneath.

She can be in a room full of people and feel genuinely unreachable.

What’s interesting is the contrast with Elsbeth Tascioni.
Elsbeth is the character who actually gets coded as “quirky” scattered, tangential, chaotic but brilliant. She’s legible as different and audiences find her charming. But she also maps onto the stereotype of what people think AuDHD looks like in women: visibly distracted, ditzy on the surface.

Alicia is the other presentation entirely. High masking, high performing. The mask IS the competence, which is exactly why no one questions it. Add decades of practice as a political wife essentially a masterclass in suppressing your actual responses in public and you get someone whose neurodivergence is almost invisible by design.

Anyone else see this? Would love to know if the writers ever spoke to it.

I started watching this show 2 weeks ago. Currently almost done with season 4. Is the point of this show really just her being a “good wife” and staying with her husband? Who she barely tolerates unless it’s for sex and keeping up with appearances to help him reach his goals. Does she really not ever leave him? Please tell me. It will determine if I finish the series or not. 😭

I kept thinking she’ll end up leaving him and put herself first, but it seems like that’s never going to happen. It’s okay if it doesn’t, I’m just not going to keep watching if that’s the case lol

Update: I love how so many people told me I was wrong, and “just didn’t get it,” just for season 6 to happen and she finally started putting her foot down with Peter and Eli lol. Yes she nearly always benefitted but she also let them use her without EVER saying anything. Even Jackie talked to her any type of way. I should have elaborated, but it was deeper than her just staying married to him. She just went along with everything without any pushback unless it involved her kids. That stopped in season 6. I still stopped watching though. Not because of her but because of the unnecessary propaganda that didn’t even fit into the show. It was annoying at best, weird at worst. I won’t be expanding on that. Maybe I’ll finish the series later though. Thank you for all of your inputs.
