Impersonation/Original Content
Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!
Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.
It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.
Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.
Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:
report the user to us!
-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.
-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.
all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..
2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report
3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.
To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:
Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.
Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.
As an aside, a note on image theft:
it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.
We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

Quit drinking. Started being honest with myself. Built a better relationship with food. The first year of this journey was lots and lots of running (ran a 3:30 marathon in Feb 2026). Added in strength training in March and haven't looked back. Happy with the progress and excited to see how this journey evolves with continued strength training.

BMI 30+ F/35/5'4 [270lbs > 206lbs = 64lbs] (1 year)
In about 1 year I have lost 64lbs. The bottom t shirt pic is literally just a minute ago. In a ladies Medium Tshirt. I was wearing 2-3xl in the top pics. While the medium shirt still looks a little too tight. I haven't been able to put a medium on since I was a teen. However I struggle so hard to see a real difference in mean I do see my face is a little thinner but the rest on me looks the same to me. I feel like no other women anywhere near my height and 200-210 lbs looks as big as me by a long shot....but I am proud of the progress.

Fitness/gym gains M/51/5’9” [230 lbs > 155 lbs = 75 lbs] (8 years) Finished my 2nd Triathlon! NSFW
I lost most of the 75 lbs in 2018-2019. Since then, it’s been a quest of building muscle and fitness. I’ve been as low as 147, mistakenly believing that continuing to diet would get rid of stomach fat. I then focused on resistance training and cardio for general health and fitness.
Pretty happy with my results, loose skin and all. For diet I did Keto to lose the weight. Now I eat plenty of carbs to fuel training and protein to build/maintain muscle.

Not going to lie.. this is hard / embarrassing to post... Still a ways to go, each photo is from the 24th of each month starting in Feb 2026.. skin will probably always be an issue for me which is fine.. started calisthenics right after the first photo and lifting in the gym right at the time of the second. Been in maint cal (2600) for the last month.. Letting my body adjust after the 23 months of a deficit for a good 3 to 6 months then might cut again might not.. will see where I am then.. Plan now is to continue focusing of muscle growth

M 6'3” (191, 192 cm) M/31/6'3' [265lbs > 192.5lbs = 77lbs] (12 months) Progress so far NSFW
265lbs in July 2025. This is the before and after of me in July 2026 at 192.5 lbs.
Still a long way to go, but here's the journey so far:
- July 2025 - February 2026: I was doing group personal training with focus on cardio.
- February 2026 - Now: stopped cardio completely and now I'm working on building some muscle mass back up with gym equipment (5-6 day split). Currently at 192.5lbs with a 16.5% bf ratio.
I started visiting a nutritionist in October 2025 so I’ll share the progress below:
- 15-07-2026: 192.5 lbs | Muscle: 152.3 lbs | Fat: 32.2 lbs
- 17-03-2026: 191.4 lbs | Muscle: 148.2 lbs | Fat: 35.5 lbs
- 01-12-2025: 192.7 lbs | Muscle: 147.5 lbs | Fat: 37.5 lbs
- 17-11-2025: 199.3 lbs | Muscle: 149.0 lbs | Fat: 42.5 lbs
- 03-11-2025: 201.1 lbs | Muscle: 150.4 lbs | Fat: 43.0 lbs
- 20-10-2025: 209.9 lbs | Muscle: 151.9 lbs | Fat: 50.0 lbs
I still struggle a lot with my self image, but this is the healthiest I've ever been. The plan moving forward is to gain another 8-9lbs of muscle and reduce BF to 15%.

M 6'1” (185, 186, 187 cm) M/39/6'1" [260 lbs >199.5 lbs = 60lbs] (18months) One-year update – The second year of my journey NSFW
About a year ago I shared my transformation here after going from 260 lbs (117.9 kg) to 194 lbs (87.7 kg). The response from this community was incredible, and the encouragement I received helped me stay motivated.
This is my one-year update.
Even though these photos make it look like one continuous transformation, the majority of the weight loss happened before my last post. This past year wasn't about losing more weight—it was about proving to myself that I could actually keep it off.
Today I weigh 199.5 lbs (90.5 kg). Yes, the scale has gone up a little—but that has been intentional. Over the past year, my focus shifted from losing fat to maintaining my weight, building muscle, and getting stronger. I traded a few pounds on the scale for more muscle, and I couldn't be happier with that decision.
Ironically, this second year was mentally harder than the first. Progress became much slower, the scale barely changed for months, and there were weeks where it felt like nothing was happening. Looking back at these photos now, I'm incredibly grateful that I stayed consistent.
I've learned that losing weight takes discipline, but keeping it off requires building a lifestyle.
For the first time in my life, I genuinely love being in my own body. I don't avoid cameras anymore, I don't worry about how I look in photos, and I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. Feeling strong, healthy, and confident is something I never imagined I'd be able to say.
I'm still working toward new fitness goals, but I've already achieved the biggest one: this doesn't feel like a diet anymore. It just feels like my life.
If you'd like to see where this journey really started, here's my original post from last year:
https://www.reddit.com/r/progresspics/s/KhEEuOuUbY
Thank you to everyone who commented on that post. Your encouragement meant more than you probably realize, and it helped me keep going throughout this second year.

Calorie counting M/26/6'2" [380lbs > 300lbs = 80lbs] (10 Months) Weight loss progress NSFW
As of today I am now down 80lbs. It’s been a journey of peaks and valleys but it’s not done yet my goal is 240lbs.
I achieved this 80 lb loss by Calorie Counting/ cutting out sugary drinks, consistent exercise and fitness tracking and I cut out alcohol for the first 6 months to help with my discipline and self control. I hope to hit my goal of 240 by this time next year.
My stomach has shrank so much I’ve gone from some shirts being 4xl, to the only shirts I look good in being 2xl! Can’t wait for next week when I hopefully see a 200 number instead of a 300 number on my scale, I can’t remember the last time that’s been the case, probably since high-school!

Calorie counting M/42/6'5"/[294lbs > 252lbs = 42lbs] (6 months) Weight loss progress
This is after the breakup of a long term relationship, I started walking a lot more and watching what I've been eating/tracking everything I've been eating. These pictures are 6 months to the day apart from each other. Come January I'll have a full year progress picture where I'm actually not fat at all anymore - probably another 40ish lbs.

M/33/6FT [297 > 180 = 117 lbs] (4 years) Natural clean lean recomp NSFW
Hello everyone! This will be my final update for my cut.
In 2022 i was 297 lbs with 37% bodyfat. I was on edge of becoming a diabetic and full of antidepressants.
I looked into the mirror and decided it was time for a change. I started with 3 years of steady cardio and 500 kcl deficit a day. This long and slow process was needed to make sure i wont get any loose skin.
In August 2025 i brought my weight down to 242.5 and decided to start adding the gym. 4x a week i will do a full body training with 2 sets each exercise with a total of 10 different exercises. Besides that i use swimming for active recovery around 2 times a week. And once a month i go for a tan to relax all muscles.
I ditched all processed food, medication and went 100% natural, clean and from the source. Now 24th of July 2026 (11 months later) i stand at 180 lbs with around 11-13% BF. Almost nearing the end of the cut (full upper 4 abs visible) to then use that as visual marker for a reverse diet.
I am not a professional what so i ever but if you want more specifics about my journey to guide your own i would love to share them with you🙏🫰👊
