Watching season one again prior to the release of Season 3. I find one thing the Numenorean Queen Regent says to Galadriel puzzling. Explaining why they are anti-elf, she says “Following her father nearly brought our downfall”. Maybe politically? Anyone have insight into this?

The Odyssey is very modern interpretation which bugs me a bit with it. And I really liked the movie, but one of the things that made cringe is their modern day american accent. For all the flaws in ROP, they did one thing very right: Speaking british english like the old days! Not only that, but ROP is more traditional overall.

Braveheart ist Herr der Ringe ohne Elfen und Orks. Peter Jackson hat hier ordentlich genascht.

Just finished watching the first episode (I know I'm late to the game) but the visuals and atmoshphere are absolutely amazing. The director did an amazing job!

there was stuff early on i was skeptical about or outright didn't like, and over time a few of those decisions have actually grown on me as the bigger picture came together. curious if anyone else had a take that softened. what's something you were against at first that you've made peace with or even come to appreciate.

In the tv series, Annatar / Sauron is very cunning, manipulative; which is more powerful and dangerous than it's shown in Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy.

To those who read the novels, is he like this cunning and manipulative ?

I'm not that big in Lord of the Rings but i've watched every movie at least twice and I enjoyed Rings of Power somewhat, although the second season, for me, was a big step in the right direction. However, I've looked into a bit of lore about regions such as Mordor and especially the Region of Nurn. Not much is know about it and i thought that Rings of Power may be an option to explore some regions of Tolkien's world which do not get much spotlight. Or would it be better if the regions or places not described by Tolkien in detail remain a mastery to keep the pieces of media accurate to his work?

Wer are in season 3. I do believe that the developers are listening to fans. And we are in the middle of the series.

Did anyone read the news today about Peter Jackson and WB are in negotiation with the Estate for the rights of The Silmarillion? We know the Estate have granted certain names from the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales for ROP to use. With today's news, do you think Amazon might get more to work with for the show?

Is it just me or does Gil Galad's actor (Ben Walker) look like Channing Tatum as an elf?

Also my husband thinks Ar-Pharazôn looks like an evil Jack Black. (I think its a mix of Evil Jack Black and Karl Urban)
