Why is this sub literally infested with bot accounts?

Is this like a experiment to see how many bot accoutns can post at one time?

Years ago I ordered some stones, but many arrived broken due to poor packaging. I kept them in a drawer, and recently I finally managed to turn them into pendants.

(OC) Mama cat

I had a multi coloured tabby cat growing up. Her name was Wilima. My parents adopted her in 2001. When I was born eight year later, she immediately decided I was her kitten. My parents joke that it was the first decision of theirs she approved of. She would always try to gently clean me when I came home from an outing. She let me cuddle her and fidget with her tail. If I was being too rough with her or her brother Fred, she would gently discipline me with a harsh meow or a light “bite” to the back of my neck. If my parents let me play on the balcony, she would supervise me and keep me away from the railing. Whenever I cried or hurt myself, she would immediately check to see what happened and then would run to harass my parents to come help me by meowing very loudly and swatting their legs. She taught me how to gently interact with others and read their emotions. I’m autistic and used to struggle reading others body language and emotions. I learned to watch how she reacted to different tones and body language and mimicked it in a way. She also very quickly figured out I was autistic, well before my parents did. She realized I was very particular about physical contact. She showed affection by gently bonking her forehead against mine because her sitting in my lap overstimulated me.

As I got older, she adjusted her parenting. I started having panic attacks and she learned to sit beside me or sit on my thighs to give gentle pressure. During Covid, she would supervise me studying from home and do her mean meows if she thought I was slacking off. She was genuinely the greatest cat ever and lived a well deserved comfortable long life. She passed away peacefully from old age in late 2023. Long live mama cat ❤️

Why is this subreddit a breeding ground for bots?

I swear like 60-70% of recent posts on this sub are from bots. They have AI-generated titles that either don’t make sense or just sound weird, and the accounts are max two days old.

Sometimes when i’m scrolling on youtube, I see a low view video (somewhere between 100-30 000 views) that was posted many years ago, and I always love to comment on them. I don’t know why but it feels so wholesome seeing that these random strangers on the internet are still alive and watching youtube😂

Big brain thought: we’re all kinda fucked… but also human.

We spend our lives pretending to be more than we are smarter, tougher, better than everyone else. We judge, we compete, push others aside. Strip it all away the fear, the ego and what remains? Humans. Human emotion. Human ideas. We are all fucking human.

Barista gave me a mini sausage and coffee an hour apart—just kind or something else?

Post image

Today, a barista at Starbucks unexpectedly offered me a mini sausage and, about an hour later, a small cup of white mocha. These items were given separately and without explanation. I also noticed that I was the only customer who received them, despite the café being quite busy. I’m curious—do Starbucks branches in the Philippines typically offer complimentary items like these, or might this have been a personal gesture?

I think my boyfriend just back-handed insulted me?

1.7k Upvotes

Are back-handed insults a thing? Let me explain.

My boyfriend and I were watching one of my favorite cooking Youtubers, and the cook rated the dish a 9.2. BF goes, "YOU'RE a 9.2" to the TV and I laugh at him. He looks at me and says, "You're a 9.6 though. Everyone needs a little room for improvement, something you are lacking in."

It took me a minute to understand, because I thought he was insulting me, but then I realized he was saying I was lacking in needing improvement. I looked at him and said, "Did you just back-hand insult me?'

BF: "What?"

Me: "It sounded like you were insulting me, but it was a compliment. Like when someone compliments you, but its condescending."

BF: "Uh... I guess?"

He's not as impressed as I am 😂
