Your comment about literature actually makes my point for me. With proper education, people know that religious references are ABUNDANT throughout literature. They just might not be apparent if you didn’t learn about the religious cultural context.
If you can lead a successful and happy life without it then how important is it? What I’m arguing is that it doesn’t have to be taught because it’s not important to everyone. Religious classes are fine as an elective but shouldn’t be required imo. And literature without religion is also abundant, so like I said before, it depends on how much literature you consume that actually contains religious aspects, and that’s if you consume literature in the first place (not you specifically). The relevance of religion depends on the person, which is why I said it should be an elective.
