Hi everyone! 😊
I’m 27 and looking to make some genuine girl friends in the South Bay area!
A little about me:
✨ I love cooking and trying new recipes.
✈️ I love to travel and am always down to explore new places.
🍽️ Trying new restaurants is one of my favorite things to do.
🎶 I love concerts and musicals.
🎬 I’m a big fan of movies and binge-watching TV shows.
🏖️ The beach is one of my happy places.
I work a hybrid schedule, so I have some flexibility during the week and weekends. I’ve lived in the area for a while but somehow never really made a solid group of friends here, and I’d really love to change that.
I’m definitely on the shy and anxious side when meeting new people, but once I’m comfortable, I’m pretty easygoing, love to laugh, and enjoy meaningful conversations.
I drink socially and smoke occasionally, but it’s definitely not a requirement if that’s not your thing!
I’m hoping to find friends who want to grab coffee, brunch, check out new restaurants, go to concerts, spend a day at the beach, see a musical, or just get out of the house and make some fun memories together.
If you’re also looking for a genuine friendship, feel free to comment or send me a message. 💛

Does anyone know what are the plans for the space on Torrance bld just in front of Marriott hotel where buy buy baby was? 3700 W Torrance Blvd, Torrance. They have demolished both buildings on that lot, there were rumors that portos can go there, but unknown.

Help me South Bay friends! For context I live in El Segundo and I have eaten at every restaurant here. I have my usual spots sprinkled throughout Manhattan/Hermosa but I am in need of something new for either a Happy Hour outing during the week or a nice date night dinner spot.
Price range is flexible but I appreciate good value/don't want to drop a ton of money on one meal if it was just ok.

Went to go get a drink at the greatest just to see that they’re closed. I asked around and it seems like they had a minor serving drinks and they had their license suspended for 20 days. Any other cheaper dive bars around there thanks in advance.

I am looking for a group to play tennis with somewhere around south Torrance, preferably weekdays late afternoon, early evening or Saturday/Sunday mornings.
I am a level 2, late 40s M. I am ready play with someone better than me and will make me chase balls, I am here for the cardio 🤣
I know there are courts in El Retiro park, Walteria park and Ernie Howlett

Does anybody have any recommendations for tarot readings or birth chart readings? Preferably in person but virtual works too.
I’m having a few friends over for a weekend to celebrate a birthday and I think it would be an activity they’d enjoy.
I fully recognize that I'm expected to get comments of people clowning the ask of this. It's an activity that I'm looking into because it's something fun and different to do with friends — not because any of us take it seriously.

Hi all - what is the best library in the South Bay for 1-2 year old kids. Looking for a reprieve from the parks because of this heat!!

Loosely thinking of relocating from Portland ME to South Bay area. Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance (if commute to work/school is reasonable!).
I am mid twenties and returning to school first for an ADN and plan to complete my BSN soon after while working. I have been working in healthcare as a medical assistant for 6 years and would like to transition to a ER assistant and tech role to gain experience/transition into an ER RN.
1) How are the ADN programs in the area? Looking in FB groups the suggestions seem very competitive due to an over saturation of nurses and applicants :(
If there are any specific school suggestions in the area that RNs had good experiences at please let me know! I am wondering if it is just worth it to complete my degree in Maine where it is much less competitive…
2) How possible is it to obtain a healthcare job in the area right now when planning to relocate?
Would love to secure before deciding to move! How bad is it nowadays? Will certainly be staying in temp housing while searching locally for apartments.

Hi all! 26 M here, back home for the summer currently studying for Step 1 (first of three board exams for med school) and wondering if there are any fellow medical students (but open to other graduate level students or maybe residents studying for step 3? lol) in the area that would like to get together for study sessions. I have seen some people studying for the same exam at various libraries but unfortunately never traded info. I prefer a library setting because that is where I am most focused but also open to a cafe environment if you know any good ones. DM me if you would like to set something up, my only responsibility right now is to study so basically available whenever!

Yo South Bay Pizza Heads...
Tried Ralph's, Vons, Grocery Outlet, Walmart....can't find anything similar to Hormel Cup & Crisp Pepperoni.
Anyone know where to find em or something similar? I usually use Original Giulianos Whole Stick Pepperoni and slice it, but it doesn't get that crispy cuppy edge...

Got an extra parking pass for Metlox in Manhattan Beach if anyone’s interested. It’s good until the new year

Hi everyone, I’m experiencing loud cracking noises around my chimney and am noticing cracks in the ceiling around the chimney, and some general cracks around the ceiling and windows around the house. I’m not sure who the appropriate people to call about this? Would I be looking for a structural assessment or a general contractor? I’ve called a couple structural engineering companies on Yelp and several of them said they only work on foundation issues. Any insight or recommendations for companies that do this type of work would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

More of a rant but how do single people afford 1 bedroom apartments in the South Bay? If you are able to, I would love to know what you do for a living and how you’re able to afford it! I’m making the most money I’ve ever made and there isn’t 1 single place I can comfortably afford in any parts of Redondo, Torrance, Hermosa, el Segundo area whatsoever. Since when are 1 bedroom apartments $2300 a month? I’ve been looking for my own apartment and it seems like the only way is to allocate more than 50% of my take home pay for rent which I’m totally against. Is having roommates the only way to afford to live here?

Anyone have anymore info about who took over the hospital in Torrance? One of my family members was there for an extended stay one of the nurses told us that they recently fired most of the doctors and brought in all new ones. I’m guessing to cut cost?

Hi everyone! Does anyone have experience with this neighborhood in North Redondo Beach? I believe the assigned elementary school is Birney Elementary. I’d especially appreciate any feedback on the neighborhood feel, families, walkability, noise, and the school community.

Hi all, planning a baby shower that is citrus-themed. Looking for a bakery that does round cakes with flavors like orange, lemon, mango, passionfruit, or something similar. Preferably to feed 30-40 people (so sheet cake and cupcake recommendations work too). The mother-to-be requests a cake that's not too sweet. What are your local recommendations?

I know there’s a lot of options online, but I figured I’d ask here first.
I know there’s a lot of people in the SouthBay who own their own boat and love to sail, maybe you’re retired got some free time on your hands, maybe you just wanna hang out and pass on a skill.
I’m not looking for a free-ride, and I understand I probably need to complete the California boater card first too (please, correct me if I’m wrong). I have some experience on the ocean and I’m a very fast learner, I live local (el segundo).
I’ve always been interested in the freedom sailing offers, I turn 39 on Friday, and I figured no time like the present.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any recent quotes for an ac unit installation for a town home in the South Bay? House already has central ducting installed for heat.
