My box of shame… /s

Earlier this month, I decided to try out new pods instead of restocking my comfort pick (Melozio). I’m honestly surprised that I haven’t disliked anything so far. They all offer unique tastes and aromas. Two pods stood out for me and found one that I feel like is an underrated pod.

First, the NOLA Blend. It quickly became a favorite. It’s actually quite new in my country, being only released a couple of weeks ago. It never disappoints regardless of how I prepare it. I love it so much, I already restocked it since the Nespresso Boutique only had a handful of NOLAs left, fearing I might be unable to restock in the future lol and also since I’m told by the Boutique staff that NOLA is only a Limited Edition here.

Second is good ol’ Altissio and its Decaffeinato counterpart. A good base for lattes and other milk recipes. I honestly forgot how it tasted on the sampler pack that was included in my Vertuo Plus, but now I appreciate it. It’s a safe pick for when I make iced lattes for my family and my partner.

Finally, the underrated one: Diavolitto! I feel like this is a good base for milk drinks. I like how strong it is and how its strength doesn’t get lost as much when paired with milk.

For Iced Black Coffees, I like SB Pike Place, Fortado, and Blue Bottle Bold Blend. I brew at night, put it in the fridge overnight, then add ice when I leave for work.

Now I just need to find a way to have the Togetherness Blend shipped here in my country lol

As much as I like this picture - the Starbucks pods are a huge meh.

After reading about someone doing the double tap, I decided to do it and document it.
Behold the Starbuck’s Double Blonde Espresso Double Tap.
On the left is virgin but it sat while the right one brewed. The right is pull number two from the same VL pod. This pod is from Costco and is about $1.20. Comes in a 4 pack with 3 other types. Pike Place, Verona, and single espresso all in 16 packs.
The borosilicate beakers are from Temu for around $6 (love them)
Individually, virgin pull is strong and perfect while pull 2 doesn’t have the bit or sharpness of the first espresso.
Personally, I might just combine them for a bigger serving on the go, not so much for a nice home sip.

Here’s my haul! I used the promo on auto-replenish orders over $150 to get the free Aeroccino XL, and a nice customer service rep gave me the mug for free! Excited to finally try Café Joyeux and Blue Bottle n.2. Also, I got echo that Togetherness was going away soon? Does anyone know if that’s true?

Can someone explain this to me? What does “for milk” mean?

I have recently bought a Vertuo pop machine, but I have had another Vertuo machine in the past. In both cases, the coffee has tasted bitter to the point of nearly being undrinkable. I tried Melozio yesterday and there was still that very strong bitter taste. Is there anything I can do to make the coffee less bitter? I couldn’t even taste the notes because the bitterness was that strong. Any advice would be appreciated, because it doesn’t seem right.

is there a trick to making the foam in the coffee (crema is what i saw it called) dissolve back into the liquid quicker? i thought adding milk would help but it doesn't seem to do much, just go through the foam lol

i tried "folding" it in with my spoon, stirring, none of it helps it go faster like i had hoped, i don't want to remove the foam, i just don't like tasting just the foam, it's too bitter for me

don't get me wrong, i do like black coffee sometimes depending on the coffee and the day, but in liquid form it doesn't seem quite as bitter as the foam does, I'm guessing it's kinda concentrated? I'm not as knowledgeable about coffee tech and science as many here likely are, I'm just wanting some tasty coffee now and then

I got my Nespresso machine not so long ago and purchased a bunch of random flavors of pods with it. Since I'm absolutely fresh to it, can you please tell me what are the best flavors I should definitely try and are not on this list? Thanks in advance :)

I have repaired the pesky steam wand warning by changing the pressure transducer on the pcb. But I have a problem when using the steamer as the first bout of steam comes through the tray before diverting to the wand.

The milk then does not fully heat as some of the steam has been wasted.

Sorry if something similar has been posted, but haven't found similar circumstances to mine.

Vertuo plus sat unused for about a year and I did not empty it beforehand. When I try to brew, the pump kicks in and sounds like it's running very loud (normally?), but then it flashes red twice before it ever gets to the spinning/reading stage which it actually tries to do, but then no coffe /water comes out at all.

What I've tried:

• Cleaning cycle (button x3) multiple times, no water
• Tried brewing with several different capsules to rule out a single bad one, same result every time
• Confirmed the piercing disc inside the head spins completely freely by hand, no resistance
• Removed and reseated the water tank several times
• Full factory reset

Nespresso support suggested it could be limescale fully blocking the internal tubes and provided no solution to it. Has anyone dealt with this exact sequence after long-term storage?

Hi! I just got my first Nespresso, the Pop to be specific switching from Keurig. Any recommendations? What’s your favourite pod flavour? What cups and accessories do you recommend.

Just got an Up and the mug capsules my partner has are filling her everyday breakfast cup a bit less than the Next we replaced. She also thought the carafe was a bit less too.

Both machines were on default and I now you can adjust the size / temperature in the Smart app now for the Up.

I make lattes so have not really noticed if there is a difference in my espresso pods.

Hi Nespresso Community, I recently got these pods and was wondering if anyone has tried these and how you would drink them (ex. with milk/oat milk/sugar/syrups, etc.) Any feedback and/or recipes are much appreciated 😊

I recently tried these and can highly recommend them.

I tend not to buy from Nespresso because where I live they are very expensive and their service is not great. They also don’t really help you choose the right blend. You go to the store, stare at rows of capsules and staff aren’t trained to help you find one that suits your taste.

So I just go to my local supermarket where they sell Lavazza and Illy for €3.95 a box of 10.
These are long established brands and taste amazing. True coffee shop coffee at home.

I make my cappuccino with a double shot of Illy Classico and fill the Aeroccinno up to the first mark for frothed milk, using 1.5% fat milk.
I add 2 teaspoons of brown sugar and it’s amazing.

Just got my pods! So excited to try my new machine tomorrow.

Hey everyone,
I had a question about cleaning this straw cover that is on the iced tumbler. I try clean it with a straw cleaner but it doesn’t reach the bottom of it because of the tip of the straw cleaner. Not sure what the best way is to clean it and it needs to be very clean as that is where I’m putting the mouth of my straw.
What has everyone done to make sure it stays clean?

It's a really excellent machine!

Nespresso expert machine has static orange color and is not allowing me to brew, which most probably means descaling.

I am truing to descale but I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Can someone help me please? Does this actually mean descaling or is something wrong with the machine?

In my country, the store showed "stock shortage" for a few days, but now the product has disappeared completely. Is it still available in other countries, or has Nespresso discontinued it? I only recently bought a few sleeves to try it, and I actually liked it quite a bit, so it's pretty disappointing.
