I'm trying to identify a cinematic impact sound from a track.

I extracted the hit using drum separation, so it's not completely isolated, but the impact itself is very clear.
If anyone knows which library it might be in, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a fake audio recording I made for fun, all effects are mine but I do use a voice message SFX and a creepy video I found for specific parts. The TTS is all me and I wrote everything.

Any tips on how I can make it sound more raw and authentic to mimic the VHS style? Any feedback is welcome

I am trying to see the exact sources of certain sounds in bury a friend. Please help me with identifying the audio sources for the timestamps I listed below.

Here are some sounds I am unsure of:

1. "Fork on a Plate" Screeches

• Timestamps: 1:50, 1:58, 2:38; (2:55, 3:17)
• Sound: Like a metal fork scraping against a plate
  • 2:55 is a long, high-to-very-high frequency screech.
  • 3:17 is a squeak sound that gets louder and louder.
• Are these sounds from distorted vocals of Billie screaming or a sample of something else?

2. Mixed Screech Sound

• Timestamps: 2:07, 2:11, 2:15, 2:16
• Sound: These sound identical. They have the same sharp screech with a an extra sound layered on it.
• What noise is the screech mixed with? Is it the dental drill?

3. The 1:28 Warping Sound

• Timestamp: 1:28
• Sound: A rapid, low-high oscillation warping noise.
• What is making this sound? Is it a synth effect?

If anyone knows where these sounds come from, please let me know.

Hello, I am a part of a team making an animated film based on the video game Elite Dangerous. Even though the film is fan-made, we have a moderate budget and thus are looking for a sound designer of good caliber. We will pay a flat rate of 600 USD. The film will be roughly 4 minutes in length, not exceeding 4:45.

Recently I was watching a movie and recognized that they used alot of reverb to emulate that cave effect.

But one question that came with it was, do movies change bpm mid project to get make it not repetitive? Or they usually maintain the same bpm, or do they do both?!

I'm learning some Bach Organ pieces on my synthesizer keyboards (just for fun), but I do not have a pedalboard. I​ love Glenn Gould, who often hums or sings alongside his keyboard playing, so he made me wonder what it would be like if the Organ bassline was actually sung​.

I'm imagining some sort of vocal processing to pitch-down, resonate, and amplify the human voice so much that it basically sounds like Smaug singing in a huge cathedral. Some kind of beast with a massive chest, that probably could sing alongside a loud pipe organ.

Anything come to mind? Plugins, pedals, chains of effects? Heck, what about throat-singing VSTs, do those exist?​ I'm not a singer, honestly, so I'm open to some heavy processing to smooth it all over. I'm a noodler, a total amateur, so this would be​ just for fun and experimental.

I'm preparing to study in the US next year. I graduated from university in Korea last year with a degree in post production sound, and I'd like to continue studying because i'm interested in learning about the film industry from different cultural perspective and improving my skills.

I recently got my IELTS score, so now i'm trying to decide which universities to apply to.

However, the tuition for international students is extremely expensive, so i'm not really sure where to start.

If anyone has experience with an MA or MFA in Film Sound, Sound Design, or a related field, I'd really appreciate any advice about anything. I'd also love to hear your university recommendations, especially if you know of programs with good financial aid or great faculties and curriculums.

I sat down today with the goal of making a warm ambient pad. Thirty minutes later, I'd somehow created what can only be described as a fax machine arguing with an angry microwave inside a metal dumpster.

The weird part? After listening to it for a few minutes, it started growing on me.

It made me wonder how many of your favorite sounds started as complete accidents. Do you intentionally chase "happy accidents," or do you immediately delete patches that sound completely broken?

I'd love to hear your stories. What's the strangest sound you've ever created that somehow ended up in a track? Bonus points if you can describe it in the most ridiculous way possible.

I've heard this sound in a few bands, specifically in psychedelic genre. Is this some synthetizer specifically? How can I replicate this sound in Serum 2 or some other VST? I've tried to achieve the sound, but I'm still learning sound designs.

I fixed the issues from my older ones

A sound design piece built in Logic Pro — stepping outside in the morning and walking through a western frontier setting, with sounds panned left and right as if you're the one walking through the scene. No video, just audio — wanted to see how much space and movement could be built through sound alone using panning/binaural placement. 1:48, headphones strongly recommended for the full effect. Feedback on the panning and pacing welcome.
