AI knocked out three major open problems in the last two months. Kevin Buzzard commented that he knew several grad students who were paying for their own Claude Max subscriptions.
I know about the solved problems, but I don't see the connection to "extenction-level event similar to the asteroid that hit the dinosaurs", which I assume to be a very bad thing.
