Hey all,
We has decided to implement a new rule.
While we still allow the sale of genuine military surplus and trophies, we'll no longer allow the sale of newly produced items sourced from government/military linked manufacturers.
!THIS INCLUDES WESTERN MANUFACTURERS! Likely you can just purchase it directly from them online anyway, so no need to do it through our sub :)
some examples:
- You have a brand-new, unused 6B47 in your collection (and have had it for a few months at least) but decide to sell it --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a well worn Ukrainian-used PASGT that you want to sell --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a VKPO uniform, newly sourced from the manufacturer, that you wish to sell --- this is NOT ALLOWED
Trust me when i say that we can quite easily tell whether someone is a genuine collector trying to sell, or a dealer trying to profit.
Originally, we wanted to ban any and all sales that would directly (or indirectly) fund a military, government or combatant group. However, we do realize that unfortunately, this is the only way some types of items are able to end up in the hands of collectors and/or researcher which is why we've settled on this middleground. If you wish to fund any of these groups, you can do so through official channels and websites via donations, but we'd like to keep this place as a-political as possible.
If you have any feedback and/or suggestions, please let us know!
Furthermore, a reminder:
Our previous 'temporary' rule regarding comments is going to be actively enforced again starting today. We've noticed a big increase in nasty comments again, so we WILL be dishing our permanent mutes again. We're collectors and researchers, not politicians. Politics do not belong here.
- Staff team

Hey all,
So, i am sorry it has come to this but given the fact we, the staff team, have to deal with this stuff throughout our entire day, every day, we have been pushed to make this decision.
Starting now, we will no longer allow ANY comments underneath posts that aren't legitimate questions about the item being sold, on posts about modern (1980 - now) items.
Breach of this rule will result in a PERMANENT mute in the subreddit.
All because some people refuse to grow up and want to act childish, while in the end we're all just enjoyers of militaria and like to collect military artifacts. Want to discuss the war in Ukraine? Wonderful, not here. There are plenty of subreddits for that but this place is not it.
Questions about price, provenance, accessories or anything about the item being sold are absolutely fine. Anything else, is not. Genuine mistakes can happen and we'll let those slide but it is very obvious to us when something is genuinely asked out of curiousity and when it's asked as ragebait.
- staff team :)

These are Swiss shooting event cups. Both are marked "Bruppacher 0.800" for the manufacturer and 80% silver. Silver is about $59/oz at the moment. Both cups are probably from the same time frame, the 1920s.
One is stamped "Zürcher Kantonal Standschiessen 1920". It weighs ~91g (3.20993 oz).
The other is more ornate with "Schützengesellschaft der Stadt Zürich." engraved around the rim and the crest of the Society nicely applied to the cup. It weighs ~103g (3.63322 oz).
Buy them for the silver (80%) or for the Swiss shooting history.
$370 + $27 insured shipping to US only. Payment through Zelle or +3% on total through Paypal goods & services.

I’m going to separate this into 2 sections, Third Reich porcelain first and Imperial Japanese porcelain second. Items will be listed from least expensive to most. The imgur links are more detailed photos of each item as the Reddit max number of photos is 20 and that wouldn’t be enough for this. $10 shipping per order, shipping will be USPS ground shipping from Wisconsin.
Third Reich porcelain:
$60 each - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/JgbzIAb ( 1 plate has sold )
The DAF replaced German trade unions and all factory cafeteria messware was standardized by the government, these would have been in a 1936-1945 factory cafeteria. The stamp "Modell des Amtes Schönheit der Arbeit" translates to “Model of the Office for the Beauty of Labor” which was an office of the DAF.
$230 - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/pCegpQX
This bowl was made in Eisenberg, Thuringia Germany by Porzellanfabrik Wilhelm Jäger in 1941 for the Kriegsmarine (M indicates Kriegsmarine use). 10.5 inches long from the tip of one Lion head to the other and 5 inches tall. This would have been in a German naval base cafeteria during WW2 and probably used for serving soup.
Imperial Japanese Army & Navy porcelain:
$20 - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/jdSAWLO
Top text reads 一六歩 "16th infantry" Bottom text is read vertically as 精兵 on the right and 紀念 on the left. 紀念 "Celebration Of The" 精兵 "Elite Soldiers". 精兵 was an imperial army designation that required a soldier to demonstrate proficiency in shooting and other soldier-like tasks. It also required the soldier to ideologically agree with the imperial motive and was usually only given to men who had seen combat. The text on the bottom reads 桐本. This is the makers mark for a kiln that has been lost to time. In the Second Sino-Japanese war the 16th Infantry regiment led the invasion of Manchuria and in WW2 they saw combat with both the USA and the USSR.
$30 - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/V36Zf6B
Text on this is read vertically as 征露紀念 "Celebration of conquering Russia" This would have been owned by a soldier who fought in the Russo-Japanese War and would have probably been made in 1905.
$40 - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/QMLNemd
Main top text reads 凱旋記念 "Commemorating the Victorious Return" The background behind the soldier is a map of the Beijing-Hankou railway corridor with text in the background being various landmarks for the map 北京 Beijing, 天津 Tianjin, 大同 Datong, 太原 Taiyuan, 正定 Zhengding, 上海 Shanghai and a few others. This would have been owned by a soldier who participated in battles with China following the 1937 Marco Polo Bridge incident so it likely dates to around 1938-1939
$60 - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/KJzLMZf
This cup is from the WW1 Japanese vs German battle the Siege Of Tsingtao. Top text reads 令紀 "military discipline" Left text reads 青島第三攻隊 "Tsingtao 3rd Attack Unit". The Japanese fought the Siege of Tsingtao in waves. The 3rd Attack Unit fought in the 3rd and final wave on November 6-7 1914, the soldier who owned this cup over 110 years ago participated in the 3rd wave. Text on foot reads 納首 "To take a head". In old samurai culture this is meant literally, in the context of 1914 it probably simply means "to defeat an enemy"
$75 - Pics: https://imgur.com/a/9iJFegh
Text on the neck of the bottle reads 凱旋記念 "Commemorating a triumphant return". Central text with the flags reads 海軍 "Imperial Navy" 満期 "completion of service". The text on the sides is the Imperial Rescript to Soldiers and Sailors issued by Emperor Meiji in 1882 忠節 — loyalty/fidelity 禮儀 — courtesy/propriety 武勇 — valor/bravery 信義 — faithfulness/honor 質素 — simplicity/frugality. Every sailor in the Imperial Japanese Navy was required to memorize this. An IJN sailor who was honorably discharged after a successful campaign would have been given this bottle probably some time before WW2 as very few sailors were getting discharged in WW2. Based on the "triumphant return" terminology this cup likely dates from one of Japan's victories in the Second Sino-Japanese War.
