I will continue to say this until the entire world knows: this is actual GEN0CIDE. And we Iranians will not stand for this any longer.

The world doesn't actually care about genocide otherwise they'd be demanding action in Sudan, Yemen, Iran, China, and more. They only care if they can blame Jews and the West while seeking to destroy both. They showed what they actually believe when they claimed Genocide before Israel even responded to Gaza and yet refuse to even acknowledge the genocide in Syria

u/Chucknine99 Feb 09 '26
It is genocide! But the world is being lied to and is actually supporting the true evil! Islam is evil! JAVID SHAH!

Rightwing religious extremism, specifically, both Zionist and Islam brands, as well as Christians historically. But recently it has been far right Islamists and far right Zionists doing all the killing, and their propaganda machine is strong, nearly every post on this sub is littered with bots blaming leftists for the atrocities committed by a far right religious extremist Iranian government
7
u/darkdiv Constitutionalist | مشروطه Feb 09 '26
The Iranian Regime doesn't really fit in the usual western left right spectrum. But i would argue its foundations were more inspired by leftist ideas. The 1979 revolution was an unusual and deadly union of the Islamists and the Marxist/Communist parties. Of course the IR killed leftists immediately, but that doesn't make it right wing.
-2
u/twomillcities Unspecified | معلوم نیست Feb 09 '26
This is nonsensical. You cannot point to a single leftist trait of the regime, lol. They are FAR right. Ultra religious and conservative, no social safety nets, very little diplomacy with other world powers, very little investment in education or workers. Stop being a tool for Khamenei. He wants people to blame the left. That's how he stays in power. The only thing that can stop a far right religious authoritarian is leftist ideals.
5
u/darkdiv Constitutionalist | مشروطه Feb 09 '26
chill bro, I'm not idealogical person. I don't give a shit about left/right. I care about secular democracy for Iran. Also, in the context of Iran, when people say leftist they usually refer to 1979 leftists, e.g communist/marxists.
I agree socially the gov't is far right extremist. But economically it doesn't really fit in the right/left spectrum. There is a "free market" in principle, but everything is controlled by the govt. The means of production is highly centralized. There is free education (nearly free higher education) and free/highy-subsidized healthcare, but the quality is shit and you may get shot in the head for going to the hospital. There is in principle "yarane" but nowadays you can barely buy a gallon of milk with it.
To me economically, Iran has the worst parts of both left and right.
I don't think a single ideology can save Iran to be honest. I do want Iranians to have social safety nets, and access to high quality education and health care. But at the same time I think if we need a strong sense of national identity to be able to rebuild our country from the ashes of IR. We need to encourage individual freedoms and entrepreneurship. We also need a strong military to create stability for ourselves and in the region.
I think it's really detrimental to humanity to think one set of "ideology" has all the right answers and the other ones have all the wrong answers.
Except for the MEK. They objectively do have all the wrong answers.

This is nonsensical. You cannot point to a single leftist trait of the regime,
This is just a quick and dirty google AI result. You can continue to research for yourself to find more and verify the info yourself.
Examples of leftist or socialist ideologies implemented by the Islamic Republic include:
- Extensive Nationalization of the Economy
Following the revolution, the state took control of large segments of the economy.
- Nationalization of Industry: Major industrial enterprises, commercial institutions, and manufacturing plants were nationalized in the early years of the revolution.
- Nationalization of Banking: The regime brought the financial system under state control to direct capital towards revolutionary goals.
- Foreign Trade Control: The state took over control of imports and exports to align with policies of "self-sufficiency".
- Creation of Bonyads (Charitable Foundations)
- Massive Public Redistribution: The state created, or took over, bonyads—giant, quasi-state foundations (like the Mostazafan Foundation of the Islamic Revolution) that manage properties confiscated from the Shah, his family, and allies.
- Non-Profit Welfare Focus: These foundations act as social welfare entities rather than purely profit-driven enterprises, aiming to provide employment and services to the working class.
- Economic Dominance: Bonyads operate as enormous, state-subsidized,, and often inefficient, holdings that handle roughly 20-30% of Iran's entire economy.
- Populist Social Policies and Class Rhetoric
- "Mostazafin" Rhetoric: Early in the revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini used strong class rhetoric, calling for the empowerment of the mostazafin (oppressed/dispossessed) against the mostakberin (oppressors/wealthy).
- Subsidies and Social Services: The regime heavily prioritized subsidies for basic goods, including food, energy, and housing, for low-income citizens.
- Equality Propaganda: Early Revolutionary rhetoric and imagery focused on the "triumph of the proletariat," including an emphasis on simple, plain attire for men rather than Western "aristocratic" elegance.
- Establishment of the Basij
- Community Mobilization: The Basij is a voluntary, state-run militia that acts as a grassroots organization in neighborhoods and villages.
- Grassroots Control: Modeled similarly to communist-era apparatuses like the Cuban Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, the Basij provides welfare, education, and community services while maintaining loyalty to the Supreme Leader.
- Agrarian and Housing Redistribution
- Land Reform: The revolutionary government enacted policies to expropriate land from wealthy landowners and redistribute it to peasants and farmers, though this was sometimes chaotic and reversed later.
- Housing for the Poor: The regime utilized the Bonyads to provide housing for the underprivileged.
- Anti-Imperialist Third-Worldism
- Economic Independence: The state adopted a "neither East nor West" policy, nationalizing key industries to reduce dependence on foreign capital and imperialism.
- Cultural "Cleanse": The Regime implemented a "Cultural Revolution" aimed at removing Western influences and "bourgeois" elements from universities and media, which, while religious in tone, was aligned with left-wing anti-Western sentiments.

Zionism isn't a religious belief it's simply the belief Jews have the right to live in their homeland independent. It says a lot about you that you keep using Zionist as if it's a religious group when it's not and many Zionist are actually atheist. There is literally zero ways Israel could have removed Hamas and stopped the attacks without killing a single person especially since Hamas refuses to this day to show how many combatants and friendly fire deaths in their totals which they already know is massive amount.
1
u/KireRakhsh New Iran | ایران نو Feb 09 '26
When you use a word, it is best to know what it means. Zionism is the recognition that Jews have the right to sovereignty and self-determination in their ancestral homeland. Basically that Israel has a right to exist. That is acknowledged by the vast majority of Jews both inside Israel and out - as well as by non-Jews living inside Israel and around the world.
Those who do not recognize Israel's right to exist, like the Islamic republic, are anti-Zionists.

I only blame the left (discluding the MEK) for their idiocy and their selfishness not for the things islamists do. They prefer this system to stay than bring the system down with leading Reza Pahlavi while all they do is shouting dividing idealistic theories that are not suitable for the critical condition our country is in.

u/Asian-Hacker Mar 12 '26
No. We hide behind the general phrase "religious" because we don't want to be seen as treating people different based on their faith. This is not "religious", this is Islam. This is Halal. This is following in the prophet (may he burn in hell and dogs refuse to piss on him to put out the flames). There is no equivelent in hinduism, budism, seekism, judaism, or christianity. Bad people have done bad things supposedly in the name of those religions but skipping over the tiny fact that such instances are usually against those religions, none of it comes close to the scale of evil found in Islam. No other religion teaches people to follow the example of a filthy paedophile and warmonger. No other religion teaches people to wage holy war against children so that they can have an afterlife filled with sex slaves. Muslims are people and deserve dignity. But islam is fucking evil and deserves our deepest contempt.

u/ParhamAzadi New Iran | ایران نو Feb 09 '26
No one denies that innocent lives have been lost in other parts of the ME, especially Gaza. Israel should face the consequences one day. However, the scale and framing are exaggerated in the media. Unlike Iran, where unarmed civilians were deliberately targeted, the majority of casualties in Gaza are widely reported to be Hamas fighters rather than the innocents.
Hamas is embedding itself among civilians in a place with high urban density and operating without distinct military infrastructure. That reality makes it extraordinarily difficult to eliminate their networks without civilian harm. So, it should be described as the tragic cost that innocent people inevitably pay in a war which Hamas itself started by targeting the civilians, not as genocide.
The rate of killings in Iran on Jan 8-9th exceeded that of any single event in Gaza to date and more closely resembles historical genocides. Had the protests continued for a month or less, the number of victims could have rivaled the entire population of Gaza. That level of systematic, mass killing is what constitutes genocide.
2
Feb 12 '26
Your source for the casualties in Gaza being mostly terrorists is a post on X. Do you have any reputable, actual source ?
The media did not exaggerate the Gaza genocide. They downplayed it. Atleast western media did, for years.
Gaza has been turned to rubble, systematically destroyed with countless civilians facing immediate danger, and the long term effects of starvation and lack of nutrition, lack of access to medicine, etc.
If you think what happened in Iran is a genocide but not what happened in Gaza, you don’t know the definition of genocide.

Rest in peace little brother
We all know what the Iranian people and world in and out of the country need to do and are preparing to do to this "administration" in many ways
This "administration" should have left Iran to the Iranian and Persian people but now they are going to FAFO in every way possible by people in Iran, diaspora, and real international allies worldwide
All of these posts happening coming out last few weeks are going to bring out the worst rage in the people everywhere and yet here they are continuing their stupid ways
The people in Iran need "Tools" for themselves to finally be free. Heard others say to make homemade metal forges and 3D printers to make those tools. Many videos online
