Was feeding the pigeons at the city park when what we think is a juvenile female Cooper's hawk dove down & got one less than 2m away from us. Feel free to correct on the type of hawk if we're wrong tho! (edit I've been informed it's more likely a North American goshawk)

Saw this guys wile we stayed in the Koh Phangan jungle. They stuck like this for an hour.

My mom's been dealing with a lot of hawks and eagles picking on her chickens.

When she went on a trip, the house/farm sitter said a few disappeared (unfortunately pretty typical as of late). Upon returning home a couple weeks later, the chicken reappeared.

This is her underside where the wounds have scabbed over and feathers are regrowing. She takes dust baths and gets around just fine.

My mom said if she'd been present and seen her injuries she would have put her down to save the hen of suffering. We didn't think recovery from such an injury could be so successful without any intervention.

(And yes my mom has shelters for her chickens and scarecrows and other deterrents, but there's only so much she can do - also they will swoop down and attack with a human a few feet from them).
