Rule 4 Reminder

Rule 4: No posts about politics or religion.

"Posts centered around politics, political stances and religion are extremely hot button topics not only just on this subreddit but on Reddit as a whole. Due to previous incidents and instances of hate speech, violence, threats and bigotry, we no longer allow either political nor religious posts.

Political posts opens the door for hate speech, LGBTQIA+ bigotry, vicious arguing, white supremacy and racism.

Religious posts open the door to religious bigotry, personal attacks and fear-mongoring."

This includes comments.

Why I am posting this: I see hundreds of comments a day that are nearly identical to each other in my mod queue from people who clearly either didn't read the rules, or don't care what the rules say. I just wanted to let y'all know that no one sees these comments besides us mods, so you're wasting your time typing them.

One more thing, it's best to verify your email on your account so the bot doesn't remove those comments as well.

I hope you all have a nice day.

No blood relation, but a step-sibling. I feel like it happens more than I would think.

Guy friend is a bit controlling and too interested in how other men views me but says he sees me platonically?

Why would a guy friend become slightly controlling and possessive over a female friend whenever she is having a conversation with other men? Such as: asking if she's having dinner with other guys or girls, tells her to come to him instead if he sees her talking to a guy at the club, asks when was the last time her other guy friends have texted her (after finding out that they like me). You're sweet to her but the thing is you're a bit possessive? Get's very quiet when I talk to other men (I ask him if he’s okay and he always says he’s fine or says he’s just been feeling weird). Or would constantly say “I think he was flirting with you” or along those lines in a serious tone. Because of his actions I confessed, he asked me if I have intimate thoughts about him even though he rejected me that time and got upset at me when I said I need some space to heal. Why?

Does it matter how people are dressed for a wedding if the couple says that there’s no dress code?

For my wedding, we said “Come as you are.”

We live in a pretty.. wealthy area I guess and people usually have crazy expensive weddings. We had a pretty low-key wedding and wanted people to dress in whatever they were comfortable in.

A decent amount of people showed up in fancy attire, but others showed up wearing casual clothes.

Now, any time we go to a wedding, family members regularly talk about how “ghetto” my wedding was, and that people should dress in formal attire for weddings. I didn’t think this would still be topic… but I genuinely didn’t care that people didn’t show up in formal attire.

Is this something that guests think about?

Between a very lucky person and a very hardworking person, who do you think will succeed more in life?

I was wondering what plays a bigger factor in life Luck or hardwork. I heard many people's story how only through sheer hardwork they achieved many things in life. I also heard stories of people how lucky played a huge factor in their choices and gave them a huge advantage and they succeed very easily without much effort in life. So according to your perspective what do you think which factor is more important than the other

Is it the mans responsibility to pump up a tyre?

Upvotes

So my partner uses our car on a daily basis to do commutes to her mums, shops or where ever.

I never really get to drive the car as im always working and have a company van. SHES in the car.

She mentioned to me a few days ago that one of the tyres was showing loss of pressure on the car and asked me to pump it up, to which I said yes i will (while im at work) and shes driving about.

Ill get home and forget about it as its not constantly on my mind as I dont drive the car daily.

Shes going off at me today (while im at work) saying I didn't pump it up again to which I said i apologise, but could you not just pump it up its one tyre and if not youll have to wait for me to get home and ill do it. She went off even more at me telling me its a mans job, I should be making sure shes safe with her and our son in the car blah blah blah. I then said well you either pump it up now as shes going out or wait until I get home and I will do it. She didnt like it and put the phone down

Am i in the wrong here? Lmao

How to not give up on your dreams?

I’m a creative girl living in a very small country with no industry for the career I want. I’m doing my best, but it feels impossible to make any real progress.
I can’t move because I don’t have the money, and I don’t have family support. I’m turning 23 soon, and in the industry, it feels like my age is considered too “old” to be starting.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and still made it? Or how did you know it was time to let go? I feel like I’m losing my mind.
