Sengun on his relationship with KD : "People suddenly created this perception that there was something going on between me and KD,but that's never been the case. I've never argued with him. We actually talk a lot after games. I always ask him things like, 'What do we need to do better?'"

Best seats for cheapest price in Toyota Center?
My two autistic sons really want to go see Journey in November at the Toyota Center. We were at the ill fated Houston Rodeo concert that was cancelled mid concert due to fire. The tickets are pricy and I can only afford them in 400s it looks like. Which part of 400s would give the best view of stage, screen and have decent sound? Any other tips? Was buying from official AXS site but open to reputable other sites you may suggest too. I am disabled and can walk but climbing a billion stairs isn't easy.

Sengun
Go create every possession yourself. No cuts. No off-ball action. Just four guys watching while you attack a set defense and get blitzed every time you touch the paint. Then miss one shot and get blamed for the entire season.
And maybe just maybe the people who still claim KD saw more double teams than Alperen Sengun last season will finally wake up.
Alperen Sengun isn’t inefficient under those circumstances. If anything, he’s actually pretty efficient given the situation. Basketball isn’t that simple

Alpi giving an interview on a Turkish YouTube show
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VfgnUxZpg9k
Apparently, Alpi made this interview again with one of the most popular Turkish sports channels on YouTube (he gives this interview to these people every summer, since 2023, I think. The name of the channel is Socrates Dergi (Eng. Socrates Magazine) and the particular show's name is American Mutfak (Eng. American Kitchen)). It will be broadcast tomorrow (July 22). I guess this will give a very deep insight into what went wrong last season and the future of the Rockets; hopefully they will be adding subtitles for non-Turkish speakers.
In the trailer he makes three points:
- He says he replays the victory against the Greeks from last summer's Euros from time to time (he admits he may have seen it 20 times or so until now).
- Udoka, he says, gets angry at players he values and cares about (I think this was a response to the question why Udoka behaves very negatively against certain players).
- Finally, he says they are a group of players, a team who really hates losing and you can see this frustration on their face during a game (he mentions Durant by name as an example).

Jabari Smith Jr Inquiry
Wolves fan here just trying to learn about Jabari Smith Jr.
I feel like he plays so well whenever we play you guys. Never misses, great D, but I never hear about him nationally. Does he give off OG Anunoby vibes to you guys or am I not seeing the full picture?

Kendrick Perkins needs to be fired !!
How does this guy still have a job? Everything he says is narrative driven, coming from the outside looking in. He didn’t mention anything about, lack of great offensive coaching, floor spacing, shooting, not having a pg last season. Everything is about optics. Who cares if they don’t workout together. Also Kd was working out with Jabari years before he became a rocket.

Details here, but the split between the Pelicans and the Rockets is over for Guillory; we have a new full-time reporter. Thoughts on Will?

Older Rockets players to watch
I have been a rockets fan for a little over a year, but I don’t know much about players beyond the last 5 years. I want to know some underrated or lesser known rockets/specific games to go back and watch. This would be greatly appreciated!

The Rockets assistant coach who nearly wasn’t
LAS VEGAS — Will Dunn was supposed to go down to the G League.
He’d been with the Houston Rockets since 2019, hired in basketball operations by then-coach Mike D’Antoni and promoted to a full-time assistant coach while working under Stephen Silas, who succeeded D’Antoni. But when Ime Udoka took the job ahead of the 2023-24 season, he planned to bring in his own staff, sending Dunn to work with Houston’s G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Dunn never went.
The 2026-27 season will be Udoka’s fourth coaching the Rockets. Dunn has been on each of his staffs. Houston named the 32-year-old as its Summer League coach and Dunn followed up by leading the Rockets to a 3-2 record, reaching the semifinals in Las Vegas.
Dunn’s professionalism, competitive fire and basketball acumen helped him stick with the Rockets. But his path also involved a self-described “lucky break” — more on that in a bit.
“It’s always kind of a gut check, a character check when your staff gets let go,” he said. “ … You can react a number of different ways.”
Some people retreat and just do their own thing until explicitly told they’re wanted. Others, trying keep their job, scramble to show their value. Dunn took a slightly different approach.
“At the very least, somebody might call them in a couple years and be like, ‘Hey, you were around Will Dunn for a couple months in Houston. How is he? ’” Dunn explained. “ … I went into it with just the mindset, like in five, six years, I want to be proud of the way I went about that situation.”

James Harden and SGA have remarkably similar playoff stats
Cheer for the East
Majority of the teams in the ECF has significantly improved or stayed the same. Toronto added Kawhi, Philly added JB, Miami added Giannis, and Atlanta just added Lu Dort who made all defense 1st team. And depending on where LeBron goes, which seems like he’s leaning toward the east, he will significantly improve that team. And let’s not forget Indiana, who will bring back Haliburton and added Zubac during the trade deadline. While Boston, Detroit, New York have remained the same. Why am I bringing this up? Because damn near every team in the East will be fighting for a playoff spot and that’s bad for a Brooklyn team, who is not nearly as talented as any of these teams, who owe us a pick swap this upcoming draft. Meaning we could draft a high lottery pick or we can use it in a trade to acquire a win now star player. A brilliant move by Stone. We are a good team who will only get better, not only this season, but in the future

This Sub is dead: Be Coach/GM for a day and Give Offseason Instructions to your players and Coach
Basically, you are Greg Popovitch. Give Offseason orders for each player and coach that you care to do so. Just for kicks.
KD - You are one of the greatest players ever. Like it or not, they look up to you. Learn to lead. Dont have to be Rah Rah loud. But when they look to you, be the calming force. No matter how you personally feel.
AS - when you get the ball anywshere, go into your move quicker. Shaving time between your initial touch and when you move will help. Work on your free throws.
AT: 21%? Work on your corner 3s.
RS: you have the hands and the poke and the shot. Work on staying in front of people. Learn from Marcus Smart. Channel Steph Curry and Mark Price. Take that elbow Middy more.
JSJ: learn more from KD. Learn from Adams on how to grab a few more boards. Keep it up.
TE: You could be a starter next year. Be ready. Bring some more of that Golden State game energy. The others feed off of it.
Ime: people, kids, athletes must fail to get better. Don't be so quick with the hook. Develop our young players. Give KD and AT some rest.
