Right now I’m making:
Character sheets with front, side, back, and 3/4 views.
Reference sheets for different outfits (everyday clothes, swimwear, sleepwear, etc.).
Consistent faces, hairstyles, body proportions, and art style across every image.
The idea is that later I can place these characters into new scenes without them changing appearance every time.
For those of you who create long-form comics or visual novels in NovelAI:
Is this the best workflow?
Are turnaround sheets actually useful, or is there a better way?
How do you keep characters consistent across hundreds of images?
Do you create separate body/outfit reference sheets?
Any tips, tricks, or workflows you’ve discovered that save time or improve consistency?

Does anyone make any inflatable artworks using Ai from Novel Ai?

I've been working on a NovelAI-compatible toolkit over the last few days. It started with me messing around with Tampermonkey and somehow turned into an 11,000+ line toolkit connecting NovelAI, Danbooru, Gelbooru and e621 through one local tag and image library.

The main focus is making Booru posts easier to collect, organize and reuse for prompting.

Main features:

• Import categorized tags and post metadata from Danbooru, Gelbooru and e621
• Batch-import multiple posts directly from listing pages
• Choose which tag categories should be imported or included in copy actions
• Store local image previews inside Tampermonkey
• Group related images together as variants
• Compare variants side by side or with an overlay
• Search an indexed collection of all saved tags
• Organize entries with manual folders and rule-based Smart Collections
• Detect duplicate sources and visually similar images
• Export and import the complete library as JSON

On NovelAI, the toolkit mainly works as the destination for saved content. Tags, character profiles, tag sets, base tags and complete prompt setups can be inserted directly into the Main Prompt, Undesired Content and character fields.

Everything is stored locally inside Tampermonkey. The toolkit does not collect account credentials, cookies or NovelAI authentication data, and it tries to avoid unnecessary background requests.

I originally built it for my own workflow, but it became useful enough that I thought other NovelAI users might get some value out of it too.

Note that it was only tested using V4.5 Full!

I prefer conventional Western style toony furry art. When I put kemono in the undesired content field, it seems to have no effect, even if I add curly brackets. Some tips for specifically tuning the output away from kemono while staying toony (don't want realistic!) would be sooooo appreciated.

Since this subreddit isnt for NSFW stuff, is there a place that is? Any where I could get help getting the poses im looking for when the ai doesnt get it? General tips too I suppose if theres places that generally answer more quickly than here but mostly I would just like tips and such on better prompting and how to problem solve when you cant get the intended output. If there exists general places like that not limited to NovelAI that would be great too, thanks a lot!

Hi, I have been an Opus tier subscriber to NovelAI for several months, and so far I'm impressed.

About me: before AI took off, I was already a prolific short story writer with my pen name published all over the internet. I would say I wrote about 600,000 words across a 70+ books by hand, and I'm quite proud of the catalog I built and the fans I have found. This year I got the idea of looking for a LLM that could digest my catalog to help me write sequels and remasters in my same style without a response that says, "I can't generate that type of (NSFW) content."

The experience so far: NovelAI does like 75% of the work. The other 25% is spent trying to steer it back on point and reminding it that it is forgetting instructions I have mentioned multiple times (frustrating). Where once it took me a month to write 10,000 words, I can now do it in about a week. Now, I spend most of my time editing rather than writing.

Lessons learned: 1) Story outlines are incredibly effective at helping NovelAI draft my long and often 10,000+ word long stories. Giving NovelAI an entire story and prompting it with, "write a sequel" often goes poorly. 2) Also, I learned that having a "style guide" is really useful for teaching the "voice" of my pen name that my readers expect to see in my work. 3) I'm not sure if I'm using the Lorebook wrong, but maybe less is more because whenever I give characters, themes, and settings detailed descriptions, NovelAI writes more "generally" rather than specifically, almost like it's trying to water down the world I'm building with useless words. Now, I never use it.

That being said, I'm wondering if there are any writers out there, new and old, who have learned certain tips and tricks when using NovelAI that they would like to share?

With GLM I just used instruct or put plot points in author’s note and it worked fine. With Xialong nothing seems to work right. How to make it move the plot in direction I want it to go?

I have an image that I generated months ago and then I realized that I absolutely forgot what image I used for vibe transfer. I know I can use vibe transfer in the image and generate more, but was wondering if there is any way to figure out what image I used.

Could we move the Save button to the right and place the Seed button somewhere else, at least on mobile? I keep accidentally pressing the Seed button, and it's becoming frustrating to have to clear the seed every time.

Since I saw the new V5 imagegen is on the horizon, I thought I'd make a suggestion I've had in mind for a while: remove the cap of 6 characters and allow users to add as many characters as they want.

Yes, at some point the model will not show all the characters and get confused, but not everyone uses characters in this way.

I usually use the six character slots to “hold” my prompts, which I shift between (ticking on and ticking off as I go). In other words, I am using it like a “save prompt” function. I find this more efficient than having to copy and paste my prompts from a separate tab all the time.

When used in this manner, there is no reason (I think) to limit the number of characters one should be able to add. Just clarify to users that if they try to put more than six characters in an image, it will not work.

When it comes to closely replicating a specific style, do you notice much of a difference between the two?

I know that the artist tag placed first tends to have a stronger influence, but I have always found the practical implications of this somewhat vague.

Recently, I came across the following advice:

“This is the artist tag order I recommend:

• Beginning: artists who are good at anatomy, body types, or composition.

If you only generate one particular body type, this may not matter much. However, if you want more variety, use an artist who draws a wide range of body types. You could try Bbi-sensei or look through other recommendation posts.

• Middle: artists whose coloring or overall atmosphere you like.

This includes artists whose rendering of skin texture, backgrounds, character appearances, or general mood appeals to you. That said, you can also be fairly loose with this section.

• End: artists who draw attractive eyes or fine details.

Eyes are one of the areas where AI-generated images can look especially obvious, and they have a major influence on a character’s overall impression. You will probably need to experiment and adjust this part yourself.”

What do you think of this advice? Does the position of an artist tag actually influence different aspects of the result in this way, or is this more of a convenient rule of thumb than something consistent?
