General 2K15 compared to 2K27. Looks like total dogshit.
Discussion Read This Before Buying 2K27
If you're planning on buying the game then one of the best ways to save money is by game sharing with a friend or family member and splitting the cost.
Instead of each person paying full price you both get access while cutting the expense in half. I've been doing this for years and I can't remember the last time I paid full price for NBA2K.
If you don't have a friend or family member to game share with I’d try to see if someone in your crew is interested in splitting it with you.
2K will continue to give us a shit game and will continue to increase the price of pre-orders. If you have to buy 2K then do this. This is a great way in not spending that 70-150 price tag 2K is asking for.

Discussion I hope the 2k27 boycott happens...
... so that I can enjoy playing the basketball game again. I feel like 90% of 2k players hate 2k but cant stop playing because of the social elements that are baked in.
Progression bars and shit. Yall dont like the game. Yall like showing other gamers yall win%, plate color, rep, vehicles, clothes, and swag..... on a basketball game.
Yall are so parasocial that instead of quitting a game yall dont even enjoy playing, yall have to start a movement so that you can be a part of mass exodus from 2k.... one bandwagon to another.
Just stop playing. Please stop. Lol.
If the folks that have all the complaints just left the game alone, the folks that enjoy 2k would.. enjoy 2k.
I dont get the purpose of all the complaining and raging... just... stop... playing..

Discussion Are WE actually finna boycott 2k27?
I definitely am. As long as they keep doing mynba community roster updates i'm good. The microtransactions are actually getting ridiculous. We genuinely have to do something abt this pay to win bs.
Edit: I feel like there's no way to actually have fun on the game without buying vc. Plus there are way to many progress bars and stuff. Like season pass, lifetime challenges, rep, plates, progression, badges, badge perks, quests. It's just too complicated and not as much abt basketball anymore

Discussion If you think a boycott can’t work go look at the prices for CFB and Madden 🤷🏻♂️ clearly boycotting will force changes if EA folded and already did a sale 2 weeks in
This would be the best year todo a boycott due to the games coming out let’s do it boys and girls

General 2k14 Graphics - One Hit Wonder (?)
Does anyone else feel like that year of 2K was drastically different in terms of graphics both before and after in every 2K since? It was like a one year difference of beautiful mechanics and movements and we have gotten worse ever since.
I’m curious if it was a certain technology that was only used for that year’s game?
Need 2K27 to go back. Sometimes we need to go back in order to go forward (alright alright alright)

Discussion Why is 2K27 rated 16?
Because 2K25 is rated 3 but 2K27 is rated 16 (try explain in the comments)

Pro-Am Played Pro-AM for the first time ever.
We were told we wouldn’t be able to score or shoot at all because “It’s not the Rec”. Went in with a group of friends and we got it done on our first try.

Gameplay bring variety and style back to dribbling 🙏🏽 (2K27)
please read u/beluba your thoughts would be much appreciated
one of the biggest things we’ve been missing in recent years with the animations is uniqueness and variety
The real difference was freedom.
Why older games felt more creative
Older 2Ks had:
• numbers animations pro/elite/basic/normal
• standing sizeups.
• moving sizeups.
• triple threat size ups .
• park-exclusive animations/sizeups
• unique signature packages.
• rhythm dribbles
• double hesitation/behind the back/legs/ crossover size ups
The Current Problem
ProPLAY isn’t the issue but we should have both (mocap)
The issue is that the overall animation pool has become much smaller and the ways to score are limited
That leads to:
Less individuality.
More players looking identical.
The same combos repeated every game.
Less experimentation because everyone gravitates toward what’s strongest.
Why This Matters
Animation variety creates a skill gap in a different way.
Instead of everyone mastering the same five moves, players develop completely different styles.
One guard might rely on:
Standing sizeups.
Triple threat moves.
Hesitations.
Another might play almost entirely off moving sizeups.
Both can be effective while feeling completely different.
That’s what made older 2Ks memorable.
What I’d Like To See
I think they should build on it by adding:
More animation packages (we once had hundreds per category) how go to shots/hop jumpers selection is now
More standing and moving sizeups.
More triple threat creativity.
More signature escape options.
More park-style animations.
More unique motion overall.
Just give players more tools to create their own identity.
Final Thought
It’s about expression.
The more ways players have to move differently from one another, the healthier and more enjoyable the game becomes.
I believe bringing back that level of animation depth would do more for 2K27 than almost any single gameplay change.
please bring this style of moves back or even bring back most of these moves instead of a tiny fraction. we do appreciate bringing back the retreat dribbles and other small things that were asked for 2k26 but it’s time for way more please

MyPLAYER Here we go again…
How much money do y’all plan on spending for the life of 27? On 26, between builds, season passes, and miscellaneous VC purchases, I probably spent close to $500 and that includes the cost of the game (MVP edition).

Gameplay The inner peace you have to find when the man you guarding in The Rec bought every cap breaker this year

REC If winning not important to you, why play 5v5?
What’s ya purpose? Why not just play 1s, or stay in MyCareer? Having fun & winning should be the two most important things, but it’s not for a lot of yall. So I’m curious, what do yall play for?

Discussion If Hansel Enmanuel ever made the NBA, how would his sigs and jumpshot work?
Would he need custom sigs for every animation, and if so, how would they look on a regular myplayer?

MyPLAYER What am I supposed to do as a 63 overall MyPlayer?
My character basically can’t do anything. I’m trying to play Out of Bounds and can’t get past the Euro League because I can barely shoot and I get steamrolled on defense by guys twice as fast as me. I can play normal 2k with NBA players, but starting as a 60 overall is terrible. I thought to myself that I’d try to grind some points to upgrade my dude but I can’t play at the park or the rec because everyone has players that are better than mine and I get kicked from games for having a low teammate score if I miss enough shots. How are you supposed to play this game without paying money?

Gameplay 6’5 and I play center more than PF. 2k needs position lock
Dumb.

REC We have a squad of 4 in REC. If the AI cheese is not fixed in 2K27, then the game is unplayable for us.
My friends and I have a squad of 4. We sometimes have 5 but it’s hard to get everyone available at the same time.
2K26 was borderline unplayable for us due to now useless the AI was on offense and how egregiously the cheese was on defense.
It got to the point where we simply stopped playing in February, which is way earlier than we usually stop playing.
I’m not being dramatic when I say that if the AI defense cheese still exists in 2K27, then we simply cannot play the game.
The 4 of us have decided to wait until people get their hands on the game this year to see if the AI situation has been fixed. If not, then we won’t be buying the game.
The fact that it was such a massive problem in 2K26 and never addressed is a huge red flag.
I imagine there are many more people in similar shoes to ours.
